Yeah I have the same problem with Sarah's death. Luke I think filled Lee's shoes in season two and I feel like he did not get enough attention when he died. I honestly don't remember people talking about it much at all when he died. A good long scene showing a freezing Clementine in total sadness would have been just amazing. She could look up and see everyone arguing, while Madworld plays in the background. I dunno. Just a moment where everything in her world grinds to a halt for a while.
What? im sorry but are you serious?
Most deaths in Season two like Sarahs arent cared about one bit, Luke is brought up several times aft… moreerwards and Clementine does feel bad, you cannot expect her to be mopping while she is freezing to death and finally warm afterwards. Luke is brought up by Kenny, Jane, Bonnie and Mike his death was not brushed off quickly compared to other characters.
I wish that could have happened, but then their would be even more endings and the outcomes would still be different. Think about it, Luke and Jane would have been real cute but Luke and Kenny probably would of turned out bad since neither liked each other much. So, again, lazy writing probably.
I dont feel he would have had to die, he could have been incapacitated for the night whilst recovering, then all the shit breaks loose, by t… morehe time Luke stirs awake Bonnie, Mike and Arvo have ran and Kenny is telling Luke they need to leave. NOW. Luke and kenny later get out the car together to look for diesel, end up at the rest stop, Luke is resting with his back to the wall, (hes very weak) with his leg outstretched when the fight breaks loose, Jane and Kenny cause a shelf to be knocked out of place, falling and knocking luke unconscious, the fight then takes place with Clementines choice being made, just as Kenny stabs jane or Clem kills Kenny Luke staggers out of the door exclaiming "wait...stop....." then our choice takes place..
Whacha think? just an idea dont hate me. With this method we end up being with 1 non-determinant character leading into season 3
Yeah I guess so, I mean we (as Clementine) couldn't push a cannon until Luke helped so he definitely had the strength... Telltale really need to think these things through huh?;p
Well it's a possibility but Luke seemed to be in perfect shape way before the ice incident. He had sex with Jane which would have made him f… moreeel a lot brighter as well xD. But to answer your point, no, luke still seemed very well fed and in great condition, you must remember Bonnie is a smoker, and ex drug addict and very thin, I just dont understand how she can physically out compete luke in regard to survival of the fittest, unless its cross country running.
Jesus, I hate this threads. Not everyone reacts rationally when you're so afraid you're shitting your pants. Bonnie panicked when she tried to help Luke. Not to mention not everyone knows how to react in this particular situation, unless you've seen it in a movie or lived in very a cold place. Your mind is racing and you make stupid desicions.
Also, Luke had gotten shot in the leg, remember? He was from his best shape, even if "the bullet just went through". In fact, since we can assume Bonnie had been clean from drugs in a while and Carver didn't allow smoking, she might have even been in a better shape than Luke at the time. Though both activities leave permanent damage, all the reversible damage would've been healed by now.
Morever, why in God's name do you expect a drowning man who's freezing himself to death to just "stay calm" and wait for a kid to save you? I can agree that Bonnie simply pulling herself up after 5 minutes was stupid. She should've either died (I mean, she leaves ten minutes later anyway) or pulled herself up rightaway, but there's no way Luke was gonna start thinking of "saving oxygen".
And I don't even notice the magical walkers anymore. In all the Walking Dead media, they just appear out of nowhere, even if it was obvious that place was safe. They can teleport when we're not looking if the plot requires it.
Finally, you don't need to start talking about alveoli and cardiac hyperthrophy. If you say you're smart, I believe you. There's no need to prove it and it doesn't make your argument any more valid.
The only problem I had with this episode was the aftermath of Luke's death. I figured if we shot the walkers he'd have time to climb out, like he said. Unfortunately Bonnie went over and caused the ice to crack. Stupid, but okay, people are stupid sometimes.
Then she spent the rest of the game pissed at ME for not going over to help him. Screw her. My only disappointment in this whole episode was that I didn't get chance to blame HER for Luke's death. Instead I just have to stand there while she bitches about it being MY fault.
I'm allowed to analyze it if I want. Besides I wouldn't call Lukes death a small detail, more like something that dramatically changes the outcome of the entire season. If he hadn't of died then we could have gone into season 3 with 1 non-determinant character
Truth be told, this was a river. Rivers don't just stop flowing during the wintertime, it's still going under the frozen surface. The fact they weren't all just immediately swept away by the current is unrealistic in and of itself.
Well i'm definitely pissed off about Lukes death but when Bonnie blamed me for it I wanted to do to her what kenny did to Carver, the bitch got Luke killed. When she said "we both know what happened back there" I wanted the option to say "yeah, you kill Luke".
Its more heart breaking for me if you send Clem over to Luke and you hear him desperately pleading with Clementine to go back, that makes me feel like I killed him, Luke knows the ice wasnt gonna hold and he knew he was probably gonna die and you can hear it in his voice I know I did the right thing, but smashing the Ice just keeps replaying, I keep seeing Luke just slowly die Its like on a loop D':

The amount of time outside in cold wet clothes could result hypothermia and him not recovering from it.

