A theory to the slide of the Amid The Ruins

So we saw Doug/Carly and the 400 days characters..

Pizza and Ice Cream.. It could refer to another Doug/Carly situation? With the current characters?
Like Saving Mike and Bonnie
Or Luke and Kenny

Or hell

Save either Mike & Bonnie or Luke & Kenny.

And whoever sticks with you is determinant. Like the 400 days characters? Since whoever you save is determinant..
Likely? NO?

  • Think about it, why would Job be putting so much emphasis on Pizza or Ice Cream?

  • Cookie or donut?

  • Cookie! Donut, I dunno.. Makes my stomach sick after I eat it

    Cookie or donut?

  • It's probably foreshadowing the future....

And using Amid The Ruins as character development.

  • And he so conveniently described episode 5 as being Pizza and Ice Cream: You can't have both!

  • Damn it I'll just be quiet. The episode is exciting enough. It's just that Job's teasing on Pizza or Ice Cream and the slide of Amid The Ruins got me speculating.

  • The episode was originally going to be much different. The original menu theme had an ominous horn playing in the background, and the presence of shadowy figures in the dead of night seems to indicate to me that Clementine would have been caught in a battle between strangers.

To be quite honest, Amid The Ruins really failed to use the Civil War location very effectively. All it amounted to was a bunch of silly angst between characters who never actually come to blows. If it were up to me, Amid The Ruins would have literally been about a small civil war between Carver's group and Clem's friends.

  • I think the main theme was do you help the wounded?

    Like that statue..

  • I think it's a metaphor, a lot of people died this episode. Clem thinks it's her fault, so their blood is on her hands.

  • Since the Civil War fought about slaves, and Clem's group escaped because they didn't want to be slaves. And they could've had a big battle between Clem's group and the remains of Carver's camp.

  • Yes, I was honestly hoping that would be the case. It'd be a much more interesting (if also costly) episode for Clem to be caught in the crossfire of a small-scale post apocalyptic war.

The civil war wasn't about guys bickering over losing their girlfriends.
