  • Who wants to bet Playing Dead isn't seeing the light of day again after this fiasco?

I doubt it comes back until Season 3, that is if it comes back at all...

But wow that Greg Miller guy is a just a total douchebag! How the fuck does he even have a job doing this kind of stuff?

The fans are pissed how Greg and 2 Telltale employees laughed at how Sarah was "not normal" (Greg's quote),they treated her with such disres

  • I'm not excited about Season 3 any more...

Telltale really fucked up with posting this no problem, not even realising the consequences...kinda ironic

I don't even know where to begin with this. This whole Greg Miller bullshit IGN "interview" (if you could even call it that, since he talks

  • Greg and Telltale both need to apologize for letting this happen. Doubt that'll happen, though.

  • i was gonna stay clear of this but he clearly doesn't realise his actions aswell as Telltales have real impact on peoples lives who identify with Sarah. his response is just ego driven garbage.

edit: I'm so exhausted by this I'm just pasting this from what I added to the top.

Telltale Games is constantly praised as being the front runners of the industry. They were known for their exceptional storytelling and a hugely diverse and interesting range of characters. This was what Telltale's dedicated fanbase loves them for, expecting a groundbreaking and intelligent new story to play out this season.

Characters like Sarah and Nick were hated by a large number of people simply because they existed, but we recognized the value that they bring to a story, and were immensely grateful simply because they did existed. We were completely confident that these characters would continue to be important, and that even though the events may not be merciful to them, that the writers would continue to treat them respectfully and purposefully.

But instead, now, those very same people who were once the strongest defenders and biggest fans of Telltale, have been rewarded by being marginalized, mocked, and ignored. Now, those whose who once had the utmost confidence that Telltale was too good to play into lazy stereotypes are being laughed at, not only by other fans, but by Telltale themselves in that ridiculous new IGN "interview".

The Telltale employees, instead of defending this character or pointing out that her death was supposed to mean something to the story, nodded and laughed at the delight of a grown man who was happy to see a fifteen year old eaten alive, simply because "she wasn't normal". So now where are all the people going on and on that Sarah's death did actually mean something? Now what about the people insisting that it wasn't just lazy and offensive writing? Is this really "what the Walking Dead is all about"? Mocking and laughing at how a character was not "normal", and that it was so funny that her fans had to slap her in order to save her, and it was so well written and about the THEMES!!!1!! when Sarah conveniently died in that very same episode with no reaction, emotion, or effort?

This unprofessional and offensive new interview only confirms what so many people have been trying so hard to deny. The writing is not only totally weak, it is completely disgusting.

Shame on you, Telltale. I'm not taking it back anytime soon.

  • Christ. I thought that you couldn't possibly be this much of an asshole, but ladies and gentlemen, Greg Miller proves me wrong.

Does he not get that people see themselves in Sarah and that saying all those horrible things about her actually hurts them?

    Holy shit.

  • Someone please tell Greg Miller that he does not live in "the apocalypse", he is a grown man living in the real world and he has to deal with the repercussions of publicly saying he hated a character and wanted her dead because she was disabled.

Just wanted to show everyone that Telltale chose to favorite one of Greg Miller's tweets.

  • THIS! I can't even BEGIN to describe how tired I am of it. People cannot excuse the complete lack of empathy that is shown toward Sarah, simply because of WHO SHE IS. People cannot ignore what is being expressed on the grounds of "it's just a video game" or "this is the apocalypse". This interview was endorsed and broadcasted by the very same company who created this character only to publicly mock and belittle her and by extension, anyone who empathized or identified with her.

You cannot excuse that with "it's the apocalypse", this is "just a video game". The media has a direct and substantial affect on people, it's a huge factor in how people are percieved, it affects public consciousness. And yet, again and again people try to excuse it, "it's just a video game." No. You cannot and you will not ever be able to excuse such a viewpoint because "it's not real".

