Are you satisfied with how they handled Bloody Mary?

edited July 2014 in The Wolf Among Us

Anyone else feel like she didn't get enough screen time? I was disappointed that we didn't get to have an actual conversation with her (apart from a few lines). The encounter with her was what I was looking forward to more than anything in this episode. The fight as pretty cool and seeing Bigby's final form was epic but it still felt a little incomplete. I feel like her death should've been more brutal. Instead of her shattering like glass, I would've preferred her getting ripped apart like any other corpse after getting bitten in half by a giant wolf. It would've atleast been cool to hear some final words from her before she finally died.

  • Well she did look abit scared before she died

  • Who says she died? People have been saying that she 'may' have escaped while her clones were fighting Biggs, heck, she probably is standing behind our chairs right now!

  • i don't see her as the type to run off tbh

  • I don't really think Bloody Mary is dead

and it would not surprise me if she showed up in a season 2

I was hoping she'd have a brutal death too; possibly being eaten alive. Still, it wasn't bad. I also agree that her dialogue was severely lacking.

  • Maybe, just maybe, she's a cunning one.

Well, Mary certainly seemed to be enjoying herself while fighting Bigby, if you look at her, she was smiling through most of it. Even when he goes full wolf, she lets out a big satified grin.

I bet she felt just shooting him or running away would ruin the fun, or something. She's pretty sadistic. Her bio states that she's only working for the Crooked Man because she finds it "fun" , after all.

The only time she dropped her smile and looked scared was when Bigby started chargin' up his hufiin' n' puffin'

  • Exactly! I would've loved to have the option to devour her whole. Its not like Bigby hasn't eaten people before =P

Yeah they were mostly just growling like beasts the entire fight. Lol.

I imagine devouring a whole person whose entire body is made out of sharp glass shards wouldn't be too good for Bigby's digestive system xD

  • Yeah that probably would've been uncomfortable for him lol. Maybe they could've had the real Mary being all fleshy and have her clones be the ones made of glass.

  • Great episode IMO. But I do think the Bloody Mary scene was way more anti climatic then they intended.

  • I think her true form was absolutely terrifying, the way they made her eyes fade out and her tattoos glow and that weird sound she made. I don't really like the way they finished her off though. I think she should have had at least 2 fight scenes.

  • He's the Big Bad Wolf. At worst, she'd give him gas.

  • The Big Bad Wolf blew her away. I think it was an epic battle, there is a possibility of her making a return if some new Fable with resurrection powers was introduced. Just a possibility :3

  • Finally people who agree, I thought I was the only one. Her entry into the series was pretty epic. But her exit was lacking. The fight just felt rushed to me; and the way she's finished off, my god she literally dives into Bigby's mouth. I was expecting something a bit more prolonged and fluent like the fight with Jersey. I liked Bigby transformation that was the best part, seeing his true wolf form in game. But overall I thought the fight was a little sloppy, it didn't do justice to Mary's character and I found her to be a great antagonist.

Theories are funny but on this forum they are really not.

People seem to get stuck up on anything and everything that happens. Sometimes things are simple, like Bloody Mary being dead. Why else would there be blood? Cause he chewed too much glass? Give me a break. He can take millions of slashes to his body and not bleed much at all but eating a few glass bodies makes him bleed?

It would be very cool if she survived, and i'd be happy if she dead as she was an interesting character to say the least, but given what the game showed me (showed us) i dont think she survived.

  • The fist fight was a bit more intense xd

  • I'll firmly hold on to the thought that Bloody Mary survived, even if she never shows up again. It just feels like she wouldn't go down in a fight like that. And with those copies of her running around...no way she'd just let herself get chewed up like that.

And I like the thought that an urban legend like her can never truly die. That she may lose her physical body for a while, but her conscience is still around, probably stuck in all those mirrors she loves to frequent.

...Basically, I imagine Bloody Mary as a sexier version of Voldemort. You just can't get her to stay dead.

  • I agree with this. The "Huff and Puff" moment was when she realized she was in trouble. She put herself into high gear to quickly finish Bigby, but I think she lost the fight when she let her sadistic tendencies drag the fight out longer than she should have. Good for Bigby, though.

  • I agree but I also agree with them. There are a lot of points being made but with all opinions put aside there is no certain conclusion and Telltale did this on purpose. This doesn't mean that she's not dead but this doesn't mean that she isn't. At the end of the day there just isn't enough to go on either way, which seems intentional. Telltale, such clever bastards.

  • Oh no! I'm already kind of freaked out as it is. You're making it worse. Lol. I'm sitting in the dark, by myself right now and I can't get the image of her diabolical face out of my mind. She was so creepy. I found her way creepier when there was only one of her and we didn't know where she was. Ugh. It gives me chills just thinking about it. Also, that noise she made was so messed up. I'm going to bed in a bit and I didn't want to brush my teeth in front of the mirror, so I just brushed them in the kitchen instead. Lol. That's how much she freaked me out. ;-)

This was literally the best part of the episode.
