Thanks i tried and i completely agree with you the whole point of doing episodic games was for them to take players feedback and input it in the next episode.
Wow. You wrote all that on a phone! I would go nuts writing that much on a phone. Lol. I hate making mistakes and having to tap to just the … moreright spot to correct them. You're a good phone typist.
Anyways, back to the subject at hand...I agree with most everything you said. I feel like we don't really get much time to breathe anymore. That's why the hub areas were very useful in Season 1. We could relax, get to know people, form relationships and opinions based off our interactions with group members, while they did the same about Lee, not to mention, appreciate all the graphic design that went into backgrounds and scenery. It felt fully fleshed out. There's hardly any exploration anymore, of either locations or other characters. Some does exist, but when it happens it's very minimal compared to the feast of exploration we got in Season 1.
I really like TWAU and TWD S2, so these things obviously aren't enough to make me give up on the g… [view original content]
I actually didn't have a problem with Cry Wolf being short. Honestly, I couldn't even tell. Kind of similar to how S1 E5 of TWD was a shorter episode, but it was still good.
They wrapped up the story and caught the bad guys. We also got some great fight and chase scenes. What did you want to happen? I think it ended fine and didnt need a lot of filler.
Episode 4: 1 hour
Episode 5: 30 minutes
Guess what? Not only is episode 4 longer than episode 5 it's twice as long!
This is exactly what I expect from TTG.

No. People have been voting me down in other topics for things that aren't the least bit offensive. I can take people, disagreeing with me but not down voting me for no reason.
You are supposed to end with a bang. The ending just fizzled out in the end. None of my past choices made any major impact in the end.
The end was a flop.
It was not too short. Telltale gave us hints all the time how to make us play for a longer time, as well as the Fables comics (especially if you pay attention). Prince Lawrence comes before Toad. Choose the shady criminal, beat him up later. Kill anyone that threatens you or Snow. Burn the tree like it's shown in the trailer. Punch anyone that lies to you. You than will have ~1h30 for episode 5.
Iv played it more than once and each time I was disappointed with the ending. It fell short to the previous episodes. From episodes 1-4 I was expecting episode 5 to be glorious. But it just kind of fizzled for me.

It's counter-productive to attack a customer who's giving honest feedback to TellTale. The fact that he's giving feedback means that he cares. It looks "patriotic", but you're not actually helping.
he's right...people just don't like your current posts or agree with you....don't make excuses
a lot of people agree with the OP on the episode lengths....i love telltale games, but there's no comparison that the way they did TWD season 1 was the best way.
I fully support your right to give honest feedback to TellTale.
That said, I don't agree with your conclusion. I don't want them trying to make future episodes long (even if they were long before), if they are concerned that they cannot maintain the same quality at that length. For me, quality is all that matters. I'm not convinced about their excuse that people want shorter episodes, though.
I've got an honest question here, though I guess it will be downvoted. Honestly, I'm not for debating things anymore or complaining about complainers complaining. The question:
How do you people who say 90 minutes isn't enough cope when it comes to watching television and movies? Do you dislike them because they can't fit in enough development, or? Though sure, 80 - 90 minutes tends to be the minimum for films. There are still plenty made at that length.
And yes, I know, games are a different medium.
PS: Corvan, while they said they wanted to make games that people could play through in one sitting, I'm not convinced that's the reason they're short really. More a case of them being short because of the narrative they want to tell. I know Puzzlebox said above that episode 4 will be longer than the TWAU finale because that is what the story demands. (or maybe it was in a different thread)
I think people are so used to playing games that are 20 hours long or more that they can't fathom these smaller chunks of gameplay. Even if it's only $5 an episode, they still feel like they're getting ripped off. That and people have no tolerance for waiting. That's what I gleaned from most of the comments.

I might have agreed with the twenty hour mark comment if I didn't believe that most have played the first season which was a fair bit below the 20 hour mark. However, I think you might be on the mark with the money part. I've seen quite a few complaints regarding that, plus yeah, the waiting. It's amusing really, as there's one camp saying 'take longer', then there's another camp wanting the episodes released quicker.
Anyway, as expected, the dislikes are rolling right on in.

The "length" of the episode can also be contingent upon who all is playing. Some of us well... aren't as smart or as inquisitive as others so some may take longer or even less during times where you can explore or solve puzzles.
I pretty much steel myself to get half dozen thumbs downs every time I post now, lol. But at least I feel comfortable enough here to express my opinions even if no one else agrees.
See what I mean? I try to say something positive about how I enjoy this forum and am comfortable here and I get thumbed down for that. I'm sure I'm being trolled now.

