Deaths in The Walking Dead Season 2
Hi guys i haven't been on the forum in a few weeks due to being on holiday but anyways...
I've tried to stay as optimistic as i can about this season but I don't know about the rest of you but none of the deaths in TWD S2 are affecting me emotionally. I really do wish we could of got to know the characters more.
For example, in episode one of season 2, our encounters with Nick and Sarah made me think Yes! We are going to bond with these people and have a real story with them. But when they died, there was no emotion at all there for me which is a real shame (and my emotions are easily triggered haha).
I'm really happy with Rebecca's character development in episode 4... i started to feel really close to her. But even her death didn't affect me because of previous episodes not having much communication with her.
But hey! Overall, good episode and loved the cliffhanger ending.

Even though I wanted to be bonded with the characters and feel something when they die, after 2 years of apocalypse you're not that moved by deaths as you were before.
I cried when Duck and Katjaa died, and of course, when Lee died. However, S2 doesn't have enough character development to be emotional. Carlos' death is just stupid. No chance to really talk with him, and there he goes, a few seconds and he is in pieces. He actually was one of my favorite characters, but they ruined a chance to expand upon him. I hope TTG understands that the game needs character development, but now it's too late.
I'll have to agree with you but all of them have seen a lot of people dying.I remember that someone said (not sure who) something like "I saw him dying, but it didnt affect me so much. It's like this is how the new world works, everyone is gonna die today or tommorow."(I dont remember the words one by one but it was something like this.I remember hearing it by someone,im sure I did!)
Hmmm i don't know. I still think if you really love someone, no matter when or what the situation is... you can still be sad over someones death.
Maybe its just me being an emotional person haha.
yeah completely agree Rebeccas death kinda sucked because she was becoming a cool character i was also pissed that the fact jane was just like well see ya later
Yeah, these current writers seem to be sticking with the "death is shocking" school of thought, which is really just a way to justify killing characters you don't know what to do with anymore, let's be honest here. They seem to be really good at setting characteristics and backstory up, but don't know how to deliver (Nick, Sarah, Carlos, Rebecca (to an extent), Alvin, Carver).
I felt bad when Sarah and Rebecca died. I spoke to both of them quite a bit when i could.
