Clementine's kind of a boring character
Every line she has is said with the most monotonous voice possible. Almost as if she knows she is a video game character but is bored to death with her role or some shit.
In S1 she is shy and innocent and it works well with her character. But in S2 Telltale wanted Clem to shed her old qualities so that she could be more able and mature. This transition is a failure because now she has neither of those personalities and is emotionless. It doesn't help that shes the main character.
To make matters worse, all the other characters listen to what she says as if she isn't an 11 year old girl. Whatever a little girl says is what goes around the group, essentially making her the de-facto leader, which is kinda non-believable.
S2EP4 SPOILERS BELOW
-Jane wants to steal some meds but Clem says no. Jane obeys.
-Clem orders Mike to help fight the walkers. Mike obeys.
(Most implausible scenario -->) -Kenny wants to hit the trail as soon as possible but Luke says they should wait, citing Rebecca's health. Clem voices her opinion and they all obey.
I still like season 2 and have fun playing it, but i find The Wolf Among Us to be much more fascinating.

The only problem I have with Clementine is that she has two modes of voice:
Shes 11, yes, but not a regular 11 year old. Shes far more mature and they all respect her, and ofcourse they will "obey" since Clem is the protagonist. What do you expect?
Have my downvote... oh well.
It's because if they don't obey, they know that Lee's ghost will come and kick their asses! And oh my god, she is Clem. Her cuteness makes them obey.

The plot demands it.
Nah, she's interesting as hell. This little girl has lost dozens of people close to her and is constantly going through hell... Yet, because of what she's lost, she's more adapted to the apocalypse than the vast majority of the adults. I'd say it's more than understandable that her tone is generally low and monotonous, because she has absolutely no reason to show any happiness considering what she's gone through. She's a girl whose innocence is quickly fading away.
I don't think there could possibly be a more intriguing character... We've seen her go from happy go-lucky eight year-old who'd spend most of her time sitting in her tree-house playing make believe to a hardened eleven year-old with her mind set on survival.
They wouldn't want to mess with this:
She's a traumatized, shell-shocked, depressed girl who suppresses her emotions, explicitly looks down upon "childish' behavior, and carries a lot of self-loathing and anger.
So she's a miserable kid. That, unfortunately, is what happens when a child goes through the amount of trauma that she does.
Frankly, I disagree. I feel she's the same character from season one, she's just aged and matured thanks to the World around her.
Lee's death and the fact that she was forced to realize that her parents were zombified broke something inside of her. But really, in Season 2, it's up to you wether she's an interesting character or not. I enjoy picking answers, and really, characters maturing is all TWD is about. Did you read the Comics? It's always been a story about how people react in an extreme situation. Rick in Issue 125 barely comparable to the Rick he was in Issue 1, but he's the same guy. It fits, I don't know why, but I feel good about the character development (regarding Clem).
Yeah, some stuff is unrealistic in the second season because she's often treated as an adult. Still, she's shown what she is capable of and at this point It'd rather feel off if she'd be treated like a child suddenly IMO.
My little sister is 11 years old (just like Clem), and she's very immature compared to her. But then again, she did not have to grow up in a Zombie apocalypse. I think that the Childhoods over once a flesh-eating monster tried to kill you.
And of course, Clem's super tough. And super cool. puts on sunglasses
well... i don't expect people to listen to Clem JUST because she is the protagonist. Its not really how it works in most stories.
I've already seen dozens of threads and posts about this...and we have another thread like this. Again.
Nope, they wouldn't, because if they do, they'll regret it.
lol made me laugh
hmm i dont ever post here so i wouldn't know. Sowwy
If there was downvote button, you was already at 500 lol
However, how Bokor says, she's a little girl traumatized by all the people who she lost... I think it's right like it is, because they are real emotions of Clem.
I completely agree with you, that's why I don't like playing as Clem.
Btw If the dislike button was still here, you would probably have 70+ dislikes
Its alright bro, here have a cookie:
I'd rather play as a traumatized, depressed girl than anyone else because it's so interesting to see her develop further. Who knows what's gonna happen? She could completely crack at any moment or eventually bury all of her emotions to the point that she doesn't care about anyone.

Guys please stop that downvote shit. It's pretty annoying and he shared a legitimate opinion. Geez.
Totally agree, Hazzer. This sounds like another case of someone wanting her to be exactly like she was in season 1.
Yep, but some of the situations where she proved herself seemed unrealistic.
Carlos tried to treat her like a kid and she wasnt having that. They treat her the way they do because she has earned their respect and has proven herself. I dont see anything wrong with it.
lol i wish there was a dislike button... Itd be really interesting to see where i stand. Such is life
things happening because they are the protagonist = bad/unbelievable story
Season 2 hasn't really done much justice for Clementines story... I love TTG games but I was expecting something much better.
^This. I seriously can't believe people complain about this all the time. It wouldn't make any sense for her to still be the optimistic child she was in the first season.
yeah! I noticed that most of the characters have strange voice acting voices. all except who? CARVER. and why is that? because Michael Madsen is actually an actor!!! his voice is by far the most smooth, realistic voice of the entire series. even Lee last season had some hiccups with certain situations that his voice sounds displaced. ya know? in every Carver scene, he is flawless no matter what the situation is...
You forgot always blaming herself for the deaths of people she cares about(Lee, Omid, etc.)
I hate clementines voice. its just a monotone and its horrible....
I'm pretty sure her voice is supposed to be like that because she has been through trauma. She sounded a lot more expressive last season because she hadn't lost as many people and seen as much shit. (She spent the majority of last season believing that her parents were alive, I think seeing them die and then losing Lee right after was probably the breaking point, but I'd have to watch S2E1 again and listen to her voice to be sure. .-. )
I agree 100%.
I think its kind of funny since we only lost the downvote button yesterday. If people were still doing it a week from now it might get old.
They are all actors. I love Michael Madsen as Carver but this is an insult to everyone else.
It's telling that the first time we see Clem as an 11-year-old is with a thousand-yard stare. That sets the precedent for the broken, exhausted person she is.
Whether she can regain or even retain her hope is a question that is yet to be answered.
Well, after playing as Clem this whole season 2, I assume that you've had more than enough time to see her develop further.
I agree, i think the only voice, i remember people had a issue with was Reggie. I loved the guy who did Ben's voice. He was like in his 20s doing a voice for a 16+17 year old kid.
I once started a discussion similar to this, got 10 likes and about 70 dislikes
