The bite was the OMG moment, by the end of ep 4 in had also semi accepted lee's fate also, it was hard but was'nt that bad tbh..... ep 3 was the hardest ep for me..... incredible episode.
Sorry i know this will be unpopular but I never understood how ep 5 broke people down. yes Lee died but surely people knew he would he'd bee… moren bit. I was really sad at the end of ep 4 but in ep 5 I was actually okay. I mean Lee saved clem there couldnt have been a happier ending from the moment Lee was bit and didnt immediatley amputate
So anyone care to say why it shocked them and made them sad? For me Lee surviving to save clem was bittersweet, for me I'd accepted it by the time came to play episode 5 as long as I saved Clementine
Same for me. Episode 4 was when I made peace with Lee dying. Episode 5 was when I was racing the clock to save Clem. When Lee died, I was satisfied that he did the best he could for Clem. Nice work, Lee. The episode was sad but not devastating because there was a lot of time to accept his death before it happened.
Also, when Clem shot Lee, Lee taught her one final lesson about survival, about how to care for people in the zombie apocalypse. It was hard for her but she learned to do the right thing. Clem had to see her parents as walkers, but she didn't have to see Lee as a walker, because he taught her. The sadness in episode 5 was offset by Clem's growth and the hope that she would be ok without Lee.

My experience was this, I got REALLY immersed into the game. I didn't make decisions on "Good" or "Bad." I tried to make the decisions as something I'd have actually done in the situation (example: smashing Larry's head...) I've been doing this in Season 2 as well. During Episode 5, I convinced myself Lee was going to make IT. I went into denial about that whole thing, and since I immersed myself into it so much, I cared about the character...a lot.
When he was barely walking in that garage place, my denial went hardcore, man. I was actually saying "No," to myself as that happened. Then, I started crying like a little bitch.
I've never once cried about a video game, but The Walking Dead had me crying three fucking times. THREE! THREEEEEEEE!

I said the press copy was released. I didn't say she played it. If the press copy was released, she probably watched a friend play it.
