She could have stopped the fucking fight by saying "Kenny, Kenny, the baby's alright", Kenny would have put his Floridian O-O face and went "Wha--?" and then she explains what the fuck was the trying to prove. She didn't, she wanted to kill him.
Why the fuck did she start bashing Kenny while driving?!
NOT EVEN in a non-apocalypse you can you around joking with a baby's death, what the fuck! She was looking for a fight to the death. She got it (in my game).
I easily knew what Jane was playing at, I could see it in her expression and I could hear it in her words, I guess it's not that easy for ev… moreeryone.
Except Jane didn't kill the baby, she only hid it, why would I get mad at Jane for hiding Clementine from someone who could be a danger to her?
Jane was repeatedly encouraging Clem to let people die. She did it with Sarah, she did it with Luke, and had she been around for more deaths she would've probably kept saying "It's too late, give up." Oh yeah I want my Clem to be with her.
Yeah, Clem telling her to run away and she pushed her away instead. No, she didn't want a fight.
/sarcasm
I didn't hate Jane either until this episode...
Just to redeem herself, he didn't want Clementine, he wanted His Sister 2.0, a more obedient version that even kills the people she pisses off for the sake of it.
Nope. She wanted Clem to see how dangerous Kenny had become. If you saved Jane she even says she was really sorry and she didn't think he wo… moreuld go that far. But, that's a mute point in my opinion. As it's the beauty of hindsight.
For what it's worth, if I could choose anyone still living for Clem to be with, it would probably be Molly.
Jane's followers( more mature than calling them Kenny's haters) will try to find ANY little thing to go against Kenny so it's no surprise th… moreat they are easily manipulated into condoning Jane's actions. They're sheeple and "weak of will" as put in Carver's words.
There was no TEAMJANE in episode 4 so that tells a lot on how desperate they are to jump into the hate bandwagon.
Jane revealed Kenny's true nature, that he would kill any of them for disagreeing with him or making a mistake. To be honest I didn't need convincing, he was a mad dog out of control and needed to be put down.
That's your interpretation of her character, not mine. I agree that she has been manipulative but all those other traits, no. She is extremely cool headed even to the point of coldness, as Clementine pointed out.
No, he lets you have your opinion. He may express anger or disappointment that you dont agree with him. But he doesnt try to influence your decisions, or maniupulate you like Jane.
And to everything else I said? I know that you only get that if you say that maybe Lee shouldn't have gone to get you, but the thing is usua… morelly there's only three responses and then the option for silence, and if you don't pick the one option in which you agree with him, you either get an argumentative response or a threat.
That wasnt murder. Clem did it to stop him from committing a murder in my playthrough. Clem only kills when she absolutely has to. She's not a murderer.
I really don't get how someone can murder Kenny after the 2 seasons that they have been with him. Kenny is like a father to Clementine how c… moreould you kill someone like that, who loves you and would do anything to protect you. Not to mention he was Lees best friend and devoted to raising AJ right!
Right, I'll tell everyone where I am with it, if you could just hear me out. Its weird, I completed the episode hours ago now and the ending has still stuck with me and has left me with a very uncomfortable feeling. (Videogames eh)
Jane really caught me off guard in episode 4. In ep 3, I thought she would be the silent type of character who dies in a badass way. Then episode 4 comes along and I think to myself "This woman would be really good for Clem." I said after finishing episode 4 that I was gutted that she left and that I think the perfect group for Clem would be her and Luke (R.I.P).
To say the choice was easy to shoot Kenny and save Jane would be a MASSIVE lie though. I finished the game about 3 hours ago now and I still feel quite empty and man, the tears when Kenny told me I did the right thing. I asked him myself for Clem and felt it was so right to what I was thinking, "Why did you make me do this?!". Not in a selfish way but because I did everything to stay loyal to him and keep him alive. But I just couldn't see him and let him murder someone who my Clem made such a quick bond and connection with. After shooting him, I tussled with Jane about her manipulation (which I expected anyway) but felt it was right to stay with her and she is an asset to Clem and Clem is a moral asset to her. I then chose to let the people into the base as I really have been fighting with keeping Clem as Lee's Clem, a girl who shows bravery and is loyal to others while also seeing the humanity in people. That is why killing the character who I had kept loyal to not only as Lee but as Clementine, for two seasons, was so heartwrenching.
I watched the other Kenny ending with his redemption and while it is an emotional scene, I don't think my Clem would forget Kenny murdering someone like that in anger any time soon. BUT I don't know, I do have regret and yet I think I made the right decision.
Arghhhh I don't know what to think. Am I making any sense?
I've said it before and I'll say it again...Do you really think that if she said that the baby was fine Kenny would have believed her?
… more
At that point Jane leads him to the car and says "Here's the baby." He'd still have been pissed that she even TRIED to do what she did. What she did was f*cking ridiculous by all standards. Anyone who sided with Jane in my opinion only did so cuz they were tired of listening to Kenny bitch.
What are other some other examples in which Jane tries to manipulate us? Because from my perspective it only happened once, and every other time she was just saying that Kenny was losing it and was behaving irrationally, which isn't false. If that counts as manipulation, then Kenny said just as much and as bad about her, like "We may have another Lily situation on our hands" and, "She's a bad influence" and, "She doesn't know how to respect people" and unrelated to Jane but again referencing Lily, he says "Remember the last time we had a working vehicle and just sat around on our asses?", which is clearly him trying to influence her.
Just for the sake of venting over his faulty logic, he acts like everyone who doesn't want to go to Wellington wants to abandon AJ, when the entire idea of instead going someplace warmer that they actually know exists is for AJ's sake; they're two separate points entirely