AngryJoe is the only good game reviewer left and the one I trust the most. He's very honest about what he reviews and is not afraid to call a game out if it sucks. ModernWarNegro is my second most trusted as he is extremely honest but doesn't go into as much detail as AngryJoe does. ModernWarNegro's reviews are shorter and AngryJoe's are longer (Like15-30 mins longer!). You should definitely check them both out! Hope this helped ;)

  • They're forced to laugh alongside or else it would be awkward. These interviews are a good advertisement almost, for Telltale. They don't want to piss off Greg or argue or else they'll fall on bad terms.

Who's worse? Telltale employees (who laugh along side with Greg about Sarah and not defending her at all) or Greg (who always bashes something in video games)?

  • Like I said before they're forced to so they can maintain a healthy relationship with IGN so they can report the news and continue to interview them. Its like an advertisement.

  • Really Telltale? I don't want Clem to become a emotionless Lara Croft, she deserves better than that ! :(

Just wanted to show everyone that Telltale chose to favorite one of Greg Miller's tweets.

  • Only shitty memories of Playing Dead should remain.

-looks at screenshot- Whoa hey, that's me.

  • ROFL bitch please

    Lookie Lookie

  • I think the entire Sarah situation reminds me (once again) about Hollywood - anyone injured or disabled WILL bite the dust as soon as an opportunity arise, and unfortunately, TTG has taken impression of that.

Now, I do think that in most disasters, the people who will die first are the ones too weak to get away - small children, elderly, disabled people. But here's the kicker: they CAN make it. That was why I saw in Sarah one of the first really original characters - a not too bright teenage girl. And also, because she was such a rare character, I wanted to keep her as long as possible.

And then TTG comes along and not only shit all over that ideabut no one cared one bit. I don't mind that she died really, or that she died in a pointless way (shit happens), but that no one cared about it. I mean, blink and you miss that she died in the first place!

  • I just read through that, and Greg being hsi douchebaggery self says (last panels):

"And it's like, I'm not gonna take you [Sarah] on, right? I thought this is a great example of just having a breakdown after everything that has happened and being like, locked in her room and not being able to talk to Luke about it" (ok, I get what he says here, and I recognize that thought)

"I was like, 'Well, I hate you even more now'"

    Douchebaggery at its finest.

You know, before this I actually kind of liked Greg. He wasn't as good as AJ, but he was ok. After this though I am not going to watch the Playing Dead anymore.

  • So people can go on and on about how the disabled children in the game suck and they can't wait to violently kill them, without consequence or mod intervention.

But as soon as critical topics defending the characters start being posted, suddenly freedom of speech doesn't count anymore. Classy.

  • Yes. I think this may be my final straw. I'm just gonna stick around for a little bit to see if anything else happens, and then I'm out. It's like they don't even care anymore.

  • I actually like Greg Miller. I am not going to fan boy over him, but I feel everyone is taking this the wrong way. He's meaning in the apocalypse everyone is the same, all survivors. I don't see how this is offensive in any way. I may be taking your viewpoints in a wrong manner though if so sorry.

  • To be fair he is right it's his opinion on a fictional character if you don't agree with it so what? You have your own opinion on the issue don't attack someone for there opinion just because you don't agree with them.

  • Greg is refusing to acknowledge that his behavior was not only unprofessional but extremely ignorant and offensive. This isn't a matter of "well we disagree so I hate you". This isn't just people's feelings being hurt. Disabled people like Sarah have been physically abused and killed just because they exist. And then Greg comes along, joining the thousands of others who hate her and want her dead because she did exist.

It's pretty common knowledge that the media has an obvious effect on how people see and treat people in their lives. You can't excuse it because "it's an opinion" or "it's not real". These things have influence and effects, and they are very real.

  • On the whole issue about Greg Miller let's look back to season 1. A smart man said "You're just alive," people loved him and he implied the same thing to Clem saying that she'll die if she doesn't learn to survive. In episode 4 of Season 2 you could argue we were never given the chance to teach Sarah to survive that's true and well enough. BUT it was never our job to take care of her and to teach her, that was her father's he fucked up by wanting Sarah to remain innocent and unknowing of the world they live in. In my opinion I'm glad they killed her off, but I don't laugh about her death. She probably wouldn't have been able to continue for long and in the situation she was in, she was practically dead weight.
