Deleted material?

While watching the preview of, "In Harm's Way", I noticed quite a few things, not shown in the actual game. I understand that the previews/trailers, aren't exactly accurate.

In case you're wondering, I'm referring to the scenes, such as Kenny and Clementine sitting and talking, the special animation with Kenny shaking/holding his head, after being hit by Carver. And the one with Carver looking at Clementine, as they watch over the parking lot. And a few other scenes.

Would those be considered deleted scenes? And thanks for the response. :3

  • Not actually deleted , but you know telltale , they often modify scenes and stuff more often .
  • Hmm not sure. I'd probably consider them "edited" scenes instead of deleted.
  • The thing that intrigues me the most was the green Hilda that didn't make the final version. This makes me wonder if Molly had originally been in this episode.
  • Also, Matthew met the group at the lodge in the House Divided teaser, making me think his death was last minute.
  • BTW has anyone noticed that Alvin in episode 2 said: "If Nick wasn't there, I probably would have shot him (=Matthew)" So what does this mean? Welll, in season 1 episode 5, if Christa and Bromid went with you to, they literally say: "If you hadn't X,we probably we wouldn't have come with you". This reflects a different route in the game.
This might be a stretch, but I'm beginning to think that Telltale planned to have option to off Nick even earlier than at the end of episode 2 like say sacrificing his life so Clem can safely escape when they're both locked up together. If he died right then and there, Alvin would have taken the shot on the bridge meaning that Alvin would have had a total of two canon ways to die in the episode. I might be talking out of my ass or maybe it was too complicated to program. I dunno, it's just a theory... A GAME THEORY!
  • Not really deleted, just changed. The scene you mentioned with Carver and Clem on the roof was most likely changed to happen in his office instead. I think they saw a lot of negative reaction to Kenny saying "At least one of us didn't give up" and made him say something different. Since they are making these games month by month things happen, they get new ideas, and it means sometimes those small details change.

The episodes are still being made by that point, so things will change by the final product I guess. Kenny really getting the beat down and his eye damage isn't even a thing in the preview, and Carver only strikes him with the revolver, not the walkie-talkie.

And likewise with what someone else mentioned, Matthew was originally shown at the ski lodge in the previous er, preview, but we only meet him on the bridge in the actual episode, meaning the thing with him dying by Nick's hand and the plotpoint of telling Walter the truth or not might been added later there, same to Carver's original design which ended being passed onto the Sir Carver Junior that is Dipship-I mean Troy.

Guess that's a cool thingy about a game released in episodes and having previews at the end, you get to see the early material made on those episodes :D
  • yeah,probably she's replaced by jane
