Should There Be 5 Alternate Beginnings for S3?

Based on your ending, should their be 5 different beginnings for S3, or everyone have the same beginning?

For me I left with Kenny and AJ, (it was a rewind), but my original ending was me leaving Kenny and staying at Wellington with AJ. I hope that they returned in a few months and they stay at Wellington.

But as we all know TT will throw us a crazy curveball. #Season3HYPE

  • Yes but Telltale is probably too lazy to do that..

  • Whoever you end up with will probably die at the start of season 3 and then the story would fall back into place with Clem heading in one direction.

  • Or maybe a new start because I'm not sure if Season 3 will be release on PS3 or X360.

  • This. To make all the endings work, it has to be Clem and AJ alone. So Jane/Kenny have to die (due to Kenny being dead in some people's play through, Jane in others, and Kenny & Jane in others). And I am so very pissed about that.

  • Telltale, drop tales of the borderfail and start working on season 3 asap.

  • It would be easy to transfer the data from PS3 to PS4, and 360 to One. Plus Season 1 and Season 2 of TWD is being re-release this fall for PS4/XBO.

  • If telltale can pull it off sure, as long as they just don't kill off your choice to suit the plot again, that would suck.

  • Yeah. I mean both Jane and Kenny will die eventually. So this means farewell to Kenny within a year :(

  • They don't have to die. Clementine can just leave them, or they can leave Clementine. Look at the wellington ending, it's the perfect way of separating clementine from people without killing her.

  • That's why I already pre-ordered the next-gen ports of those games. Yummy.

  • I think they might go with a new character, you might see Clem and AJ again, maybe Russel or Vince from 400 Days? Or Episode 1 may be different depending on who you leave with, and then Episode 2 on wards are the same, just with different secondary characters, depending on who you left with.

I hope so. Just like how the TV show is basically Rick's story, the game is basically Clementine's story. I'm worried the five endings will remove Clem as the protagonist.

  • There could be a 400 days type DLC again, playing as different people who happen to come accross a deserted Wellington and a deserted warehouse.

That would make it easier for Telltale to start season 3 at a different location.

  • If Clem is the protagonist for season 3 I hope just because both Kenny and Jane lives are determinate their roles won't become reduce. It always happens and I have a feeling it will happen with Jane and Kenny because it will make telling the story easier. So if there is a season 3 with Clem I want TT to really commit to these choices.

  • I wish Telltale could do that but I feel like it would be impossible. And what made the endings of that season so powerful was the fact that no matter what you chose for your Clementine, you will always be left to wonder if it was the best for her, how long she's going to make it in that world. If they told us in season 3 what happens I feel that theses endings would lose their meaning in a way. But I still really hope to see Clem again!

  • I agree and am worried too!

  • Good idea!

Let me phrase it a different way.

    • In some people's playthroughs, Jane is dead.
    • In some people's playthroughs, Kenny is dead.
    • In some people's playthroughs, Jane and Kenny are dead.

    • Every ending has Clem and AJ. There are two endings where it is just Clem and AJ.

    • To clean up the inconsistencies from everyone's playthroughs to go forward, they need to be made the same.
    • The inconsistencies are Kenny and Jane. And yes, I do believe the "canon" is Clem and AJ only surviving and Kenny/Jane will need to die either in a DLC or early in Season 3 like Omid did.

  • This - that all ends up im nothing and your choice becomes void SHOULD happen in S3E2 ----until then YES --- 5 (I counted4) different S3E1!!!

  • Clementine will obviously be the main character in S3. They would alienate a huge part go the fan base if she wasn't.
