How do you post a picture or gif on a discussion?

Can somebody please tell me how I could post a photo or gif on a discussion? thank you in advance.

    First, copy image url from an image or gif you like.

    Then post a comment or reply, then click on the "image" icon above.

    Then paste in the text box.

    Post.

    Basically, click the image button when replying or posting a comment, put the link, put an alt text & optional title or leave them
