Molly (Hilda) vs. Jane (Nail File) Who would you rather have?

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

Who would you rather have as a companion in The Walking Dead Universe?

Personally I would pick Molly because she seems more likely to help you if you are in trouble example when she threw her ice pick to Lee in S1 E4. Plus she has a ice pick and she loved her sister. Whereas Jane she only has a nail file which she may have given away, but she has a more badass its me vs. the world attitude. She also has this Michone vibe with her zombie camouflage technique.

Tough decision, but both ladies are attractive and deadly.

Molly. Molly seemed to have more of a heart. Jane, not so much.

Jane ditched the group because she was afraid that it will fall. Molly left the group because she didn't want to take place on the boat and make the group throw out someone. Pretty different reasons, huh? Jane is not reliable. She is running like a rat from the sinking ship. Is there a chance that she won't leave your group when shit will hit the fan? Molly is more selfless. I believe that she'll always have your back. She even fought till the end to save her sister, while Jane abandoned Jamie.

Oh, and ice pick is more useful than a nail file.

Molly can swing around and uses the power of sound.

Jane can control the dead and become one of them.

  • Jane, but only because Molly got Chuck killed.

  • ooooo this just got more interesting.
Jane is kinda like Michone with her zombie camouflage technique.

I'd go with Molly. She's a more reliable person and that's what really matters.

Molly is the one that rang the bells, causing the group to be overrun by walkers.

    Sorry, didn't read your edit.

  • Jane didn't intentionally abandon Jaime, she couldn't do anything to try and save her, even if she forced her to, so Jane had to make the tough decision to leave her sister, her sister wanted to die by the sound of it, and I believe that it was both wrong and right, she just left her sister, who was her best friend but at the same time... let her sister choose her death, gave her sister something Jane has been keeping away from her for a long time. Jane was new to the group, she had every right to leave, she helped the group get through the herd, not to mention the fact that she helped the group get the radio in a way, Molly's reasons for leaving weren't completely clear, and she hid a secret from the group which only Lee found out. Jane isn't bad, Molly isn't bad and neither of them are good, they're just trying to survive their way.

  • I prefer Molly honestly. :P

  • Molly didn't do it intentionally. When she met Lee she didn't know what was going on.

I think Molly's the better friend, but I find Jane the better character.

  • so which one would you choose?

  • Molly didn't do it intentionally, and it's hard to say if the group could've saved Chuck or not, although they didn't really use melee weapons...

  • wow did anyone notice the title has boxing characters?

  • Yeah, I'd call it reckless endangerment.

I still love Molly though. But I also loved Chuck.

  • To be honest, I think I like Jane JUST a bit more than Molly, these characters only appeared for 1 or 2 episodes and they're already such great characters, I mainly pick Jane because of how she shows allot more emotion than others, and all her survival tricks are great for killing Walkers, Molly's survival tricks are more about getting around really...

Molly. I don't find her as interesting to watch(In fact, she's probably my least favorite character in the series), but actually being in that scenario, Molly has a better chance of helping.

    Definitely Molly and Hilda.

  • Hilda, because fuck yeah.

  • yeah both of their plots are unique.

  • Hilda's the sharpest tool in the shed, although Nail File is pretty useful too...

  • Considering she was until recently the only living person left on the surface of Savannah, it was reasonable for her to use more risky tactics.

  • Somehow I think she would have rang the bells regardless of wether or not she knew people were down there.

If not for Clem she'd have left Lee and Kenny to die at the docks.

  • Yeah, it took seeing a kid for her to realize she was acting like the crazy survivalist community she'd just escaped from.

As some other folks have pointed out, Jane seems like the type who'd do fine in Crawford (even if she distrusted large communities). Molly hated them.

  • Molly hated Crawford, she wasn't really acting like them, she was opposing them and she though that Lee and Kenny were from Crawford until she saw Clementine as children are not allowed to stay in Crawford.

Jane may do fine in Crawford, but she'd probably leave Crawford no matter how strong they were.

  • I was referring to Luke and Troy. Troy might have deserved it, but she also took advantage of Luke and then leaves to avoid getting emotionally attached. It's pathetic because she really does need human contact, yet denies other people when they need her help.

  • I don't know if Jane's that bad. It seemed to me she was trying to convince herself as much as she was trying to convince Clem when she was talking about leaving the group. Maybe even more so. Maybe she was hoping Clem could convince her otherwise.

And Molly was more then willing to deal with Crawford as long as they kept her sister safe.