There was audio for the outcome of Luke surviving the situation. I'm sure they changed it out because everyone expected a Luke vs Kenny decision. They decided to kill Luke (in which when he died, I wasn't 110% he was really dead because I was still thinking maybe Luke vs Kenny, and that Luke would come out soon or something) so that they could move it more to Jane and Kenny. Ice Cream and Pizza.
Hes just backing his argument up with science. There is no problem with that ._. and it would take more than just year or so to heal up, It takes years maybe decades depending in how long and heavy she smoked to fully recover, then she also did drugs. She could never possibly fully heal that level of abuse.

Thats cute, trying to use logic in a TellTale game. Still his death sucked but it had to happen to get the three others to leave, your arugment and facts are pretty good but... "ITS OVER".
there are some ridiculous things in game.
one of them is beginning scene of episode 5.where arvo's group is destroyed. almost.but it seems his group have an advantage towards clem group.( their weapons)(clem-luke kenny and.... were surrounded) ,clem's group win that involvement with Incredible casualties.
It wasn't a river... if I recall it right it was a lake (Clem said so). But I think if you fell into dark (winter)water you can lose your orientation. And I don't know if you can find a hole in the ice under water.

I really don't like the fact he dies. It's one of the best deaths this season but Luke should have been able to get alive. There's even audio of him out of the ice which wasn't used!
I do have a conclusion about the walkers though. 2 do fall into the water and Bonnie (at least I think it's her) says that's 2 less to deal with.
Now if you go to cover Luke, Clem takes longer to fall in the water and the walkers sink but if you help Luke, you fall into the water sooner. Allowing one of the walkers to grab Clem's leg and one to get a better grip of Luke, he's unable to get the walker off him and is dragged down with him. Walkers can't swim but they still have control of their arms so they are able to grab Clem/Luke on their way down.
OP here is another question for you... I agree with you the death scene was dumb, it was so unrealistic.
The human body floats because it is 98% water, i mean this is speculation but why aren't the zombies just sinking like a stone, and where did that magical zombie come from that grabbed Luke in the first place.
Nope, but they had to kill Luke off somehow. I lived in Ohio for a long time, and i know the water never freezes over so you can walk across it. It does maybe one or two inches but that wouldn't support the weight of the human form.

I agree with every point made. Maybe comment on the fact that the zombies underwater appeared out of nowhere.
While i agree that many times zombies are used as a plotpoint to scare people and suddenly appear out of nowhere because reasons, but however there isnt a reason why zombies should be underwater as they have all been shot, there could have been zombies in the water all along that died months ago. That suddenly had something to do because fresh meat. Lazy thing to assume still, but thats what i assumed.
Still i would agree that zombies should have no idea how to swim.
The thing I can't understand is... Clementine freed herself by kicking the zombie. Why didn't/couldn't Luke free himself? I may would have understand it if the zombie grabed him on his good leg. With the injured leg he might couldn't get enough force to free himself. But the zombie grabed his injured leg... so he could have kicked it with his good one. Did I miss something here?

Jersey and Pennsy have had the water freeze to the point where we could walk over it. Last year the ice was so thick on the Delaware river they had to have ice breakers out there constantly, and in the past it's frozen over more than enough to support human weight as well.

Just going to say that in one of my gameplays (where I make Clem as rude as I can) Bonnie died in the water too. I stayed to cover Luke, she then went to help him and they both fell through the ice. There was then the option to smash the ice where Luke was trying to get out - I ignored it, resulting in both Bonnie and Luke drowning.

love that video...
I don't think Luke and Kenny would have turned out bad. In the campfire scene, you can tell they are warming up to eachother.
He got shot in the leg >24 hours ago, meaning blood loss and loss of mobility, and also he got beaten up by Carver pretty badly...
excuse me
but ur title spoils
I vote Guybrush Threepwood for Season 3. He can hold his breath for 10 minutes.
Luke was such a great character how could TTG kill him...
He could still push a pretty large and heavy cannon.![:/ :/](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/confused.png)
You might wanna make the name less spoilery.

Seriously, it wasn't gonna take much longer to just go around the lake.
Nope, but they had to kill Luke off somehow. I lived in Ohio for a long time, and i know the water never freezes over so you can walk across it. It does maybe one or two inches but that wouldn't support the weight of the human form.
Lexi is just a troll and nothing more . They did'nt kill him off for that . These Kenny vs Luke threads had a lot to do with it.

Luke, it was his destiny.
If that was true, everyone would die at the beginning of the episode.
