Use of Walkers in TWD

Disclaimer: This is not a pissing match thread might I add...

One of the biggest elements that I payed attention to between the two seasons was the use of walkers. Season 2 seemed to focus more on human vs human conflict, as does the show. However, even the show has some on edge scene when hordes arrive. I feel as though season 1 gave you the more intense scenes with walkers, while season 2 gave us more conflicts with other humans (S1 was just lee vs larry, lee vs stranger, kenny vs lily. Season 2: Pete and nick, clem and rebecca, carlos and clem - although those three were just for one episode. group vs carver, walter and nick, luke and kenny, kenny and jane). Lets look at the walker scenes In season 1. we had

  1. the big scene at the drug store.
  2. the invasion at the motor inn
  3. the horde chasing the train and even the scene where clem is stuck behind the gate in the station
  4. crawford - when Ben removes the hatchet, all the way until the group escapes
  5. when the walkers invade the mansion
  6. of course all through episode 5

In season 2

  1. we had the scene when christa gets "captured"
  2. Uncle pete
  3. the attack when the wind turbine keeps spinning
  4. the scene on the bridge
  5. the escape as well as when mike and kenny broke the window
  6. saving sarah and luke
  7. the deck/balcony - rescuing sarah/jane
  8. saving luke

Which season had the better walker scenes, whether fighting or escaping.

  • to be honest, the zombis are the most boring part of the walking dead.

But the walking dead would't exist without zombies.

  • Honestly, I'm on the edge of my seat more when it comes to the human side of the walking dead, I think my favorite human vs human moment in season 2 was the Nick and Walter angle, my heart just leapt into my throat when I saw that Walter had the knife, definitely one of the best scenes where you talk to someone and try to convince them that someone didn't mean harm.

  • Even kid can kill dozens of them now. Zombies sucked.

  • I concur with that post.

  • The walkers are nearly always the background. I feel season 2 is better as clem struggles to fight even one walker.

That said ep 2 is an example of when there handled weird, for example why does the group just stand there shooting and not running