I do see what you mean and it's quite likely you are being trolled.
It's good you feel comfortable enough to express your opinion. The thumbs down thing really is just more amusing to me than anything else. I'm like, 'it's a game forum, I'm not sitting here getting worked up over all of the thumbs down, so you might want to try something else.'
That said though about being comfortable here, I have noticed there being a fair few people banned of late. Every thread I view, I seem to come across someone who's been banned.

I have to agree with you here, it doesn't make any (or very little) sense for Clementine to interact in S2 as much as Lee did in S1. You can tell Clem not to trust people and things like that and you can make Clem seem mistrustful if you play that way in S2. When she meets the cabin group she can say "Screw you guys" after she's attacked by the zombie in the shed. So if she acts like this and then spends all her free time getting to know everyone, there would be no logic. I'm glad to see someone else gets that.
Look at this from the main character's persepctive.
Considering the fact that Christa is the only person that she can trust since they've… more been together for nearly two years, and considering the fact that the new group she came across left her for dead, I'm not surprised that Clementine's not exactly as thrilled as you guys are to get to know them.
You guys seemed so worked-up about your hubs that you not seeing how they can work against Clementine's character. If you want the story to work, it has to be written in a way that's believable, and a little girl talking to a group of strangers (one of which nearly killed her, one acted hostile towards her, and one suggested leaving her in a shed) just doesn't work for her or the story.
Maybe they could've done better at the ski lodge but for what they did, it works with the story.

I honestly believe they try to prevent player burn-out. Over the weekend I played episode one and two back to back and became burned out by the second episode, and I'm sure player burn-out is differentiated from player to player. I also believe that they want you coming back for more, quality over quantity. I'd rather play 30 minutes of a good quality game and want more than play 60 minutes of a bad game and feel unfulfilled. Now, when the quality of the game is compromised then I'll have a bit of a problem, but I believe Telltale has a good handle on it.
Even if you don't agree to the length of the games, you gotta admit, it's a pretty sweet ride no matter how short the ride is.
I've been thinking the exact same thing ever since I played the 1st episode of season 2 TWD. There are basically no character interactions. There are no puzzles and no exploring. What the hell ever happened to hubs? My girlfriend played Season 1 again the other day and I was amazed at how many hubs there were and puzzles and exploration it is ridiculous that Telltale has basically erased those facets of the game that made season 1 so impressive. All we can hope for is that they will listen to us and make a change for episodes 4 and 5!
Episode 4 i felt made an improvement on the Length.. I walked around took everything in and talked to everyone and examined everything.. This episode felt the longest to me... especially because I thought it was going to end as soon as we chose to leave in the morning or stay a few days.. Episode took me 1 hour and 50 minutes to finish. A step in the right direction.. Hopefully we can get a long finale.
Not just length. There was an actual point-and-click puzzle with Jane outside the trailer home, acouple hubs with optional conversations with people (just not interrogation-ish actual dialogue options), good pacing, and the characters had plenty of backstory and personality. Of all the S2 episodes, this episode felt the most like a S1 episode. And that's a good thing.

Agreed. I remember i click on everything and Nothing ever happens. Clem just goes "Oh this is."
which is really nothing. Or someone says "clem don't touch that/ don't go there".
She rarely ever interacts with anything anymore except in the beginning when she was looking for food and handling the dog and snooping around the house.

What about minigames? They should have something to do like play Rock, Paper, Scissor?
I couldnt tell either. It honestly didnt feel any shorter than any other episode and I finished it in two sittings because I had to go out.

there has not been any puzzles in twd since around every corner
I try to interact with everyone and everything given the opportunity. Still takes less than an hour and a half for this season.
I agree with you.

Shame the writing was inconsistent as hell though.
And still no meaningful conversation hubs.
Character conversation is gone. Where is it telltale? I know nothing about Luke still.
What game did you play? All I did in 204 was talk and talk and talk
Seems like they are starting to listen about length, as long as it's a good episode it doesn't bother me about the length though.
hopefully they listen for season 3.
They are aware.
But I doubt they'd make the episodes longer (Like Season 1's length)
If we make it to season 7 we may get 10 min episodes. The walking dead screen, Clem walking towards a group. Episode 1 complete.
Ehe.
No point in making an Episode 1 then?
