Ideas for new characters for season 3?

I think, we should have characters, who are older, 50 or 60+, be introduced.

We have Kenny, a man who's over 40 yrs old.
We have Mike, who's around 30-35.
We have Luke and Bonnie, somewhere in there mid 20's I'd say.
We have Clementine, who is now 11.
And we have a new born.

But what about introducing characters into the group who are over 50, or 60?
Ones who are seasoned veterans?
I think it would be a good thing.

Even though in TWD, people in that age group would be more rare, they would still be there.
And I think it would show respect to baby boomers in general.
Even though they are older, and no longer in their prime, doesn't mean they still don't matter, and that they still have something to contribute.
And that they are still capable of surviving, like anyone else.

I think, mainly as a gesture of respect to the older generation, that we should have older characters be introduced in season 3, as new members of the group.
Perhaps even having the new PC character be an older individual.

What are your ideas?

  • just not another Larry, please

I'd like to see another Walter or Carley.

  • A couple of kids, maybe one actually lives.

  • THE WHOLE CANCER GROUP

    DONE

Seriously though, I like the idea. I also want another male child, since there has been 3 girl children and only 1 male child. Poor Duck.

  • I would like to see a character with weight issues.

  • Someone who is quite religious. Not a zelot, but just a common Christian man. This man or woman could carry around a cross necklass to give him or her hope and to banish fear of death.

  • Yes please, they would be like Eugene in the show (I don't think he is chubby in the comics), smart and needed, but they slow you down.

  • I have an idea, but can I draw a human...? I only learn now. =(

  • A professional doctor, who feels guilty for escaping a hospital in Atlanta as the apocalypse ensued. He was one of the first to see walkers in action, and he was then with a group and used to patch up his group members. The group fell apart when bandits slaughtered them all, whilst some escaped they left him behind. He was captured by the bandits and forced to heal them after their bandit raids on other groups. Eventually the bandits got drunk, and arguments ensued which the turned out into gunshots. This brought walkers, and he fled the scene as the bandits tried to fight off the oncoming walkers yet failed.

He was shot during the arguments and walker fight however, and nearing death he was then found by a nurse and their sister and brought back to their group. The group consists of the nurse, the sister, and two men Tony and Mark who were both in the military. The group has been living well, and moves after a few months however last winter was especially harsh as the nurse lost her sister due to pneumonia and feels like she was to blame, for not having the ability to save her despite her position before the apocalypse.

The nurse then found comfort in the doctor who also tried to help, and the doctor explains how he felt like he was a failure for abandoning coworkers and friends in Atlanta. Currently the doctor and nurse are in a relationship whilst Tony and Mark protect the group and lead them to safety. They're now all currently heading to Wellington, however on the way they find a little girl in the snow...

  • A group of teenagers

  • My first reaction was to say somebody Jewish... But now that I think about it, you haven't really had much mention of religion in The Walking Dead, even Christianity. Seeing as the group is in the Bible Belt, and atheists only account for something like 8% of the American population (I think that number discludes people who are 'not religious but spiritual'), I find it difficult to believe that there are no religious characters, especially given the circumstances. (I think this is probably the only time I've asked for representation of religion, given I'm part of that 8%...)

    Good idea!
He would make a great pc character.
Is that what you were thinking, when designing his backstory?
    Great backstory, by the way!

I just hope, along with finding a little girl in the snow, they also find a one-eyed 40+year old man, who has a host of anger management issues.
A young man in his mid twenties, with an assault rifle in his hands.
    And a sweet-genuine redhead.

  • 8 black guys and 1 white girl

  • Both Kenny and Ben were confirmed to be religious

  • There should be an orphanage full of kids who made it. They are kind of hostile towards adults and capture the group at the end of the first episode. I think that could be interesting.

  • But they weren't really part of their character. Hell, Kenny gets drunk pretty often, votes to leave Ben behind, kills many for the good of survival, kills Carver who was crippled... Sorry it doesn't sound like someone with religious tendencies.

I'm actually hoping we get a really typical all-American militant man.

It would be interesting if the writers tried to write a character who had been dealing with PTSD prior to the outbreak and then had found where he belongs, as a leader or some sort of "chief of security" of a group, when it happens.

Sort of a type who "enjoys" the apocalypse because he can make use of the skills that society taught him but forbade him for using.

"A mild Carver" if you will, a sort of anti-hero

  • A Vet who comes back to find he is fighting that hidden war,

a war you can't win, no return

He got a guitar strapped to his back, and roams looking

for a new place to call home, and another bottle to quench his thirst.

    Ben was religious?
I don't remember him ever saying anything that could be construed as having religious beliefs.

  • He reads the Bible at the motel, he tells Lee.

  • Kinda like a cross between John Wayne, and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine.

  • Zombies can be defeated with the power of music.

  • Oh yeah I remember that.
I think that was a poorly contrived story, to hide the fact that he plays with himself.
    No offense intended.

If you doubt me, go back and look at that conversation, listen closely, and tell me what you think.

    Sounds like you're describing Chuck.
And that hidden war you're describing, is called post-traumatic-stress-disorder.

    Everyone has their demons.

  • Yeah I have to agree. I want to see more religion. Kenny said he was a christian man, but I don't think he did a good job of showing it.

"And He said unto me: 'Son of man, stand upon thy feet, and I will speak unto thee.' " -Ezekiel 2:1. ( King James Version).
Not sure why I added a scripture here, But when I saw the character say the name Ezekiel, it seemed appropriate.

Never seen anything John Wayne, so I have no idea :)

My thought was some Captain America Righteousness mixed with a hint of Rogue Robin Hood, played by Liam Neeson. :D

Though Hugh Jackman is not bad either, Wolverine is awesome.

Jkjk, but I don't remember that line and I didn't draw that connection. Maybe I just thought he was bored enough to read anything, even the Bible.

  • I would love for Clem to meet another survivor that is her age and somewhat alone like her. One that isn't Becca of course, haha.

  • Racoon.
After following Clem since she first had her treehouse before the zombies, He has witnessed things a racoon should never have to see. Now in the snow and ice he must find his son and find shelter. Play through the eyes of an animal for the first time in Telltale's a Walking Dead.

  • They need me inside of there. Wow I'd be about that life.

  • its not really common in apocalypse to have old guys they have bad chances of surviving i think

  • ahem LARRY
