This has been confirmed since in 202 or 203 of playing dead when greg was interviewing I think nick or one of the writers, he said he was just starting the story for episode 5 so this should honestly tell you alot about Telltale games.
When people say they rushed episodes I really don't understand. . . like you know they have all 5 episodes done essentially before episode 1 is released. . . after wards they just make tweaks if any are needed.

Episode 2 is the best imo. It's really well written, unlike Episodes 3 and 4. Episode 1 is alright, but it was a very weak episode.
