Who thinks Kenny will be the next playable character in season 3?

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

I do.
Here's why.

In season 1, we got to play as Lee.
With goal of taking care of Clementine, and always asking the question: "How do I do so?"

In season 2, we've got to play as Clementine, and the main question being: "Who do I trust?"

I think Kenny would be a great character to play as.
You'd get to see TWD, through the eyes of a man who's has lost almost everything, and everyone he's ever cared for.
And the main question with such a character, considering all he's been through, would be: "Will I keep going? Will I keep moving forward, and how will I do that?"

  • Not me :P

  • I agree, I don't want to play as Clementine anymore.. I hate playing as a freakin' 11 year old girl

  • Ok, I do want a new playable character, but its not because Clem is a "freakin' 11 year old girl." Its because I feel she has reached the end of her story arc and I want to see this world in the eyes of someone new.

I didn't say that was the main reason why, but I agree with you.

I hate playing as Clementine because:
    1. I want to play as an adult

    1. I want a new protagonist with a different story. <-- Main Reason

    2. TellTale makes her soo OP.. How can an 11 year old girl kick down doors or even take down a zombie twice or size??

I really hope when Telltale makes Season 3, they don't put her in it.

I would suggest either Kenny as a protagonist or a completely new character with a fresh story. If Kenny is the protagonist, then it would be interesting to start growing our own community where Kenny is the leader and have a camp like Carver did. Scavenge for supplies from time to time and growing our own food. Have to deal with other camps, bandits and so on...

  • This would not work, as Kenny already has set characteristics. Lee and Clementine work as PCs they don't have set characteristics. Ex: Lets say Larry got his own DLC, and you got to play as him in it. You could get options to be nice to Lee, and options to be less aggressive. But having options like this for Larry would not make sense, because we all know Larry hated Lee and was very aggressive. A similar problem would occur if you were playing as Kenny: you could end up playing him completely out of character.

  • I don't want to play with Kenny in season 3.

But I'm sure as hell that I want to play with Kenny in a DLC.

I like Kenny but him being a playable character would be weird. I wouldn't like that at all. And he's already got an established personality so giving different dialogue choices could possibly leave him out of character and that wouldn't be as fun.

  • I agree. Season 2 hasn't handled Clementine well at all and doesn't even treat her like a child with the ease she can do things without even a little help. Might as well make an adult the player character again at this rate.

  • I'm hoping he'll be dead before Season 3.

  • Let's hope not.

    Heh, eye*

And no, I don't think playing as Kenny makes sense. He got a set personality throughout these 2 seasons and should stay that way.

  • No. Kenny is already a character with a planned out personality. To give us control him now, we could entirely make him the opposite of what he is. I'd rather not.

  • I could see playing is Kenny in season 3 if Clementine died at the end of season 2 and you got to choose his personality in season 3 after he has lost so much. He can start again.

  • How about no?

  • No I want Clem as playable character in S3.

I think it is totally possible for Kenny to become lead protagonist, why else would they bring him back, just to kill him in the next season? I don't buy it. Then again this is Telltale. I personally do not want to play as Clementine. I am done playing a 11 year old girl. To be honest i don't think she will survive the next episode anyways after what Jane said as possible foreshadowing.

I kind of want to play as Arvo

That sounds like Lee, until he found Clementine. Lost his wife, his job, on his way to prison, estranged fom his family who ended up dead. Yeah, we've seen it.

  • Clementine fans are now the worst fans, they're worse than the Kenny Fans at this point. I can't wait till Clementine does kick the bucket, because "no one stays lucky forever." Then your going to hear a lot of NYAH NYAH NYAH NYAH NYAH.

  • The adult protagonist gets dull very fast. I get bored too fast when I play as an adult. It's cliché. A child character is refreshing, hence why I play S2 more than other games.

I have no problem with a new protagonist, I just feel it should wait till later on, cuz Season 2 is building up something in Clem's story. If they switch to someone new off the bat, scrapping all the build up made, that would be HUGE disappointment to the story. Take Rick's story for example, his is still building up but slowly.

I'm pretty sure the wood was corroded pretty badly where the lock was, being 2 years in the apocalypse and for god knows how that door's been around. And uh... she can take a walker out with a weapon and she can kick their knees to make them fall to kill them quickly.

So yeah... I don't see a problem with Clem's character besides how she does a lot of the work. There's a chance Telltale can learn from this and improve on they can make the adults seem not as stupid.

I didn't say that was the main reason why, but I agree with you. I hate playing as Clementine because: 1. I want to play as an adult

  • It was a DLC.

  • Kenny is cool but I couldn't play as him. He's got a very stubborn type of personality where I think its better seeing him from the outside. I hope he's still alive by then because he's awesome. But playing as him, no thanks.

  • this idea is terrible

  • they are not as bad as keny fans come on

Nope. I don't see how he can work. He's a fully developed character with his own set of personality. Plus, I'm getting real tired of his shit. His story is endless cycle. Relatively calm the start, shit hits the fan so he does something reckless, he does something drastic to a character, loses someone close to him, hides in a corner feeling sorry for himself, finds a purpose, barking out orders to keep moving to a destination (S1 Savannah for a boat, S2 Wellington= practically boat 2.0), and just watch: in the end the path goes all to hell and people get killed. It would be very boring if we play as him and it's the SAME shit in Season 3(BUT I will try it out in demo even if he does become the protagonist, cuz I'm a massive fan of the universe).

Come on Kenneth fans! Let's see some of that hate!
