Wait, WHAT! (About Luke)

  • an ending with luke would just be to happy. every ending had to be at least a little bitter sweet.

  • Yeah, I think the point is Luke vs Kenny WAS going to happen, but Telltale saw that the community predicted It was going to happen so they changed it. So.... Jane was originally going to drown? Wait.... no Jane wasn't going to comeback at all. They couldn't bring someone back then immediately kill them. But I think Luke dying at that part was better for the plot anyway :c

  • I found something else!

  • It's better to have a predictable, well written and sane ending than an unpredictable, badly written, insane one. Although judging from what the writers have said, apparently they just wanted to troll everyone.

  • What was "badly written" about it? Made sense to me. It was intense, sure, but I don't think you can call that a bad thing in this type of game.

Exactly, I thought he would open up to Bonnie, not that he would angry-stare the fuck out of Clementine! That's just... out of character, or maybe he's childish.

I can't get the whole scene out of my head :C It keeps replaying....over and over... And that was kinda messed up when he got mad for saying he felt bad.

Ok let's start with the Luke's death. I can come up with a number of solutions that don't involve people going over thin ice in a group. Go around, make sure there isn't another way, first of all. If you claim the walkers are following them that still doesn't mean you can't go around. They were behind them as far as we know. And there was a way across that didn't involve going across the lake. Otherwise, they wouldn't have been able to drive the damn truck off and onto a road.

So we decide to stupidly all go across in a pack, spreading out a little bit. Then Luke falls with one leg into the water. He's panicking a little at this point but he's still not in that much danger. Can easily get out of the situation like he tells Clementine as long as you take care of the walkers. So you do that but then Bonnie, like an idiot, still goes over anyway. At this point, no one else seems to exist. Jane's standing there, not doing anything I guess, I don't know. No one stops Bonnie going through with this idiocy so they both fall in.

At this point, Luke will drown but Bonnie will come up 20 seconds later from the hole you created with no help needed. Where was she before? Why didn't she help Luke while done there? Why is she able to survive for so much longer than Luke despite being much skinnier and more vulnerable to ice cold water? If it's all about panicking, why didn't she panic? I could see maybe Jane remaining calm in that situation cause she's shown to be cool under pressure but not Bonnie. Hell, Clementine was breaking the ice above Luke, he shouldn't have been freaking out as much as he had been. These are just some of the questions running through my head. This shouldn't be happening during a scene like this. I should be feeling fear and sadness. I shouldn't be able to come up with all these questions and solutions to said questions. It's supposed to be feel like a real and inevitable situation and it doesn't feel like that at all.

And that's only Luke's part. That doesn't cover all my issues of character assassination of all the other people in your group outside of Kenny.

  • If Luke wanted Bonnie to know how he was feeling, then he would have talked to Bonnie. It wasn't Clem's place to just go blab it to Bonnie the first chance she has.

It's like when you tell someone a secret, something that you don't want others to find out, and you're trusting this person to keep this secret and understand, but then that someone just tells the next person they see. I'd be pretty mad too if I was Luke.

  • I doubt that means he survived. Most likely they originally planned to make his death variable at that part and maybe have him leave with Arvo/Mike/Bonnie if he survived but changed their minds and had him die at the ice regardless.

  • I know what is like not wanting to talk to certain people, but I wouldn't have given a CHILD such look, that was just childish.

  • Gosh darn it. I assume they scrapped it either because they hadn't set up Luke's character to be able to have that confrontation (he's too nice and he doesn't like direct confrontation and doesn't have Jane's kind of f'ed up outlook on life) or because it was too predictable and everyone already guessed it.

All I know is it would have been ace if the whole scene with Kenny and Jane played out the same but Luke was there. I'd have just let those two kill each other and gone off with Luke and AJ. Perfect ending for me right there! If only.
