"This is Why Android Should get a Same Day/Week Release Date.
Like all the other android users, I have to wait like them for Ep 5. And like them I have also complained about us having to wait for weeks after the other platforms to play, while avoiding spoilers.
So everyday I have been checking on google play for the ep 5 update, to avoid the spoilers on the forums. When I find people who already played it writing spoilers in the comments to ruin the ep for android users. This is what I think android users hate the most, we can deal with the wait, because we are always made to wait for longer with no explanation.
This is why there should be a same day/week release date, because there people deliberately trying to ruin the game for us. And this will lead to people not buying it because its been ruined for them!! Which will then lead to telltale losing money and fans!!!
Comments
I dont think people do it for that reason, its unitentional and sorry i managed to avoid spoilers for a few months after ep 2 was released as I coudlnt play it. I just avoid walking dead sites
I suppose its just down to personal preference. I have played it on both my Xbox and my tablet, and I prefer it on my tablet as I think it plays so much better on there because of the touch screen. Amd I have also brought the season pass.
There are a number of reasons, @AmazingAura01 ..
First, it's 2014. The home PC is fastly losing numbers - heck, I've been a computer user for 34 years and even I don't like having to go to my desk and use my desktop PC anymore. A lot of people have tablets that are on par if not MORE powerful than their PCs.
Second, a lot of people don't like being ankle-shackled by DRM like Steam. Buy it on Android? It's yours; even if Google Play somehow went away - they can't pry it off your machine or deny you access to the game.
Finally, Android is the #1 mobile operating system in the WORLD and it just overtook iOS in the United States. To many of us, Android being "the last one" to get it would be like Windows being the LAST platform to get Internet Explorer or Chrome. When critical mass supports a platform, the developers need to do their part and follow along.
I got sick of waiting and finished Season 2 on the PC (I moved my Android save files so my choices all carried over) - only because I got the PC version for like $4 on a special and I could stream it to my NVidia Shield tablet and continue playing in the lifestyle for which I have grown accustomed.
I really dislike the "red headed stepchild" approach to Android that developers are presenting. I'd like to think Telltale is better than that.
why don't you just give them money for that "other platform"
It wasn't on walking dead sites. Someone when and write the spoilers about ep5 in the comments of the game on the walking dead season 2 Google Play page, when no one on android has episode 5.
Because like I said, its personal preference, I love the game on tablet, I think it works so much better and to me feels like a much better experience than it does on console. Well that's what I think.
Couldn't agree more!!
Then why are you on the comments of a google play page. Just avoid all comments about anything to do with the walking dead. I mean sometimes I've been spoiled being on a page to do with the show, I just stopped blaming the spoiler and avoided anywhere there might be any
Everyone can do pretty much do what they want with their lives. If they prefer the Android, Why should it be forced upon them to wait or to get a PC?
I have to check on google play to see if there's and update, like I had to do last time. I try to avoid spoilers, its just that someone who played it on another Platform deliberately went to the android version to write spoilers where people are just looking for information.
Can't all afford top PCs! And you can get really good tablets for cheap reasonable prices, and plus I like playing on android!
I see, I certainly back your criticism.
Except that smart phones are amazing.
Companies need to hear the wants of the people. This isn't ranting (ok, maybe the OP was) - it is letting Telltale know who their customers are and what they want.
1, how many PC/mac gamers actually pay for there games!!
2, Android brings in several millions in revenue!
3, Android users have never asked it to be released on android first, just for it to be out on the same day/week as other platforms
I have a knida old now, but still decent laptop, an Xbox and a tablet! But I prefer to play walking dead on my tablet over my Xbox. And I don't like/want to play games on my Laptop.
Maybe because they prefer android systems, if you can't take that you might be stupid.
Personal opinions are fine, but please try to avoid "Console War" type posts. Thanks.
I'm not saying all PC/Mac gamers pirate, but it is a envitable fact of the modern world! So when you say tons more people play it on pc, I just wonder what percentage paid for their version. Your right you can on android, but its not that easy, I haven't done it !myself, but I do know it can be a pain in the arse to install third party content (software not on google play) onto android, unless you know how to change the security settings to allow it.
Yeh this kinda went of topic! Lol It Was Originally about people posting spoilers/trolling on google play about the new episode when we didn't have it! Lol
You do realise you don't actually have to read these "rants" right!! And I like a lot of platforms, but for this game I prefer it on android, that's just my personal preference. Just like there's games I would never play on tablet! And vice versus
If you want to check for release date news while trying to avoid spoilers thet best places to try to check are Telltale's twitter or the top post in the episode 5 release date thread which has a list of release dates and it will be updated as soon as there is a official release date for the Android.
Sound I check on twitter from now
So stay off of the damn forums until it has been released. Simplicity itself.
How so? I've never used one and I see absolutely no reason to buy one. I can easily just get a bloody phone or use Skype to talk to someone.
You can pirate for any type of console, PC and tablet.
Yeh but it doesn't mean I want to! In the end I don't mind paying for stuff I like
Sometimes that's easier said than done!
Not really, if you care about the series and don't want to be spoiled stay off the forums it's your fault if you get spoiled. Telltale has a twitter for a reason.
