What if Carver had been spared and...

What do you think of this theory? There was a choice between killing him or spare him. If you'd spared, Carver would join the group, among the many disputes from Rebecca, Luke and Kenny...
Carver in the group proves to be anything but bad, although Kenny tries to kill him for what he had done to the eye. Carver teaches Clem many tricks to survive, but in reality Carver sees Clem as his daughter, killed by ZA.
However, at the end of the Ep. 5 Carver die sacrificing himself to give time to Clem to escape from the zombies, redeeming Himself From its past evil deeds.

That would be total bullshit. He's probably the most unambiguously evil person in the series. What he did to Kenny's eye is peanuts compared to, say, murdering Walter/torturing Carlos/abusing Sarah/raping Rebecca.

He will not relate well with any of the group except Clem. He would just basically taunt everyone just to get on their nerves, he'd be like the annoying fairy from the Legend of Zelda. I bet they wouldn't have made it out of the horde if they brought Carver with them. Bullshit.

It sounds hilarious - the conversations that would happen would ensue lols, but would never happen. Not to mention how awkward it would be for everyone. For Luke & Bonnie considering they previously worked for him, for Kenny considering the eye, for Rebecca who would no doubt kill him at the first opportunity anyway, and for Clementine as well. The only people who could be alright with it would be Jane & Mike, and even that seems a stretch since we don't know their relations that well. He'd be treat like a prisoner. Although it'd be interesting seeing how he would react to the Russians and his(?) new-born child.
Plus he'd probably demand to lead the group or take off at the first chance.

No, people just use it too lightly. There is nothing wrong with ideas, but theories needs arguments behind them.
"What if's" are not theories.
No matter what wrong definitions you pull from wikipedia. Get the the definition from a university paper and we might start taking the word seriously

The way Carver thinks, the way he acts, it doesn't fit into further storywriting /telling for him. In Episode 3 the beginning he smacked Clementine in my playthrough and stuff. He doesn't fit into the category of immolating himself for others.
Carver has done too much shit to ever be allowed anywhere near their group.
And since it's been highly implied that he raped Rebecca, I wouldn't have wanted him to. (Then there's the murders of Reggie, Walter, Alvin, and Kenny's eye infection might get him. All that is on Carver.)
The guy is a fucking lunatic and it wouldn't be realistic at all to have him with the group.
Also he got his kneecaps shot off. He can't even walk.
This got me thinking, you know what would have been a better revenge for Kenny to dish out on Carver instead of just killing him?
After he shot him on both kneecaps, to just leave him there alive. If he lived through it, he would become one of the "weak" people that he seems to loathe so much, who need help from others to survive. He'd need help walking and all that stuff. He'd have to rely on his own community's kindness, and he wouldn't really be fit to scare them into submission anymore. Maybe that would have given him a different perspective.
