Monkey Island will be downloadable ?

Hi,

I'm interested buying the new Monkey Island pre-order but I live in Israel and it will take time and money for the game to arrive here.

Will I be able to download the game from your site (once released) instead of shipping it ?

    Yes. The game is episodic, so there will be a new chapter every month which can be downloaded to your PC on the release. When the season is finished, and when it is ready, you will have the option to get a free DVD with the games on (and some extra goodies) for the price of shipping.

    OK, it looks like it's about $10.

    So people who order the game AFTER the release, will get the DVD without a cover... just a black case?

    No, the people who order after June July 6 will get a different (not special Steve Purcell painted) cover. People who pre-order will get both.

    Maybe a really obv question but do we just log on to telltalegames.com and should be able to download?

    Yeah, at the top-right of the page there is an icon that looks like a joystick.. when you hover over it, it should say "Your Games". You'll download it from there.

    We'll also send out an email when the game launches on July 7, with a download link.

    Does that mean if we have pre-ordered we can get both covers? I'm sorry but I'm an insane collector when it comes to these things. I'd like to be able to have both covers! :D

    No, pre-ordering gets you the PC version. You can't pre-order the Wii version, and there is no set release date yet for the Wii version. To purchase the Wii version, when it becomes available, your only option is to go on the Wii Shop channel on your Wii and purchase it there, through Nintendo.

    I just preordered ToMI, but I actually wanted to buy it as a gift for my brother. Somehow I wasn't offered that option, and I couldn't specify a different shipping address either. Is this something I have to wait for until release?

    And correct me if I am wrong, but the preOrder only means I can download and play the game, not that I will automatically get shipped the DvDs?

    You cannot gift the game until it is released but you could log into your brothers account or create an account if he doesn't have one yet. You can gift him the account then.

    The DVDs will not get shipped automatically. You will have to place another order when the free DVD comes out if you want it. If you don't want the DVD you don't have to order it.
    The DVD will be free of charge if you bought the whole season already.

    Does an option appear (say in the Your Games section of the website) to order the DVD? How do you go about ordering it?

    When the DVD is available you log in, go to the store and put the DVD in the cart. Maybe you will have to enter the order-number of the game to make the price drop to 0$. (The Ordernumber can be seen in your telltale account in the section "Stuff you bought").

    DVD stuff doesn't happen until we're at the end of the season, at which point you can pick it up from the store or from your Games page. (We'll send out an email to all customers at the end of the season to let you know it's time to get it.)

    I knew it wouldn't be available until all the episodes were released, I was just wondering how to go about getting it after that. Thanks, question answered!
