Strange, is it not? One of the main things that made me decide to switch was that I didn't think that I could kill Kenny in real life, so it seemed unrealistic to leave it that way. Allow me to try to explain my other reasons...
I would like to preface this by saying that i dont want to start a fight. There are enough threads doing that already!
You should consider that Jane could have ended the fight all along. All she needed to do was tell Kenny that AJ was alive (or run away until Kenny calmed down, as my Clem told her to do) and it would have been over. She didn't. From her actions I can only assume that she wanted a fight and that she meant to kill Kenny all along and was using the situation as an excuse to do so. Even when she was losing the fight and was about to die she still said nothing to reveal her lie and asked Clementine to help her. What was she asking Clem to do? If all she wanted was to end the fight, she could have done so or at least tried. Instead she forced Clem to make a choice. It is my belief that at that point she intended to essentially use Clem as the murder weapon. From where I'm sitting, it looks like Jane is guilty of attempted premeditated murder.
I like that a player named EthicsAndMorality originally shot Kenny to stop him from murdering Jane, but then rewound it and feels much bette… morer about Clem being an accomplice to murder. It makes me wonder what your Intro to Ethics and Morality course would look like.
[Jane] meant to kill Kenny all along and was using the situation as an excuse to do so
I never thought about it like that. That's a great theory. I've only watched the scene once but doesn't Jane pull the knife out from her belt before Kenny starts attacking her? She definitely wanted a fight.
Soon after I played it I had my own theory, that Jane wanted Clem to kill Kenny so that she knew what she was really capable of. In all the time we spent with Jane she kept suggesting, among other things, that Clem should learn to think more radically about those she trusts. The irony is that Jane herself is untrustworthy (in my opinion), and this made her a really interesting character.
The fight scene is really good and has many layers of depth. I think it highlights that the player never really knows what Jane wanted. For example I even thought that maybe Jane wanted Kenny to kill her, thus corrupting Clem and Kenny's relationship. The situation is looking pretty hopeless once Clem crashes the car, and Jane could have felt like she would have been better off had she not rescued them at the start of the episode. Therefore she may have wanted to drag everyone down with her as revenge. I don't hate Jane or anything, it's just one way you could interpret it!

In that case what really is the difference between changing your opinion and metagaming? You rewinding to not hurt Luke's feelings isn't that different than people rewinding because they felt betrayed, is it?
I've tried rewinding once.
It was in episode 5, when Luke tells you he's upset. I chose to tell bonnie that, I figured we should all be o… morepen, and he looks really hurt.
I think rewinding is fine, but only really as long as your opinions have changed, not because of metagaming!
Lots of people rewound after they found out jane wasn't telling the truth, which isn't really in the spirit of the game.

It's not THAT different, but it's different enough to warrant that approach.
I rewound because I thought to myself, actually that was quite mean, I shouldn't say things like that.
But rewinding after the treachery is found out is saying 'oh it's a hoax, I'm going to rewind and pretend I realised it'. It's a big plot twist, and altering that by metagaming feels wrong.

I made similar thing, because I lost my save files after cleaning my PC, and I had to play again last chapter of Episode 5 before start TWD2, but instead of leaving Lee, I killed him.
Thanks! I can't take complete credit for it, though. I saw someone else on the forums saying something similar and I just expanded on it a little bit. I think that Jane pulled the knife after Kenny took a swing at her and missed but I'm not 100% certain about that. Even so, she was the first to go for a lethal weapon.
Huh...I hadn't thought about it all for Clem's "benefit" before. That's another angle to consider...
It's true, there are many layers to that scene. No matter what choice you make, that scene is very intense. I don't hate Jane either, but I sure don't like her very much and I could never trust her.

It's a video game, there's nothing wrong with fixing mistakes you thought you made. I redid season 1 before playing season 2 because I wasn't entirely satisfied with all of the choices I made, and I redid the previous episode of season 2 before the next one came out if I wasn't happy with all my choices. If rewinding makes you feel better, do It. The option to do so wouldn't be there otherwise.

I rewinded only once, to get the different ending.

I've rewinded here and there, I think the silliest one is when you meet the dog Sam, after he attacks Clem I rewinded back so I could know his name.
The first time a played through I was careful about it and figured touching him might aggro him, so I did not look at his name tag
I maintain two save files.
One is real time decisions (sorry Kenny) and the other is what i think would have been best in hindsight.

I think we all just care about the characters too much! Make the next season less good Telltale!

Nonono, whatever happened happened.

in my playthrough of the whole game i didnt change a single choice, my wife just started playing and her choices are quite a bit different from mine.
