Am I the only one who doesn't hate Carver?

When Carver invited you to the office, I agreed to help him, and I was somewhat disappointed that it didn't go anywhere.
I was even more pissed that I had to do all the dirty work for the cabin crew, with the game giving me no option to back out. Being a kid and all, I could have easily told them that I won't do it. The rest of them would have gotten nowhere without my help.
Still my favorite scenes this season so far are all with Carver: the cabin, the office, and the end of episode 3 (when Clem stayed). I loved them for how well Clem kept her cool.
I understand some people liked the people Carver killed, but since I didn't care about them, the only real thing to hold against him is the implication that he is a rapist.

I really wish they made Carver less of a sadistic asshole, and more like how they presented him in episode 2. Would have made his character more interesting.
Carver was right about the group having it good but the only negative aspects of him was he murdered and beat Kenny. Otherwise I would agree I don't hate him.
Caver was pretty stupid actually.
He had a safe place, food, weapons. If he wasn't a stupid sadistic that slaves people, everybody could be safer;
Yeah can't argue with this statement.
Well, I absolutely loved the direction Carver's character was heading at the time he was introduced. The prospect of having an antagonist for the first time in TWD game left me really hopeful and excited to see what Telltale has in store for us.
However, episode three comes out, and I dare say from the first damn minute Carver's character and potential is wasted. It's my only major gripe with this season. To answer your question, I loved Carver from episode two....I'm disappointed with the one from episode three:).
Yeah I agree.
I agree. I really liked his character in Episode 2.
Now that I think of it... I didn't really hate him per say(except for when he slapped Clementine and when he non-canon kills her).
I feel like they had to exaggerate him, to give us a good reason to leave the place. Because technically the place was really good, and leaving would be a stupid idea, if Carver was slightly more level headed, and especially if Carver only had beef with the original cabin crew.
When he kills her, everything has gone to s**t, he has lost it, and he doesn't care who dies anymore. Can't blame him really, in that moment.
I didn't really get that slapping though. He wanted people to be strong, but there he slapped Clem for simply being "unpolite". I guess it's part of expressing his authority, and showing who is in charge, but still I found that odd.
He wanted to make an example of Kenny. To show that they should not be messed with. Though I am not sure if a community based on fear is exactly the best one. Or maybe that's what he wants, to find out who are strong enough, who can handle it, and don't crack under pressure. He only wants people who think like him.
I wasn't really sure about that. So that's good to hear. I don't mind Clem becoming like him. Slightly more level headed, but just as capable of getting rid of the weak.
Imagine Carver in the Season 1 community. He would have killed Ben (as he was clearly a weak link), and saved like 4 or 5 others in the process.
He made me furious a couple times but i thought he was funny.
Am i the only who was expecting Carver to shoot Kenny with his pistol whenever Kenny went for the crowbar? I was at the edge of my seat lol.
Carver was a dick, but he had his good and bad moments in 202 and 203. I thought it was sort of wasted potential and i would've preferred if they left his fate 'unknown' and have it be "explored" later on in the season.
"You wanna run off with this dogshit group of crippled fucks?"
Carver slaps Clem for staring at him
Carver praises Clem that she told him to die
Irony
Well even after he had shown that he isn't afraid to be violent towards her, Clem still had the guts to say that to his face. So I guess he was just impressed. He also probably was in good mood, gave the discussion some thought as well, instead of the kneejerk reaction of slapping her. That's one way to put it.
Clem being like him in a way would be good, but not as Governor-Like and not as harsh towards others.... #BadassClem...
i heard the reason why he got killed in ep3 beacuse TT didnt pay him what he wanted or something like that
I didn't hate him, he was one of my favorite characters of the season.
That might be part.of it, Damn Rewrites....
Agree completely. Though it made for one epic scene at the end. I love how at first Clem kind of flinched, but then, she just accepted it, and it changed to this cold look on her face.
My favorite.
Yeah. Some of the writers are obviously better than others, unfortunately.
I don't hate him but I do think they really drove him up a wall in episode 3 and he became super uncomfortable. I guess it can be a little tiring to throw all the evil tropes on a guy instead of making a complex villain. While if he's a rapist or not is up in the air we DO know he's a child abuser and hits children.![:/ :/](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
When I first saw him in Episode 2, I was amazed. He had such a great potential! Not gonna lie, if he wasn't a villain, he'd be a man of my dream. Intelligent, smart, charismatic, but at the same time very mysterious and creepy. I was very pumped to see him in action because he looked like a great villain. But then came Episode 3.... I don't even want to talk about it.
But Carver is still one of my favorite character. I wish he could have more development.
I liked him better in episode 2. But he's still the most memorable character this season.
Youre trying to say that because you didnt like those characters their deaths didnt matter?
He wasn't very intimidating to me throughout episode 2 and 3. But i can't say i liked him.
So torturing a man in front of his vulnerable daughter and forcing him to hit her; murdering a guy just for not cutting berries; hitting a little girl and possibly even shooting her; threatening to shoot a pregnant woman - that's all a-okay.
Good god, some of you guys will excuse Hitler.
Lilly would have been the same way, yet people hate her for that.
He's not an asshole.
Most people love villains, especially nowadays.
I seen nothing but love for Lily.
I didn't hate Carver, but I felt like he could've been a lot more developed.
He doesn't say it's okay. He just tells that Carver was a good character. Theres a difference between good characters and good people.
Shut up square, it's a video game. We don't want to see nice and happy things happen.
He's a good villain, but the OP was talking about wanting to help him and not really caring about him being a murderer. There's a definite difference between liking a character for being evil, and liking them because you want to be like them.
P.S. I love your nickname for me, "BadassM"! It makes me feel nice and happy inside.![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Why wouldn't a villain be the man of your dreams?
We don't care about him being a murderer because it's fiction. There's a lot of real life murderers you people hail as "heroes" and "leaders".
So I'm guessing you include yourself amongst those "people."
