Something I am pissed off about.. (Ending rant)

edited August 2014 in The Walking Dead

before we get into this, I am not saying a specific ending is better than another, I am just pissed at how it was executed

I hate how I was tricked into making the choice between Kenny and Jane.. Telltale knew the fan base of Kenny was strong.. So instead of building up a character to match him (Luke had a chance.. but he did the ice challenge RIP :( ) they made this whole scenario where most people were tricked into shooting Kenny.... For basically nothing... The baby ends up being alive..

When in reality we missed this emotional ending that had Closure with Kenny.. The first time I got what I thought was the rather dull ending with Jane....

But when i chose to keep Kenny alive it just didn't have the same emotional effect on me that it would of had If I chose to keep Kenny alive the first time..

So basically the ending felt rather dull with Jane to me.. and then I see Kenny's and I just think I missed an opportunity to have a better ending in my first play through..

This is how I wanted it to feel..

Here are two people.. Here is the reason they are fighting...No tricks... no games.. now choose between them..

I just feel like I wanted to feel the emotions of that ending the first time and I was robbed of that right because I was tricked... :(

My Kenny ending:

They are both crying as they realise they have each other as they leave wellington together..

My original Jane ending:

(Some Random Kid) "Nice hat"

(Clem) "Yea thanks

I mean fucking COME ON!! Really??? Obviously I am going to like Kenny's ending more... I am more of a Humanity type of person..

  • Yeah ikr?

  • I'm sort of glad it wasn't luke and kenny. I wouldn't have been able to chose.

  • The fact that we've being tricked it's awesome if you ask me, more compelx than "Two of you're favorite characters are fighting, who do you like most?" it's just boring.

  • Am I'm the only one whos okay with the jane ending?

  • I just feel robbed of an emotional ending that I could of experienced the first time I played :(

No,ending with her is the best one since you can settle in a better place, also you'll get the certainty of baby formula supply for AJ.

  • This again? No ending is the best one. Everyone has another opinion.

well,I actually don't mind if some people think other ending is the best, but I do heavily mind when that certain people feel superior about it and trying to guilt trip or even insult others that choose different than them.

  • The baby being dead or alive doesn't matter. You shot Kenny because he was out of control and was about to kill someone because he thought she killed a baby. That's what was happening. You knew his beliefs. you knew his intentions.

  • That's good. That's how it's supposed to be. :)

The next scene would be Kenny throwing tantrum and beating up Clem, while the Family will help Clem & Jane in reestablishing the place.

  • Jane ending is a great Survival ending.. Kenny's ending is more for emotions.. I just didn't get the one I wanted the first time.

  • The supplies from Carver are gone. Jane says it herself, there is not much left, meaning it was looted already. You dont have a certainty of formula or food, nor can you gather any since Carver already gathered everything.

  • No offense but its your own fault for that ending. You chose a person you know for a few days, over a person you know for years.
    How emotional can that be?

  • it's not gone, there's still some supplies left, the greenhouse still intact meaning they can have a constant food supply, and what I mean is the certain amount of limited formula is better than just wandering further without any chance of getting one.

Because plants just continously supply food, rather than giving it all at once and then not giving any for 3 months?
F from Agriculture. And need I remind you that you just picked the food from Greenhouse with Regie?

Supplies that are left, are all on that one single piece of wood. 4 cardboard boyes and 3 cans. Thats your food until mid-spring when greenhouse will give food again.

    Bonus points is:
-Carver already stripped everything usefull from surounding, as said by Luke
-Those who raided Carvers camp and took supplies will be back

Can Clem and Jane defend against them?
Will family be willing to die to defend strangers?
Can 4 cardboard boxes last until mid-spring?
How will they defend against walkers such a large building?

I am quite pissed about this - and I'm sure that 99% of people who shot Kenny are going to rewind and let Kenny kill Jane. Because Telltale had to sprinkle some sugar in Kenny's ending. I would've liked it more if they at least kept the endings equal in terms of happiness and emotion, but nope. So #TeamJane has nothing to compete with! They also killed Luke; one of our best weapons to combat Kenny, but nope again - he dead.

So everyone and their mother is going to let Kenny become a murderer. Thanks TellTale!

They made Kenny's ending's great. Jane's ending were pretty shit. I mean she could of said something like, I'm sorry Clem I didn't want Kenny to die, But I will anything to protect you and AJ. He was crazy, I just wanted to keep you safe.

  • You dont stop knowing people just because you dont see them..

  • I like Jane better as a person, but I enjoy Kenny being in the game more. I killed him though, My Clementine tried to break up the fight by removing whoever was on top, and when Kenny was killing Jane, she was the victim, and was calling for my help. My Clementine couldn't see that happening, nor look away. After finding out Jane hid the baby, My Clementine got mad that she made her kill Kenny, and left her.

Heh,I did the same mistake the first time I played, but in the end I left her.Second time,I chose Kenny and it did have an emotional impact on me.

I think getting tricked into making a choice you find out later you didn't want to make wasn't stupid,it was just a situation where you really had to ask yourself if what you're choosing is good or not(from your point of view)

  • Amen.

  • This ending wasnt robbed from you . As always , you had to make a choice : do you watch kenny kill jane or do you stop him . Easy . You , me and everyone in this forums did stuff they regret , but thats how the game works . I bet you shot because you knew what he was doing there is wrong . I dont wanna start the kenny vs. jane shit again . just sayin

Btw : I shot kenny , i loved him and most of the time backed him up , but i couldnt watch him becoming a murder .
