What do you want Season 3 to explore?
Lots of threads discuss how the five season 2 endings can cohesively be taken to a similar narrative path for the next season. But how do you want season 3 to develop? What would you like to see happen (or not happen) in season 3? Here's some things I'd like to see.
- Flashbacks/flashforwards/more dream sequences - Seeing what happened in the months when Clem was with Christa, or showing what could happen in the future would be an interesting way to shake up the narrative. Not sure if this would be possible to do though as I haven't read the comics
- A love interest for Clementine - maybe this would work better for the 4th season depending on how old she is in 3. She could find herself in a love triangle, and choosing one person over the other (or neither) would make for some great character development
- Less cliche moments - I love TWD, I think it's perfect... But just because a group are crossing a bridge doesn't mean one of them should die Still, every character death is a complete shock to me.
- Themes of paranoia - people were almost always right to be suspicious. Such as with the cannibals in S1 E2, and Carver being a crazy guy in S2 E3. What if people were scared of someone but they were totally wrong about them?
- More information on Clementine's early childhood - what about the rest of her family? What if Clementine's parents aren't actually dead? How can we be sure that the people she thought she saw in S1 E5 were her parents?
- Themes of suicide - we saw this a little with Sarah, but I think there's a lot of unexplored potential with this very dark theme. Maybe someone could ask you to kill them when they are in ok physical shape, and you can either carry out their wish or convince them that their life is worth living

As good as that can be, they can't go past the timeline of the Comics, though I could careless if they do.
This I agree on, There has been a few moments in the game that was kinder cliché to me. though I can't think of anything off the top of my head
That could be interesting, it would certainly spice things up a bit.
They are dead. here is a couple of pictures to prove that.
Please no...
This is TT we're talking about, they'd be able to pull it off if they wanted to
5 different experiences depending on what choice you made at the end of episode 5.
Unlikely I know, but I can dream.
Great ideas, maybe a love interest would be nice. I'd like Clementine and OJ to be a couple.
It'd be great if they found a way to bridge all of the five endings meaningfully into the beginning of the next season. And I don't mean lamely killing off your choice of partner, but seriously having them in the scenario with you through the story.
I don't want Clem to have a love interest, at least not yet, maybe when she is 20+ with someone her age, what i want is a best friend relationship, maybe the kid from howes or someone from wellington, i decided to go with Kenny (personal thoughts) so for me it will probably be harder to find Clem a good friend.
I think season 3 will be different in pretty meaningful ways to players who chose different endings. The character development is what matters most, not the plot. Everyone's Clementine is different.
Might have to wait about 10 seasons for that to be ethical hahaha
I want Clem to lead a group like Rick in the comics.
I don't think so. TWD ships have a habit of sucking balls, Telltale or not
Lilly. Nuff said.
You can always pick the neither option like I said haha
It would be very interesting to see how she reacts to Clementine, especially if your Lee wasn't on good terms with her, it would show some character development if she is forgiving or not. Her meeting Kenny again would be interesting but i doubt that now he is determinant.
I guess so lol
I want to see more "we found love in a hopeless place" in TWD. We see a lot of relationships that have already been defined, but it would be nice to see a romantic relationship develop and establish over the course of 5 episodes. I'd like Season 3 to be one gruesomely affecting love story, to be honest.
Alternatively I'd also like to find out what happened to Lilly, Molly and Christa.
I'd love for them to find some sort of way to keep our respective endings meaningful, which probably wouldn't be possible if Clem remains the main character.
I was trying to think of some S3 scenarios the other day. One I came up with was it being about Christa's journey to find Clementine. Maybe at the end of S3, she meets up with Clem again a few months after the final events of S2 and we can see how our respective endings continued to play out for a bit.
I'm really really curious to see what they end up doing with S3. It's going to be interesting how they decide to continue after all these endings.
"Clementine, do you think love can bloom on the battlefield" - someone voiced by Christopher Randolph
(Just to be clear I think the storytelling in TWD is miles above MGS, though I do enjoy the craziness of the MGS universe)
I think the problem with not having Clem as the protagonist would be the sense of the detachment we'd feel from seeing her as a non-playable secondary character. We mentored her in season 1, played as her in 2... if we don't play as her again it would make players feel like they parted ways with her
Still if TT wanted to do it differently for season 3 your suggestion is pretty good.
agreed
I can't imagine how hard it must be for TT to decide on when and why they determinant situations in the game... season 2 ends with SEVEN radically different endings. Kudos to them for taking a big risk, I just hope it means we still play as Clem for the next season, as well as what you said.
The Ultimate Group.
Lilly, & Nate.
For some reason i have the odd couple music in my head. I want to see these to interact in the ZA. I can just see the LOLS.
I've got another idea that would build on the trust issues the group faced in season one. Someone in the new group could be a rat, causing the group to fall apart because nobody trusts each other. Think Reservoir Dogs + Walking Dead and that's what I've got in mind XD
One theme I'd really like to see is building up a stable community. Has great potential. I also really want to see a cult in it...I don't know why, I just do.
Also, maybe have the choices of the player change how characters view each other, not just how they view the main character (I thought this was the direction Season 2 was going in to be honest).
Great suggestions. I like the community idea a lot. It may be hard for TT to give the story the same desperate feel the first two seasons had with this concept but I'm sure they'd pull it off.
I'll be satisfied if they don't kill a character in the middle of their character arc unless it serves some purpose to the story or it was a choice. Poor Nick.
Yeah Nick was a shame, but I think it reiterated just how horrific their world is. Shocking things happen to anyone at any point. The fact that his journey felt incomplete actually made his death rather impactful... I think many players thought he might redeem himself at some point, sacrificing himself or doing something good for Clementine.
I do agree though, too many deaths. My only fear with having less deaths is that the episodes would lack the emotional impact of seasons 1 and 2.
