You have dyslexia?
(no offence meant, just trying to be witty)
I don't know what dyspraxia is, but that sounds terrible.
Is Dyspraxia what is referred to as the 'Motor Learning Disability'? I wouldn't mind seeing more humans who have disabilities, in fact, I'd like to see TellTaleGames actually let at least one live.
I could imagine the amount of hate the character would get for being "useless" right now.
Developmental coordination disorder also known as developmental dyspraxia is a chronic neurological disorder beginning in childhood that can affect planning of movements and co-ordination as a result of brain messages not being accurately transmitted to the body.
Sad to hear, but it's the truth.
Seeing how the Walking Dead have a track record of either being 'weak' or 'villains', I don't have high hopes of new disabled characters being portrayed in a positive light.
It would make for a good story of how a well-written character with dsypraxia can survive in a zombie apocalypse, so as long as the writers take their time to understand what the condition is, how it affects them, and avoid portraying them in a negative light.
I'm honestly curious how you want to potray a mental illness positively in a zombie apocalypse? How would you do it? Also aren't mental illness's negative anyway? I've met plenty of great people with them but the vast majority agree there condition is a negative .
Well, I wouldn't know exactly how I would portray a character with mental illnesses in any form of media, but I do believe that it can be done without needlessly portraying the illness as a 'curse', as in being liable to screw everything and everybody up in every situation they're in with 100% consistency, or always alienating everybody around them and make them almost impossible to relate to due to how 'weird' they are.
I'm talking about risks of poor representation that ends up needlessly demonizing those with similar conditions for no good reason, other than to make those people feel bad for having the condition in the first place.
It is. I think I'd rather be dead than have to live with what that disease turns you into.

Someone like that would surely be detestable, probably living completely off the work of others and not contributing anything to society.
Maybe they could make him English, and have him totally dominate a subservient Scottish character into serving his needs for survival to the complete bewilderment of everyone else.
Some kind of blackmail perhaps.
At the same time, I dont think so far its been that bad. Two characters shouldn't represent a whole group of people, and they dont really. Just as these two characters are like what they are doesnt mean all people like that are, I look at them both as characters not groups of people.
Arvo is a villan which is pretty rare for a disabled character. Sarah is unfortunately a pretty accurate case of what would happen to someone with her condition in that scenario, or one example of what could happen at least. Neither are defined by their condition, they're developed characters.
Sarah as a character was a good show of how people with panic attacks would end up, in one scenario anyway.
Barely anyone including her or her dad seem aware of her condition
For the few that are concerned there is nothing much they can do to help her, there isnt counseling or anything
The zombies and bad guys certainly don't care and the scenario the world is in just makes the condition worse
Finally I dont think much of the hate for the characters comes from there condition. Arvo is hated for obvious reasons and the reasons hes bad is nothing to do with his condition and Sarah may not be helped by her anxiety however shes just one example of how some would deal with it, a lot of the characters problems come from her being sheltered and then subsequently ignored, rather than her condition. Her being a liability in the game also does not have much to do with her condition and while it partially is due to her condition, thats also a fair display of how the situation would be in that case.
I wasn't talking about disability representation with Arvo and Sarah in mind, I was really just talking about the topic on dyspraxia that jspoole1983 posted.
I have some mental illnesses, and I've got to say, I'd feel a lot more comfortable playing the game if there was a protagonist with a mental problem, I'd feel more connected. That's why I loved Sarah so much, she clearly had a form of PTSD and maybe Autism that made her the way she is, so I liked her character. Good idea dude.
I lose my hope for humanity sometimes and that's one of the reasons
They have shown weaker characters become stronger too however, even those who have lost a body part... so it's definitely possible in my opinion, it just depends whether TTG will make it happen :x
Is it even worth it to try to say why this probably won't happen , or at least it won't in a way that will be well received?
What is this illness that you speak of?
i have often thought it would be really cool for there to be a badass group of misfits or outcasts in the walking dead, like a group of trans, queer, goth, disabled, etc. ( society's outcasts) come together because society as it was known no longer exists, i think not only would look awesome, from a story standpoint it would be very interesting, however some of the appeal of the walking dead is that it is an extreme case of survival of the fittest, a big contrast from modern western society, so everybody would have to fulfil a purpose (or fill a niche) within the group or else (as has been said) certain people would just be seen as useless, and that would sort of defeat the idea.
