Oh they already magically pulled the baby formula out of the raccoon's ass (I'm guessing). Bonnie mentions that they baby formula in ep 4. L… moreove the realism. Who the hell has been carrying around baby formula all this time? You'd think that they'd also try to drink it to get some form of caloric intake so they wouldn't starve/freeze to death from their bodies shutting down.
No.. You're risking your life for that baby and putting your friends that need YOUR help in great danger. The baby looked fine the way it is, we need to deal with the Russians first. You save the baby, then your group dies, and guess what? YOU'RE NEXT. Obviously Luke and Kenny will survive this shoot out but just saying hypothetically if they were determinant.
It's a baby. I'd feel like a dick if I didn't try to save it and I had the opportunity. Unless Junior pulls an AK-47 out of his diaper and begins dispensing lead justice, SOMEONE needs to protect him.
I can see where you're coming from. I was originally thinking that the finale would start with Clementine being surrounded by dead bodies, and about 2 of the group surviving, but yeah I would imagine we're going to be watching the people die when the episode begins,
e.g We may see Mike/Bonnie get shot in the head, Luke may be shot in the leg or Kenny may get shot in the shoulder
Makes me have second thoughts for theories too. Obviously the baby is going to be the concern in the midst of the shooting, so that could be a choice
To be fair, it's neither of their seed.. Obviously anyone in their right mind would protect their child, but the mother is dead and.. Well, you need to get rid of the danger first.

I think Bonnie will get shot but live due to the vest . We will wipe the Russians out and probably lose only 1 person likely Mike . Clem isn't getting shot.IMO I do Agree there could be a Kill Arvo or take him with us kind of choice after .
If I were to guess on who'd take the bullet I would say Bonnie as she has a lot to make up for with the group; and Clem can even say that to… more her as a dialogue option in Episode 4.
A totally better scenario would be that the bullet would hit the raccoon and everyone stops because they see "dinner" and then they feast together like the pilgrims and native americans. :P
Yeah, I'm expecting just about everyone to be a casualty, with maybe a couple of exceptions. Baby, Arvo, maybe Luke or Kenny should make it out ok. Maybe even Clem, who knows.

We could sell you 5 bottles for $20, or our special Cluke Brew for $15. With that you completely forget everything in an hour's time, in extreme conditions.
I know I already agreed with others that I would choose to fight over protecting the baby; however, now I came up with a more logical reason so I might as well point it out.
If you choose to protect the baby, you would be narrowing down the odds of your group making it out alive. Burich has an AK (which can spew out quite a few bullets out per second), Vitali has a shotgun (and the spread on it should be decent so Mike isn't the only one in the line of fire here), while Maud has a pistol. If I recall correctly, Kenny, Clem, Bonnie and Mike all have pistols and Luke has an AK. The problem here is that at the end of the scene, Luke lowers his gun to turn around and shout "NO!" so even though they outnumber the Russians, their firepower is devastatingly weaker.
With Clem and Luke not having their guns in position that leaves 3 versus 3; and that is really bad. The shotgun will most likely get Kenny, Mike and possibly Luke and Clem thanks to that lovely spread that shotguns have. The AK can hit Mike and Luke (and possibly Clem) due to the speed of which it can push out bullets. One shot from Vitali and "one" shot from Burich will send out much more damage than one shot from the handguns that the group has. The only one in a fair gunfight here would be Bonnie vs. Maud.
Now, since bullets have already been fired there will be people injured. Choosing to help the baby will leave your group with less firepower and the result could be catastrophic. Let's hope that Luke makes it out fine (after the initial shots) since he's the only one with a gun with a bit of "oomph" to it. Regardless, if you truly wanted to protect the baby in this scenario you would choose the fighting option because the baby won't be able to survive without a group. Clem raising it on her own is not an option. What if you need to climb up somewhere? What if you need to run? You need back up for that; and in order to make sure that you keep your back up you ought to join in the gunfight to provide as much additional firepower as possible.
Does that make sense? Protecting the baby leaves you vulnerable and open. If you do that then Kenny might protect you even if it would cost him some cover so he would get further injured because of this choice. To make up for Kenny being manned down the rest of the group would be strained to struggle against the firepower. However, if you choose to fight you are able to cover someone. Defense is a great offense after all. So Clem cover's someone's back and the group is able to get out of the situation much easier. Baby also gets to survive because the people in its group are not dead.
Plus, the trajectory of the bullets have no reason to hit the baby. Everyone's guns are aimed at each other's torsos and/or heads. The baby is in Rebecca's lap who is sitting and hunched over him. Thus, her body is below shooting level. Even if bullets would hit her for whatever reason, they would enter her body horizontally and not diagonally (why would anyone try to shoot someone's feet off when the vital organs and arteries are on the upper half of the body?) so baby Carver would still be safe even if some bullets passed through Rebecca's corpse.
Hope this post wasn't too much of a mess to not understand.
Are you working with the witches in TWAU? This sounds an awful lot like that memory wiping spell that'll give you nose bleeds and make you pass out.. cause I don't really want those side effects.
Depends.

