Luke and Bonnie *spoilers*

So if you choose to cover Luke, Bonnie is an idiot and tries to go after him anyway. They both fall in. Clementine then breaks the ice but Luke drowns really quickly. So okay, I can accept this. So they manage to pull Clementine out, they don't even bother trying with Luke, but again, I get this. Clem is lightweight and much easier to save.

But then, as Clem is outside, all of the sudden, Bonnie pops out of the hole you created. I'm sorry, what? How? They both fell in at the same time. So she was apparently down there, swimming around, after Luke fell in, drowned, then Clem fell in, then Clem got pulled out, and then Bonnie she gets out with zero help. So how the heck did Luke drown that fast and Bonnie survive that long?

Can anyone come up with a reasonable explanation for this? Besides bad writing and TellTale wanted to kill Luke cause screw you.

It's the thing that pisses me off. Why this stupid junkie didn't pulled him out of the water? She was right near him!

I think it's some sort of plot hole, after TT forced Luke's death (he was meant to live)

  • This was the other thing that bothered me. He can look dead, but that doesn't mean he is. Um, CPR anyone?

  • I'm pretty sure Luke having a bad leg from the gun shot, as well as in pain at his rib cage from being beaten by Carver...well, yeah. I think that's pretty reasonable as to why. Remember to think to the past episodes too, and not just the current situation.

  • As far as I know, I don't think weighing more makes you drown any faster. And not sure why Luke would've been more tired. He was actually doing pretty well with that leg injury, to the point that he was only limping (which again, makes this whole walking over ice thing a really stupid idea) and the guy is in good shape. Bonnie would probably be more prone to hypothermia considering her physique.

  • Maybe Bonnie got out at the very last second before she couldn't hold her breath anymore.

  • Again, none of that causes you to drown any faster. It's about your ability to hold your breath and not intake water. And it's hard to consider the Carver injury since it was a few chapters ago and he hadn't shown any signs of it bothering him.

  • What? There were signs. Not directly in this episode, but when he tried lifting everyone out of the trailer in Episode 4, it was noticeable. And that was only a day prior. He could have definitely been in pain after putting pressure on the Walker too, that he choked and then got pulled down with.

  • My Bonnie died. I kept trying to break the ice and then just stopped as it seemed pointless at he was going to drown.

  • Luke was carrying an AK which i think is quite heavy

I was only talking about what happens if you cover Luke. I agree that the help Luke option, it makes sense with him getting pulled down by a walker.

  • Lukes leg is also fucked up, I felt that was the main reason

  • It's just conflicting cause Luke drowns really fast but Bonnie comes out a full 20 seconds later without any issue and no help needed. If they both would've died after falling in, I think it makes sense but why does Bonnie have so much more time before she drowns? Is she a champion at swimming?

  • I think that it was because Luke was underneath the ice, away from the already broken hole in the ice which they fell into. Bonnie got out of the hole and Luke couldn't get there or just didn't see it in time so he started to bang on the ice for help.

    basically.

  • But Bonnie got out of the hole you created from Luke banging on the glass and after Luke drowned. Not before.
