First post, never played these games.
I saw Walking Dead GOTY today for the first time. It looks cool, kind of like Borderlands cell art crossed with The Last Of Us with Beyond Two Souls controls. It look really cool. If I buy it today what will I be getting? I don't understand these "new seasons". Are these new seasons DLC's? How does this work?
Thanks.

You'll be getting the full season of episodes which is a total of five as well as some other little bonuses. Definitely worth buying. I've played a lot of games in my time but none have touched me as much as The Walking Dead... Prepare yourself for an awesome story.
You will enjoy playing it, lots of feels!
BUY IT NOW! DON'T BROWSE ANY OF THE THREADS HERE DUE TO SPOILERS!
PLEASE BUY IT
They call them seasons, because the series is presented episodically. You play one episode, you move onto the next. The second Season is not DLC, it's a proper video game sequel and a separate game. However, there is DLC for the first season called "400 Days".
But yes, if you like the games you said above you should most certainly give the game a shot. I find it far better than most story based games. Most of us will though, since this is a forum about it. :P
Thanks guys. Will be buying it today.
But how do these extra season work? Are they DLC's?
Also, does this forum have email instant notification like other forums?
Plus, having to try to figure out the stupid captcha system every time I post will get very tedious.
Man i envy you. wish i never played any of it and now i would live some of my most enjoyable 10 hours
Do they have a memory deleter yet?
Dude this game is a huge bomb ( in a good way duh ) You will enjoy playing it, be prepared for the emotional scenes!
Omfg I WISH
THIS!
YOU MUST BUY SEASON 1 FIRST!
OMG IT'S YOU!
GET AWAY FROM ME!
Definitely worth playing! you will have to choose what platform to play it on though - origin/telltale/steam/ps3 and many others. You will be buying all 5 episodes from season 1 or 2 and you will have to buy the DLC separately (I think)![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
So luckily for you buying it now, you will already have all the episodes released for you and won't have to wait a few months before another episode is released. But definitely get season 1 first.
Hope that helped
Wow! Lots of good comments. Thanks.
So this new game is a sequel?
Leaving in a few minutes to buy it.
Wish it would send me an email after someone posts. Can't stay on one forum all day…

PS3. Can't wait. Saw it for the first time today on YT and I was amazed. I LOVE Borderlands 2 and the cell animation but I love zombie games too and I like the way it's a story type game. Looking forward to it.
Stop. Please
You started it.
PS: I accidentally liked your post >_<
STOP IT!
I did stop "it". But you started it, silly billy.
Please fuck off!
Stop it with those pics!

Err , do you remember the other thread?
Yeah , so uh , you did start it.
You asked for an explanation, then you proceeded calling me a weird guy and something else which I can't remember.
There's 2 seasons which contain 5 episodes each. I highly recommend to buy season 1 and play each episode in order. Meaning 1,2,3,4,5. It isn't required to play season 1, but if you want to understand the characters and theme, play it. Also same case with season 2.
The retail GOTY version of the season comes with a slip that refers you to a Telltale page which allows you to download the soundtrack from season one. It's neat.
There is Season 1: once you buy it, you'll have 5 episodes to play (Because Telltales releases its game in different parts)
Then there is a DLC named 400 days: Play it if you liked S1 but it won't be necessary to play Season 2
And there is the Season 2: same thing as S1, buy it and you'll have 5 episodes to play
The game is really good
Prepare your feels and feel free to post on this forum what was your experience!
No , I asked for an explanation , you sent me that pic , I called you weird , you started sending me those pics.
I sent you a picture explaining the other thing, then you called me weird and I posted eyerolling GIFS. I don't see what is the problem here.
The problem is you're spamming me with them.
I tell you stop and you carry on!
After you told me to stop I DID stop. What is wrong with you?
YOU DID NOT STOP IN THE OTHER THREAD!
I TOLD YOU TO STOP.
YOU DID IT AGAIN HERE
LOGIC
Also , please stop hijacking the thread.
I did stop in the other thread, don't be blind and go read that thread again.
Also
GET AWAY FROM ME!
You started the "hijacking".
Also you didn't tell me to stop in the other thread, you told me to leave you alone so I did.
I dont think there is a word to describe this game. You'll be very amazed once you play it.
Remember,you can not save everyone.
Okay, I started playing it. First I got killed a lot till I got the hang of it. I'm now where they need to get the keys.
This is an emotional game to be sure!
But I REALLY like it.
It's tough making some decisions especially so fast. Is the replay value any good with this game?
Now, onto my other question. Someone please explain, I bought a brand new copy of the GOTY edition. What all does that include so I'll know what to buy later, the other "seasons" I mean. I notice this is a TV show but I haven't watched TV for a VERY long time. Ever.
What season does GOTY contain?
Thanks for all your help.
Spare yourself the wait for season 3, don't buy season 2 yet!!!
The replay value is really good. For example, you can replay the all game making different decisions and see how it'll affect the story.
The Goty (Game Of The Year) edition includes the entire Season 1. If you want Season 2 or the DLC, you'll have to buy them too.
Also, the TV show and the game have no link. And I even think they are not set in the same universe. The game is in the same universe as the comic (which is the original "The Walking Dead"), that I know for sure. But the game has its own story so you don't have to read the comic to understand. The only character who appears in the comic and the in game is Glenn.
Oh and last thing, if you play Season 2 be sure that it's on the same platform as Season 1 (if you played on PS3, buy Season 2 on PS3 too for example), because there are some little neat changes in Sesaon 2 depending on how you played Season 1. Normally, when you start Season 2, the game will search Season 1 data. I play on PC but I think it's the same thing for others platforms (if you have a problem just post it on the forum and we'll help you out).
I'm glad you enjoy the game![:) :)](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/smile.png)
Hello CatSky, I'm sorry if I am dense but I still don't understand.
The GOTY edition, does it come with ANY DLC's?
If not then I will have to buy them as this game is THAT good, very creepy, I love it.
Now, what are the actual physical disks that I would buy called?
Is it Walking Dead Season 2 that I would try to buy a physical disk?
That's what I'm getting at, which is a physical disk and which is DLC and what are they named?
Thanks.
BTW: I DESPISE this forum's CAPTCHA crap. It makes me NOT want to come here.
I HATE those stupid things, it takes me FOREVER to figure one out.
The GOTY edition comes with the only DLC, and a "the making of" video, which you should watch after finishing the game as it contains spoilers. Season 2 is only available digitally but will have a physical copy soon.
CAPTCHA? I only had to do it once and then I was done.
