Where did you hear about TWAU for the first time?

Since Wolf is coming closer and closer to it's finale. I think it's time to go back to 2013 and talk about our first impressions about TWAU. When you heard about the game did you hate the idea? Love the idea? I would love to know!

  • First saw it on steam. It's also how I found out about the comics. :) Btw, there's no harm in playing this before reading Fables, right? :/

  • No harm at all. It's a prequel to the comics :)

  • From a youtuber named Swingpoynt. Btw, he's a great youtuber. Check him out

  • PewDiePie

  • Ok, thank you. :)

  • I was a big fan of TWDG so I checked out TT's website and saw they were making TWAU. I didn't know what expect so i bought the first episode and got engrossed from the first scene. The characters, storyline, and artwork are all amazing. I hope this is just the season finale and not series finale because I don't want it to end.

  • I shit you not, it was from a samurai cow who is the master of HATE SEX.

  • One day i entered Telltale site and saw link directing to a page saying Telltale would do a Fables game so i stated following the news until they announced that said game would be released as The Wolf Among Us

  • I've been a long time reader of the comic so I was excited, even when it took so long to come out, I was afraid it wouldn't happen. I for one have been very pleased with the result.

  • Episode 1 was free on Xbox, so I tried it out.

  • So you and @papai46 have been here back when the game was just called Fables and when Telltale were planning on making a king's quest game?

  • i saw some game play and it reminded me of drive and i love the look of it

  • I think so. I've been following the forum for awhile, until there was actually something to post about. There is so much potential for this universe, I really can't accept that there won't be more.

  • While I'm not huge on the guy. He's great at exposing games to people.

  • I saw Vinny from vinesauce play some of the first episode and decided to try it out for myself.

  • After the first season of The Walking Dead ended, I pretty much forgot about Telltale. Then I saw TWAU on steam and saw it was made by them, and considering I was very satisfied with the way they handled TWD I thought I should try this game as well. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed and I was very glad I picked it.

At first I was really curios as to how they will handle the whole fairy tale thing, but after Bigby lit up his cigarette and the intro kicked in I decided it's time for another season pass.

  • Vinny played TWAU? I thought it was Rev?

  • I was a fan of Telltale long before they announced the game. At that point, my interest came from seeing Telltale being involved.

I first heard about it online, I think and thought it looked boring. Then a local gaming magazine dick-slapped me for being so ignorant and introduced me to TWAU proper.

  • Was it Game informer? I heard about it for the first time because they had a huge article on it

  • Nah, I'm in Europe, we don't have Game Informer. Small local mag, but it had a big article all the same.

  • Shit, yeah. It was Rev. I'm mixing up my streamers ;_;

  • I was too, but I didn't pay too much mind to TWAU. For some reason, I assumed I wouldn't like it as much as I did Sam and Max, or The Walking Dead.

As usual, I was wrong. Telltale tends to suprise me.

  • Well Vinny's playing Season 2 of TWD so I can see why you could get mixed up.

  • Saw a JeremyJahns review for it.

  • Saw it on steam, bought it on impulse just because it was made by telltale.

  • Same! (Why downvote?)

I found out through PewDiePie. I remember thinking that it had a cool comic book-like style. I had already seen the Walking Dead episodes by then so it definitely was able to captivate my attention.

I've been a fan of the show since the beginning so when I noticed that there is a TWD game I've decided that i got to try it and Hell... I even like it more than the show

  • On "The Walking Dead" forums. It got me introduced to the game and the game got me introduced to the comics.

  • A friend in class told me about it, which introduced me to the comics. :)

  • I started after pewdiepie played it.

  • My dad had a demo of it on his PS3 and I played it

  • I saw it on Steam and I wasn't interested at all. But then I watched a stream of the second episode and instantly loved it.

  • Well, I've been a fan of Telltale since September 2012, so I found out about it by Telltale promoting it before it's release.

  • I first heard about it through the Media Cows (on Youtube). I don't watch a lot of their videos, but I happened to come across an episode of TWAU, and just recently purchased the Season Pass back in March. I didn't know it was a prequel based on a graphic novel, and when I found out, it didn't affect my enjoyment of the game. I don't like graphic novels very much, so I hope they actually go through with a second season to wrap up loose endings instead of relying on the original material.

  • I saw it up for pre order on steam and I saw it was made by telltale and I loved twd so much so I thought why not it should be good

  • Saw the demo, played it, and loved it. It also brought my attention the comics (Fables, Fairest, Jack of Fables, 1001 Nights of Snowfall, The Last Castle, Werewolves of the Heartland, Peter & Max, Cinderalla- Fables are Forever/From Fabletown with Love, and The Great Fables Crossover), in which I'm fully updated on. Phenomenal story :)
