I don't know, they are pretty trigger happy with bans lately. You should be able to view how long you ban is on your main account, as well as the reason for why you are banned.
I do agree that your ban is pretty harsh, and just as a tip: the mods here don't have the same sense of humor as the rest of us. But in all honesty, you should have said that it was a joke because people will (and did) take you seriously. And having alternate accounts is against the rules. I think they can check if you are using more then one account.

They should put the reason and length of the ban on your feed in a yellow box.
You're gonna get banned again and your ban on your other account will be longer because you made another account which is against the rules.
You must have done something wrong to get banned the fist time.