I feel like that would negatively impact all three, knowing Telltale's style. Have you guys noticed that if there's ever an option for someone to be injured or killed, even if you don't take that option, they'll end up getting injured or killed soon anyways? Their existence suddenly becomes determinant.
How come it's only Kenny being mortally wounded? How about this: if you fight, Kenny protects the baby and gets mortally wounded. If you go … moreto protect the baby, Luke gets shot. If the timer runs out Bonnie's the one that helps Clementine and gets shot.

Maybe, but the injury could always lead to worse things. I don't know, I just don't trust it when you get to pick and choose for anything. Usually it ends up shitty for your favorite characters either way.

Yes. I'm sure that one 11-year old girl will be the factor that decides if the group is wiped out or if it survives. Seriously, do you think that the four adults with guns pointed at the Russians are just going to sit down and let themselves die if Clem decides to save the baby? Nothing Clem does is going to change the outcome of the firefight in any significant way, so I think it's better to make sure that the baby is safe instead of trying to be Rambo.

I hate to say it but without the mother alive the baby is a huge liability. Unless you find a place the is secure and can be fortified and supplied for years to come there is no chance of raising a little one. However, in this situation I would protect the baby. It doesn't directly sacrifice anyone else to do so. Now in another situation two people drowning kind of thing, I might let the baby go.
The question is, who's most likely dead? I think it's going to be Mike and Bonnie, while Kenny, Luke, Clementine, and the baby will survive. As for the other side, My guess is all the Russians end up dying, except Arvo.

This is great. I would choose to protect the baby, lol.

Don't worry.
I also sell Brain-soap by the bottle.
$4.99 please :P

True. I was targeting the poster's "toss the little bastard in the trash" attitude, not the morality of protect versus fight.

I'll take a case. Need to stock up for the next Clem Rule34 blitz.
I was leaning toward that side, but after hearing some of the [Fight] arguments, I'm not that sure...
Do you offer a cheaper price for a bulk sale? I feel like I'll need more of it thanks to all the crazy shit people come up with. Cluke for instance.
Yeah, I'm expecting just about everyone to be a casualty, with maybe a couple of exceptions. Baby, Arvo, maybe Luke or Kenny should make it out ok. Maybe even Clem, who knows.
Do you sell Net-Nukes? Y'know, the shit that can destroy trolls, r34ers and other asshats instantly? I'll need a shitton of those.
Depends.

Slides down a case
That is that crawford attitude.
Nice! I hope you have the funds?
This isn't cheaply made...
You need a helluva lotta holy water.

How much does one cost? And as far as holy water, I can just go wherever Clementine steps.

In that case, you get it free as long as you supply the holy water.
This is a partnership for all mankind!

YESSSSS

Splashes stunning with Brain-soap
What was that? You wanted 10 cases? Ok sir!
It's ok, it's ok, that's what counsiling's for.

Melon.
I mean, if it was in the heat of the moment, I would definitely choose the [Protect the baby] option. We came way too far to lose that baby NOW, tbh.
Oh good grief, they're making a decision that will determine the outcome of a video game. We aren't talking real life here. Chill out.

Well, if there's an option to kill someone, they're determinant. But I don't think there's a determinant injury status.

I think the real concern with the baby is bullets intended for other targets that end up hitting it.
