Monkey Island 5 - Clarificatioooon Please

Hey guys, long time fan here. I've heard people saying TOMI is set after a theoretical MI5. Does this mean you've written a story, or at least an outline for MI5? Have these "events" that comprise a theoretical MI5 come to pass in TOMI, and if a MI5 is ever made, is this story outline likely to be used for it?

It's a difficult question to phrase, do you need me to reword it?

It's a joke. All it means is that some time has passed since MI4.

...and that TMI has a Bond-like opening, beginning at the end of an adventure that is not documented in another game.

This isn't all that much different than how they handled the beginning of CMI. There is still no explanation whatsoever about what happened between MI2 and CMI.

sure there is. Le'chuck explains it to you in great detail in chapter 5 in CMI, you just chose not to hear it ;)

It's also explained in GREAT detail if you bought the hint book for CMI and received the "Memoirs of Guybrush Threepwood." Which is awesome by the way...funny as heck.

Edit: Apologies, the "Memoirs of Guybrush Threepwood" are actually found in MI2's hint book at the back, CMI's hint book only contains the background that says he escaped....

In Curse LeChuck explains the "behind the scenes" of SoMI & MI 2, and quite of the backstory, but as to how Guybrush escaped the Carnival of the Damned the first time and transformed back to an adult... that's still unseen.

Lets all hope the game does really well and makes a ton of money because you know Lucas will do what they always do and want to get in on that cash cow and then make the 5th game.

This is the fifth game. Pretty much all the talented LEC adventure game makers have left the company long ago, and many of them are now working at Telltale.

yeah if there is a MI5 it's more likely to come from Telltale licensed by LA, than for LA to make it themselves

They already said that the theoretical story of MI5 won't be made into a game, it's just an epic situation to give ToMI someplace to launch from.

ToMI is MI 5 in that it's the fifth MI game.

So, is TOMI considered one game, or 5?

One game, but released in five parts, like the five chapters of a Monkey Island game. Though each will probably stand alone more easily than the chapters in previous MI games.
