Kenny and Luke, a reflection on the final episode
When you think about it, yeah you've got the possibility to either
kill Kenny or not. Kenny fans are of course happy to let him live
and leave Wellington with him, but then comes the sad truth :
Kenny as become determinant.
Determinant characters will eventually die or leave, no avoiding
that. It sucks for all of his most loyal fans, but here it is.
Being a Kenny fan myself, I find it quite sad, but at the same
time, I think the guy deserves to rest in peace for everything
he went through. I just hope and implore Telltale not to pull
a Omid with his character...
Now Luke... (Sighs....sobs...) I honestly happened to love that
guy, he was amazing and knowing he was initially supposed
to live makes it even harder to me and probably all of the Luke
fanbase.
It kinda made me realise how much the illusion of choice
seems extremely weak compared to season 1. No matter
what you do, he dies. Worse, now he's an undead guy
at the bottom of a frozen lake (I would've said "now he's a
walker"... But he doesn't really walk. A "swimmer" then?
Agh I don't know!).
So, what do YOU think of :
- Kenny's determinant status = Guaranteed death in s3
and
- Luke's initial survival, but ultimately dead status
???

I had always know the whole Pizza V. Ice Cream choice was going to make the two character determinant. So I was bracing for this and have come to accept it will just be so.![:( :(](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
But, we can enjoy the time with whoever we choose, and just be happy we got to spend as much time with them as we have.
I was with Kenny in the end, and the way I see it, anytime we get to spend with him is worth it. He will die soon no doubt, but I think that it'll be for the best. I want him to be with his loved ones again, so if he dies, I'll find comfort in the fact he will be with his family.
And Luke. GAWD. I fucking love Luke! I was 100% Luke fan. So, yeah, I would've gone with Luke.![:( :(](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/frowning.png)
Good way of seeing things. Let's enjoy what we have now![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Exactly.
I just want Clem to find a happy ending, and I feel we were given this in that we could choose from so many different ones. I can't bear seeing Clem go through another Season of losing EVERYONE. >:
I hope Telltale gives Clem more time with Kenny if the player chose the "leave Wellington" ending. I know time-skips aren't exactly popular around here, but a five-year passage between seasons 1 and 2 could be a good idea.
In the scenario where Clem and AJ leave Wellington with Kenny, we'd be treated to a death-bed scene, where Kenny has become a tired old man, worn out from years of hard living. Kenny tells Clem "you know what you gotta do". Clem points a gun at Kenny's head, pulls the trigger, and...BLAM. Title screen.
I don't know, Kenny doesn't strike me as an old man (well, not that
old). If they would do a scene like this, they would have to timeskip
far in the timeline, but I think they can't because it would exceed the
comic's.
However, Kenny might have an accident that causes him to be completely
blind or something like that, making Clementine mercy kill him. This
situation wouldn't need such a big timeskip.
Leaving Wellington alongside Kenny really feel like a beautiful
.
happy ending Clem deserved
I was speaking metaphorically. In reality, Kenny wouldn't be any older than 48 or 49, but his tragic life has aged him beyond his years to the point where he looks almost eighty.
I agree.![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
