Why would people escape from a place like that? As long as you follow the rules, you will be treated fine. It's a well defended safe place to sleep in and there will be food and drink.

First For some contrived reason, I've found myself in this group of people before things really go to hell. What do I really know of anyone? Apparently Carver's a good guy. Apparently they're all good guys, until Carver decides to take things into his own hands. During or after this, a few people run away, one of them pregnant, and it's common knowledge that Carver and said pregnant survivor had an affair. If you misbehave, you get thrown in prison, which isn't far off from how most civilizations are run. Usually the details are fuzzy or outright lies, but that doesn't change what I know, or at least what I think I do. Later, they find some lady hanging suspiciously close to the camp, covering themselves in guts and refusing to communicate. They capture her, stick her in prison, and through all this she's refused to say a word(far as I know, Troy knows differently).
So far, this seems legit, so I'd follow the rules. Then, they catch the cabin group. Let's assume I've got chores to do, so I don't know what's going on with Alvin. But when one of the people in prison loses an arm and later goes missing, that's when I take notice. Nobody's talking about an escape, just he went missing. Something's wrong. I don't have enough information or time to come to the right conclusion before things go to hell, so I'm pretty much stuck holding down the fort with the rest of them the moment the intercom comes blaring through the outside speakers. Assuming I survive and notice Carver's battered corpse, it becomes clear to me. I've had the wool pulled over my eyes, and damn does it feel good to see clearly.
Second For some contrived reason, I'm held against my will and I already know Carver's bad news bears. I'm pretty sure he calls everyone in for an interview to assure that they're either loyal or cooperative, so when it's my turn, I'll lay it all out on the table: "I don't think you deserve to live any longer than I can allow"(this would most likely get me killed when Kenny starts taking a beating, so I'd prefer the first scenario). Can't cut and run really, not on my own, so my best bet is during and/or after the first time the cabin group tries. I think we can assume that, based on Carlos' interactions with Carver, the group would've liked to make sure he was dead if they could have the first time around, but for likely and unknown reasons, couldn't. Second time around? Give me a gun and I'll teach Kenny how to conserve ammo.
Become Carver's right hand man until the time that he is able to be 'forcibly replaced'. We'd run things by a pretty survivalist standpoint either way, but we certainly wouldn't be cruel like him. Think of it as a giant community of Jane-like individuals. We may steal your stuff, but we won't directly shoot you in the face if we can help it.
I'm thirteen, he would probably end up beating me, I'm a fuckin' rebel, or I would be his BFF, and we would abandon the hole community and ride into the sunset on unicorns.

Well, it's run by a sadistic piece of human trash. Seems like a good enough reason to try and escape.
There are two possible scenarios.

i would take massively smelly shits and clog carvers toilet then blame it on characters such as Clementine or Sarah
She gets my vote for using the "Excuse me, sir, but that's some BS right there." line. That's like my favorite thing to do.
I'd sleep with him, then kill him like Andrea should've done with the Governor
If only I was older, I'd sleep with him too. But not kill thim though.

Yep, I'm a guy.
Am I not good enough anymore?
No. Carver is hotter than you, tbh.
Still so sure?
As sure as I never was.
VS.
I get that Carver is handsome and all, but how can I not win?
Because you're not handsome, Gustav. Face the truth.
I guess I'd kiss his ass all day long.
...
I crie evrytim
Same. I'd basically be Reggie, just with two arms.
I would go along at first.
After all, that is not a bad life, more than you can wish for if you're alone.
Sure, the rules are really strict and Carver is a fucking psychopath, but if you just do your job, you'll (probably) be fine.
But I'd keep a secret knife/little revolver or something, and as soon as Carver tries some shit to hurt me or my friends, I'd kill him.
Kill him in his sleep. Make it seem like a raccoon or something did it.
Get people to turn against him, be an ass kisser for a while, become a guard then when I'm close enough BAM! We revolt and kill the asswipe.
If that don't work then I'd just get some of guns then shoot my way out of there. I dunno. I'll improvise.![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
I'd go there, take shit tons of food, and then leave.
