Take into account that whichever game you end up picking can be used to upgrade to the whole season for less money, so if you think you like either enough to eventually buy it I'd say go for that series.
If that's not the case, I think the best Strong Bad in terms of length/difficulty is Baddest of the Bands, while Dangeresque and 8-bit is enough are both pretty cool and different from your average point & click. The Last Resort is also a great choice.
