Ideas for new characters for season 3?

  • I hope Clem survives and at the end you can leave with whoever you choose like Christa or Jane or even Molly and Lily if you actully see them again that is.

  • My guess is that he felt guilty for doing the supplies deal and searched the Bible to get some sort of relief or forgiveness.

Oh yeah I remember that. I think that was a poorly contrived story, to hide the fact that he plays with himself. No offense intended. If you doubt me, go back and look at that conversation, listen closely, and tell me what you think.

  • You've never seen a John Wayne movie?!
    You missed out.

Some great films I can recommend are....... True Grit (1969, for which he won an academy award for best actor), The Cowboys, The Alamo, ( In which Wayne plays Davy Crockett), Eldorado, The Sons of Katie Elder, The Shootist, ( Which was his last film).

    Check them out!

Never seen anything John Wayne, so I have no idea My thought was some Captain America Righteousness mixed with a hint of Rogue Robin Hood, played by Liam Neeson. Though Hugh Jackman is not bad either, Wolverine is awesome.

I wouldn't go that far, I have a really strong faith in God and I try to tell others about God, but I still fear dying. I don't want to die and sometime I can't help but to think how will it happen. I've actually come really close to death once and that really sobered me up and renewed my faith. But yes, I am afraid of dying. But I do like where your going with this.

Yeah. Any faithful person won't fear death when there is enough faith in God.

  • I wonder... what if there were characters in season 3 similar to characters from Season 2, and Clementine has flashbacks of deceased characters when talking to their season 3 counterparts?

  • Not saying we arent, but its an interesting character trait.

  • You know what we don't have enough off? like those characters who can survive on their own.... Female.... I mean it's not like there's one per season or anything so make a whole episode of depressed loners, c'mon Telltale!

I think the entire idea of a new character is kind of putting the cart in front of the horse. First of all, TTG needs to get their hands on a writer worthy of that title.

Then we can start talking about the next character.

(IMO, if anything, we should have played Kenny in season 2, if - and I'm being incredibly lenient here - he would have survived. Other than him, Omid or Christa, because Clem was a mistake to make playable.)

  • I'd like to see a character that was in the military when the outbreak started. It would be interesting to get a glimpse into his/her experience and how they dealt or failed to deal with everything that happened.

  • I didn't find full comics, only few colored pages like this one. I´m not sure if colored version exists :)

  • Would some kind of romance survive in the ZA? Carley/Lee seemed to be going that way, and her death was harder to bear after that notion. I think I would get pretty attached to a potential partner(whom, of course, TT would kill at some point).

  • I support this idea; and I would also like to play from day 1, without the 'waking up later' trope played straight just so people can tell me what has happened...

Another interesting part would be from a medical point of view. We can safely assume that most deaths occur in hospitals, and that a lot of walkers would come from them initially.

  • This isn't Bioware...

That said, I doubt any romance would have a chance unless people start to feel safe for real: Carly's flirt with Lee was kind of sweet but it had little chance of surviving since the people had little chance of surviving. But lock everyone up in a concrete bunker with food and water and everything else that's needed, and then sure.

It does happen in the comics, but I was just wondering if it could be possible in the game. It doesn't have to survive because it won't, but it can create the illusion for a while.

Also, Bioware has told some amazing stories that include romance. TT could do it too? Bashing zombies is fun and all, but after two seasons they can kick human relationships up a notch. I'm not saying it's necessary, it's just a thought. :) (And all that considering Clem will not be our S3 protagonist)

Sam, a teenager who was struggling with depression and anxiety after losing his father, before the apocalypse has to cling on to his only best friend of a similar age. This best friend was a girl called Anna. A smart girl who commonly spent her times reading books, and dreamt of becoming a writer. She found herself in the similar position of being bullied, and thus she met Sam this way. As the apocalypse ensues, Anna has to defend him as best she can. Sam tends to weigh her down, and when they joined a group this tended to be a big issue for them. Anna would regularly defend Sam but in the end it wasn't worth it. Sam was kicked out of the group, and Anna felt the need to go with him. After a few days they ended up in a mess. With barely any food, water, medical supplies or ammo left they were close to death.

The winter then came, and Anna was bitten, too weak to fight off the incoming walkers that surrounded them in the snow as they tried to get to Wellington. Anna used her time to try and teach Sam as must as she could, such as how to use a gun, survival tips, etc. In the end she felt she couldn't teach him enough, and there was only one thing left to do. Sam had to shoot Anna. Leaving her corpse to decay as he moved on. He now has to become a tough survivor in a perilous world by himself. With no shepherd to guide him...

  • We weren't ever "promised" a cameo. His face just appeared hidden in the Episode Four slide, that's it. It was implied he would appear, but he didn't so Telltale probably took him out.

  • Bioware and great romances... I think we have different opinions about that (regarding romances in games, the way they were handled in Baldurs Gate II were pretty damn amazing - you actually had to work for them and think about who said what and why. When you finally made it over the goal line so to speak, it was well worth a fist pump. Not like some of the Bioware "romances" that were written so porrly I'd rather seen a virgin 14 year old write them).

I do think that in TWD romances should be kept to a minimum, especially since TTG also is saddled with this "only five episodes" nonsense, and I don't think that's enough time to get to learn people and get in deeper with them. Better leave this to games where you choose the protagonist, not where the protagonist is choosen too - I don't know if I as a straight guy would be comfortable playing a woman (no problem with that) trying to woo some guy...

As far as romance goes, I guess it could work, but there would have to be more episodes per season.
And if they were to have a romance in the 3rd season, I'd like it to be between the protagonist and Bonnie.
But as far as having an actual romance in season 3, I can take it or leave it.

And as far as the series next protagonist, I want it to be a guy, and preferably who's straight.
( No offense to anyone who is gay or bisexual, but that just isn't me).
    Maybe in his early 40's.
A guy who was a doctor before the apocalypse, and who has become an expert survivalist.
( Expert hunter, marksman, fisherman, and fighter).

Who runs into Clementine, Kenny, Luke, and Bonnie in the 5th episode, and who doctors any wounds they may have suffered in that firefight with the Russians.

Oh and one thing I would prefer in episode 5, is the option of either plugging Arvo, or leaving him to die.
    Provided he survives the shootout.

  • I'd love to see Leland make a comeback. We still don't know what happened to him after he parted ways with Bonnie, after all.

    I agree.
Making Clementine the playable character was a HUGE mistake.
What's the point of, as Lee, training her how to survive and trying to give her good moral training, if then as Clementine you have to decide whether or not to follow your own counsel or not?
    Doesn't make any sense!

And I to would've preferred to have played as Kenny.
Hopefully he'll be the next PC character in season 3.

  • They need to throw in a reckless, bad ass teenage male who is a loose cannon but essential to the groups survival.

  • Someone like Pete who actually lives.

  • Leland's determinant.

A Vincent Price lookalike would be cool IMO, but that's only because I'm a Price fan (as if my avatar and username didn't make that obvious enough).

  • It's fine. I forgot Chet was determinant. :'(

    Oh, right. Oops.