I wouldn't feel threatened if it was in obvious fear or defense of me. That'd be a realization that I shouldn't be freaking people out like, more so in front of Clem. You're just nitpicking with the knife pulling to provoke part. i don't condone what she did with the baby or Kenny, but he was the physical aggressor in that. She saved them so unsure what you mean by following them
I dunno about you but if someone pulls a knife on me, there's no way in hell I'm going to trust them and am going to feel threatened no matt… moreer what. She also followed the group without them knowing so killing her is going to be the only way they'd be safe, since she could follow them and sneak up on them later. And because after she said she could take him even without the knife as she puts it away, only means she took the knife out to provoke a violent reaction. Her actions are clearly manipulative. She wanted to fight; she wanted to kill him and find a way to do it to justify it to Clem and make it look like self defense when it wasn't.
Lee and Kenny essentially had the same morals. The same ideas, Lee would often want to hold up and think it through. But he'd go with what K… moreenny said. Because even though it was a deplorable option. The state the world was in, it was often the only "right" thing they could do.
Like leaving the girl to get eaten when they were getting supplies from the pharmacy. Wanting to save her is a good, normal human reaction. But it would more than likely get you killed too. It wasnt like she was 3 feet away and they could grab her. She was 50ft away surrounded by walkers. It would take a miracle to get her out unbitten.
Remember what Jane said about rescuing the guy under the truck? They lost 4 guys and he was bitten anyway.
Whilst it was morally right to try and save him. It was the wrong decision.
Sometimes you have to do something morally wrong, to make the right one. Like leaving the girl. You'll know that if you played more than once. I tried … [view original content]
I don't understand it either. I've gone back and played the episodes since Jane's debut, and it's disturbing to see just how wrong I was about her. She truly doesn't seem to care about anyone's feelings but her own. And I'm not sorry for this, but when she has that creepy smile on her face before she shoots Troy in the dick, that just screams "sick in the head" to me. Also, Jane's and Troy's interactions suggest she was extremely manipulative with him prior to escaping, and yes Troy was an asshole, but I can't be the only one who is weirded out by how easily she threw him to the walkers.(she didn't even kill him, she shot him in the frickin dick!) Or how nonchalant she acts about getting rid of Rebecca's baby, I understand that the baby is a liability, but to talk about such a touchy subject that is already weighing heavily on Rebecca's mind so casually is not ok. The only times when she seems to show true emotion, as in actually caring about someone, is when she talks about Jaime. But even then it's hard to get a clear reading on what she's feeling, because if she regretted leaving Jaime as much as she implies, why did she do the same exact thing with Sarah? And then she just up and leaves the group when "it gets too tense", even though she's partly at fault as to why it got too tense in the first place, because she slept with Luke. When things get too tough, Jane runs away to save herself. She did that with Jaime, she did that with Sarah, She's already done it to Clem once, so it's likely to happen again. What I've gathered from her character is that she doesn't want redemption for her mistakes, she just doesn't like feeling bad about them, and she wants to take the easy way out. She didn't like that Clem wouldn't just cut ties with Kenny and the group, so she attempts to force her to. I can't believe I ever liked Jane tbh.
I agree, I'd rather be friends with a complete asshole who is always honest with me, than a person who lies to my face and manipulates me to get her way, because it's supposedly for my benefit, and she knows best in her head. Forgive me if I sound like a teenager, but I don't put up with that fake shit.
That's the one thing j don't understand about all the people who don't have a problem with what Jane did. They're excusing it saying Kenny w… moreas insane, hot headed, violent and would get someone killed.
But that's everything Jane is this episode.
Plus she is manipulative. .. that one person can try to turn someone against someone else is something I despise in a person. It's one of the worst, most disgusting human traits I can think of. Why anyone can condone it is beyond me. No matter what their thoughts on Kenny. The ability to.lie and manipulate should raise a flag...shouldn't it?
She could have stopped the fucking fight by saying "Kenny, Kenny, the baby's alright", Kenny would have put his Floridian O-O face and went … more"Wha--?" and then she explains what the fuck was the trying to prove. She didn't, she wanted to kill him.

