I'm guessing Telltale scrapped the idea of Luke survival only for a cheap terjerking,just like what they did to Sarah
Maybe Sarah could've even survived until Episode 5 and been the one to fall through the ice, or for a nicer tone, have left with Bonnie, Mike and Arvo instead.

It's another case where I feel Telltale controls the story a bit too much.
Just like in Season 1 with Carley and Sarah in S2.
I just, don't understand it, if they value the idea of saved choices being brought into future seasons, then why not allow more content branching instead of setting most things in stone?
I think everyone would prefer Bonnie to die over Luke.

they killed luke for a reason ... if he got out of the water... he would've probably gone with mike and bonnie so TTG wanted him to die as a good person
I read the other day on steam that apparently TT had always planned to kill Luke, and the audio isn't him being saved but audio that all actors had to do in case they felt they needed audio of them shivering.
