Let's not get too excited just yet...Telltale might choose to push the release all the way back to the 29th. If it takes them that long to work out all the episode's kinks, great, but I just wish they would TELL us sometimes.

Steam engineer here - It have 1.67GB because it contains depotmap (used by SteamACST tool to verify integrity, approx ~100MB in size) and two - "precooked" and "cooked" packages in one depot AKA master archive.
204 PC is an encrypted mirror package.
Divide that by 2 and you'll get real package size.

As for the vagueness, the release announcements are always vague until we get an actual release date. When the last ep of Wolf came out it was "soon" and then boom, we got dates the very next week. It's been almost three months between ep1 and 2, more than 2 months between 2 and 3. In a week we will have again 2 months since the last episode. Hopefully it's better than ep4 of twau.

Delays of more than 100% are not typical. A week or two would be ok, but not months.

For instance if the episode stayed a 2GB couldn't we infer there would be more speech and animation, a greater number of speech and animation would extent the length
Size tells us nothing about the length of the episode. For example all speech and animations for EP3 are about 60MB in size. The rest is mus… moreic and textures.
So IF there was be a hub (like those in S1) in EP4, we wouldn't be able to see it in the file-size

Nope, other Episodes were this big when they were added to steam, too. Ep3 peaked at 1,9GB.
