I'm legitimately surprised at this... [SPOILERS]
Before episode 5 came out, someone said that this episode would have no real choices and that the end would be the same no matter what, because Telltale wouldn't want to pay more voice actors and put in more development time. I expected that as well. But... wow. Holy shit. Look at all these endings and determinant characters! Let's look at this:
-You COULD go with Jane, which means they'll have to keep paying Jane's VA.
-You can even accept or deny the family's request, meaning they have to pay another three VA's for a double determinant situation
-You can go with Kenny, meaning Gavin Hammon would have to be payed as well
-You can even go into Wellington without Kenny, meaning Gavin Hammon is another double determinant VA to be payed.
Not to mention, you can even walk away with the baby, making this a total of FIVE different endings to be had. With all the determinant VA's and the development time/money for five different endings, let's just say that Telltale has a lot on their plate, and quite a bit out of their pockets. I'm surprised, but also proud of you, Telltale. You done good.
Comments
If they plan on continuing on from these endings, then we will wither see a game with superb story branching, a streamlined version of all the choices, or a total trainwreck.
It'll be fun to see if they can pull it off.
This might mean that Jane/Kenny might be offed immediately in the first ep of Season 3 like Omid was. Determinant characters don't last more than 2 episodes after their "death." Carley/Doug and Nick are good examples of this. Hoping for some DLC's though to tie in Clem's story arc with Jane/Kenny!
I really like the multiple endings, but let's be honest. I don't believe there's gonna be 5 different starts for season 3. Same start with probably a big timeskip & different memories. I don't want to be a downer
I would be the happiest to have that option to see Kenny again. Please Telltale don't make us wait for years to find out ![:D :D](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/lol.png)
Jane or Kenny will return even if one of them is determinant. They probably won't get rid of Gavin Hammon because hes kind of a regular, and if he lives then it won't be fair to Christine Lakin. The family is also returning either way, as Jane said "They might come back." possibly meaning that the kid will be Clementines friend if you brought them in or enemy if you turned them away. Those are my thoughts though. GREAT finale though really amazing.
I was one of those s reawho created such a topic. But I think that these determinant endings really mean that they are done with Clementine as a playable character.
Ah shit, I didn't think about that
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
I feel ya. #clem4life
They can't switch! Can they? NO , THEY BETTER NOT OR ELSE.
I'm proud of you, Nick Breckon. You done good.
This pretty clearly means that Clementine's future faith will be left ambiguous and that her story has come to an end. There's no way Telltale will be able to branch out 5 different scenarios properly whilst maintaining a good story.
We will be getting a new protagonist and I hope it's Eddie.
I have to admit I was wrong. I was expecting a set ending like season 1. GJ this finale, Telltale.
Well , the different endings probably mean that there's not going to be anymore Clementine. Either that , or maybe in a distant future all outcomes find a similar path (i.e. both Jane and Kenny end up being dead anyway , and you decide to go to Wellington)
