Season 2 episode rankings?
So now all five episodes have came out and im curious, what would you rank the episodes tell me in the comments... and i will say my rankings
5th - All That Remains 8/10 - All That Remains was a good episode but was a bumpy start, first off the characters were very unlikeable and most scenes felt extremely rushed and it didn't amount to a lot. When saying that Clementine is a strong protagonist and theres is a ton of character development with her this episode.
Pros
Strong Protagonist
Difficult Choices
Sam
Good writing
Cons
Unlikeable Characters
Choices don't amount too much
Rushed scenes
4th - In Harms Way 8.3/10 - In Harms Way is a tense and well put together episode yet at the same time it had an overhyped trailer and strange writing, the characters seemed to completely change for the sake of the plot, this episode also should have been longer than it actually was because everything felt crammed in. The pros were amazing though, amazing death scenes and scary villains plus very difficult tense situations.
Pros
Good "social" choices
Tense situations
Strong Villains
Awesome new characters
Action packed deaths
Cons
Whole episode felt a little 'crammed'
Confusing writing
Overhyped
3rd - Amid The Ruins 9/10 - I loved Amid The Ruins, yet the choices amounted to anything and the climax of the episode was almost anti climatic which is disappointing, when saying that this episode was still great characters like Mike are now interesting and cool. Even though the choices don't amount to much they were very moral and difficult, i also must say this episode was 15 min longer for me.
Pros
Moral Choices
Character Equalization
Great Length
Luke is no longer "perfect"
Lots of character development with Jane, Clem and Rebecca.
Uncertain future
Cons
Anti Climatic
Choices don't amount to a lot.
2nd - A House Divided 9.5/10 - This episodes only con for me was Clem did things she didn't need to do like fixing the wind turbine, other than that i think this episode was perfect. New interesting characters and a extremely tense, climatic ending that had you on the edge of your seat. Not only is there a good amount of character development but there is lots of it with new characters like Walter. The action scenes were very "button mashing" overall this episode was great.
Pros
Lots of character development
Luke and Kenny choices
Interesting new characters
Interesting new villians
Very climatic and tense
Sad, good deaths
Cons
- Too much pressure on Clem
1st - No Going Back 9.8/10 The only con for me was i had weird glitches when i played, when Clem rolls over on the car it would repeat the same zombie noise over and over. This episode did not only represent all that Clementine has become but it manages to make Clementine grow more, this episode makes us feel like our choices matter. This episode had lots of character development with Luke, Jane, Kenny, Arvo and Clementine it had really strong writing. The choices were beyond difficult and the fact there were multiple endings was the cherry on top.
Pros
Feels with Lee
Makes you think about what YOUR Clem as become
Plot Twists
Strong writing
Great character development with most of the cast
Very sad, deaths
Multiple endings
Choices "pay off"
Cons
- Glitches
Those are my rankings, what are yours?
Comments
10/10 Each
Just gotta say awesome rankings. I love the way you broke it down.
Thanks
bump
For me
1st. No Going Back
2nd. In Harms Way
3rd. Amid The Ruins
4th. A House Divded
5th. All That Remains
For me it's
No Going Back 10/10
Amid The Ruins 9/10
In Harm's Way 8/10
All That Remains 7.5/10
A House Divided 7/10
But your points are really good, nice reviews.
In my opinion....
5) Amid the Ruins - Not a bad episode by any means, in fact it had many great moments. Nick and Sarah's wasted potential sucked, though. 8/10
4) All that Remains - Good start to the season. Had many great moments. Left me at the edge of my seat more than once. Only downside was that it seemed to have an abrupt ending. 8.5/10
3) In Harm's Way - Intense episode. Great character moments. Surprising turn for the season when there were still 2 episodes left. 9/10
2) A House Divided - Build up of excitement. Kenny's return was awesome, made me really excited. The finale was breath taking and gave me the feeling that my choices would matter more in this season. (Too bad that wasn't really true) The episode itself though was amazing. 9.5/10
1) No Going Back - Fucking awesome. Pizza/ice cream fight was amazing. The branching story paths. The twists. The endings. My ending with Kenny made me cry. Kenny and Clem - presumedly the only 2 characters left from the beginning of the series are now together at the end of Season 2. At least in my playthrough, that was perfect. For others, the choices actually mattered and left Clem in even more spots.
Here's to hoping Telltale actually makes our endings matter in Season 3.
It's too early for me to judge No Going Back. I need to give it a few days to let it sink in before properly placing it and giving it a rating.
Yeah i usually like to do that too.
I like this one a lot.