No she didn't. If she really wanted to end the fight she could have either told him what happened to AJ and stopped lying to him as well as … morenot jump on Kenny and start beating on him when Clem tries to tear Kenny away. At that point they're separated there was no need for her to hit him if she didn't want to fight, but instead she keeps it going because that's exactly what she wants.
That wasn't Kenny's "true nature" it was his breaking point! After which he returns to his normal self and shows how much he really cares about Clementine and AJ when he begs and cries for Wellington to take them in while he leaves on his own.
Jane revealed Kenny's true nature, that he would kill any of them for disagreeing with him or making a mistake. To be honest I didn't need convincing, he was a mad dog out of control and needed to be put down.

Someone that uses the same example as I did! Brilliant high fives
Oh, wait, I can't, Lilly killed me.

How did you let that happen?
Same here, those last moments after the Lee flashback made me hate her with a passion.
Pretty much, God, I'm starting to think TTG should have imposed the player to kill off Jane in that situation...
Dont remember all the things i did
Did we read the same, LITERAL quote?
Duuude, it was some flawless logic, don't you dare saying the opposite or they gonna say you're just as crazy as Kenny and shit like that.
Is that some sort of homophobic insult?
Just to redeem herself, he didn't want Clementine, he wanted His Sister 2.0, a more obedient version that even kills the people she pisses off for the sake of it.
Cluckers killed Luke.
No.
We cool then, we cool. [TV series Hershel's stare]
I see no one has posted any examples of how Kenny is dangerous yet...
Have my thumbs up sir!

And youre ok with manipulative? Im not...
Damn servers
Hahaha... ! I dont think theres much more they can call me ;-)

But Kenny isnt mad....hes sad, and hes angry. But hes certainly not mad!
No, I'm not. But its not the same as being violent to the point where you scare everyone in your group off.

I agree.

Everyone has a different understanding of characters, sorry if I always look for the good intentions within a character's motives or actions.
She put her knife away... if she wanted to kill Kenny she would've kept her knife out...
Well it goes to show how each of our Clementines are different.
yeah #MyClementine

Absolutely! He has always had his friends best interests at heart. Hes a good guy!
Thank you :-)
