Thoughts About; Episode 4: Amid The Ruins
UPDATE:
Arvo was acting suspicious with the medicines after all, he was hiding it from his group (obviously). Clementine should've told the others that Arvo manipulated his group and told them that we are to blame for the missing medicines. Kenny would've probably killed him and it would've been good riddance. we will definitely hear more about this in season 3.
Alright. before you read all of this I need you to know this:
- I started this discussion because I don't agree with a few chapters of the build of Episode 4: Amid The Ruins.
- I don't agree with the fact that Arvo and his group behavior don't change after you decide to NOT rob Arvo from his supplies.
- and I made two examples in this discussion where I added a few optional dialogues that I wish that they would be in the game.
- You need to read carefully and not scroll all the way down to understand... (obviously)
Today I would like to talk about The Walking Dead season 2, Episode 4: Omid The Ruins.
I would like to talk about the part where you meet Arvo.
Here's Arvo holding a bag full of medicine.
and here's jane surprising Arvo.
So at some point, you are given the opportunity to decide whether you steal the medical supplies or return them to arvo.
As you can see, I added two dialogues that I wish would be there, it would make everything a lot easier. especialy after the part where Arvo mentions about his "friends in the woods":
But sadly, these options are not available in the game. so I chose to return the bag:
Then Jane comes around... f**king it all up... Jane grabs Arvo points her gun to his face and threatens him;
Jane: "Next time I see you around..."
Jane messed up.
Alright so after that, Arvo went off with his precious medicines back to his people... and then the next morning, Clementine and the group decide to travel..., guess who shows up middle in the road?...

So then this B**ch be all like:

So if that wasn't surprisingly enough, this happend:

*After that I thought by myself: What the f**k? What the actually f**k?! we didn't took your precious supplies! Jane just took your gun... for safe keeping y'know..*
Arvo: "Where's the woman?"
Clementine:
Arvo: "It's a trap, I know it!"
*I thought by myself, when this is all over, you will have two options;*
but anyway... let's move on.
Okay so after that everyone started argueing and everything went intense, while Rebecca was still sitting there with her baby. Rebecca died in the meanwhile and she was about to turn and Clementine was the only one that saw it happening:
As you might have noticed, I've also added two new options here, that I wish they would be there.
So yeah... my point of this discussion:

It's just wrong. You can't tell your group that a kid and a woman robbed you when they didn't. They should've at least changed their behavior if you chose to return the supplies.

Love what you wrote there. I agree with everything you said. We should have gotten more options how to react. Especially the Arvo thing. I wanted to shoot him so bad when I met him on the observation deck. It was stupid as hell to let him go.

In my opinion episode 4 had shitty writing, Yes, yes it was highly emotional, but trying to give us feels shouldn't be primary focus. The choices were so irrelevant, that the whole episode would have looked better without them. That Arvo part at the end of the episode got me very dissapointed because i was the one that didn't steal from him. Such a waste... those choices had so much potential.
That's pretty much the point of this discussion
Does anyone get the feeling that Arvo could be the Ben of the Russian group? I like to think he stole the medicine from his group to provide for his sick sister. In the scenario where you don't rob Arvo, I wouldn't be surprised if it turns out he only blames Clem for robbing him to rid any suspicion around him.
Would Lee Everett be protesting in Ferguson MO? Or would he avoid the area to avoid being arrested and brought back to jail.
