Greg Miller mentioned in his '5 Things You Don't Know About The Walking Dead Season 2' video that Clem's story is far from over. I know he isn't associated with Telltale but he's certainly close to some of the developers, so perhaps he's not wrong?
Clem being an adult is a "new angle".
TWD has yet to fully explore what it's like to grow from a child to an adult in the ZA. I mean, the… morere's plenty of kids in these stories but not enough time has passed for us to see what type of person a kid would grow into.
I suspect if we do get to follow Clem into adulthood, I imagine she won't be much like her young self.
Thanks. I was surprised by the fact there are barely any threads like this so figured I'd take the time to share why Clementine is awesome and why she needs to continue her legacy.
"It wouldn't feel the same without Clem"? I'm sorry but this is not true, for me at least. I liked 400 days DLC as much as I liked season 2. Nice thread by the way
True, 400 Days did have an awesome atmosphere and it certainly felt like The Walking Dead, but none of those character's stories could really remain interesting for a whole season. I just think that dropping Clem would result in me having a hard time becoming invested again, simply because all the ties to previous events and characters would be cut and I'd feel cheated. :c

That's a real buzzkill if you think that way. Clem story is the only story that is gonna make me feel emotion. Taking that away is stupid. Ricks storyline is 2 decades old. Clem deserves to keep going
And I dont want to keep playing the same game, which is what I think we would be doing if Clem stayed the same age and just ended up with another group of survivors.
you guys, there is no way in hell Clem will be the protagonist or even appear in season 3. And the evidence for that is the endings that are mututally exclusive. The writers, sadly may I add, shit all over the Clem story line - let you choose whatever ending you wanted - so they can move on to different characters and settings. I hate it for reasons mentioned here but it is already done. I dont know how any of you who think she ought to come back imagine it will work given the ending we got. It's done.
It ain't over till its over... Telltale are going to have to announce that there will be no Clem in season 3 for me to stop believing... As of now I am rooting for one more Season with Clem.

Fuck.
To me there is a big difference between 1 and 3 years. I'm not suggesting keeping her a child forever but for a game where we are supposed to shape the character a 3 year gab would just be too long.

I doubt they are gonna pick a different character to play as in season 3. They gave 6 different endings for Clem, and i dont think Telltale would put all that time into making all those places for nothing. It is weird though that when they announced season 3 they didnt say Clementine was going to be the main character.
Agreed. In the Playing Dead interview the devs mentioned that their main focus with the endings was to create a really awesome, player-driven finale and they didn't want to think too much about the future. I'm willing to bet their main objective right now is coming up with a way to continue Clementine's story while catering to each individual player's choices.

Putting Clementine is Season 3 would be too hard because of the fact that there are very different endings in Season 2. Unlike Season 1 where Lee always died in the ending, Clementine can have like 5 different endings.
It'd be best to just get a whole new cast of people, or else it'll end up like the Walking Dead tv show (season 1 and 2 were good, then got tiresome after that because they kept bringing back the same characters).

I would love to see Clementine and play with her for onother season. But if TT desides not to continu with her (that would be a mistake) then I would at least like to get closure. The endings just left us wanting more of her. Her story is not over. We should know if she died or if she is actually safe. That make sence?

Thank god they put in Clementine, apparently they were thinking of leaving her out because they assumed the players wouldn't be that emotionally attached. I bet telltale loves how wrong they were.

If they didn 't it would be just like the guy\gal who wrote this thread. The game would have been just a spin off. So it would really make sence to continu playing as Clementine, or at least for her to be there.
I agree with this thread 100% I've said long ago I liked the idea growing with Clem as a survivor in the ZA. She has a lot more story to go!
I will admit I never wanted to be stuck with AJ, but I wouldnt mind a few years timeskip.
Clem is around 15, AJ about 5 but has grown up as a zombie killing team.
Otherwise [Hire a babysitter] or [Put in backpack]
I'll probably be seriously disappointed and depressed if Telltale ever announce that Clementine won't be protagonist in Season 3... It would most likely genuinely ruin my mood, lol. She's really too great a character to move away from.
I believe that for the next episode should take place a few years from the last time we see Clem and AJ, because then we have a new story that is almost like lee's story. because if Clem is now a woman and AJ has grown with her they already have that connection which will make choices harder. For example, if you were an ass most of season 2 it should show up in season 3 and AJ would be affected by it, such as he is somewhat of an ass himself, but if you were good to other the same thing would happen with AJ. he would be kind and considerate to others. Now when you make choices you are basically a mom to AJ, and he will follow you no matter what.

but how? How can Kenny both live and go with her to Wellington but also br shot? How can Jane go with her, when she shot Kenny? How can Kenny be alive and Jane also live? I mean look, I dont like it either. In fact, I am seriously pissed off at this. But it dawned on me yesterday that the only reason they would do this kind of an ending is to put an end to the whole Clementine story line. I know it sucks and I hopw i am wrong too, but I dont know how i could be.
Dude, there's plenty of potential ways in which they could continue her story... They could tie everything up with a timeskip, or do a slightly branching season introduction in which all of the endings are brought up to the same point, allowing Telltale to develop a linear story for its remainder as per usual. There's no reason to suddenly assume they won't carry on with Clem; seems unlikely that they'll ditch her.
but they are MUTUALLY EXCLUSIVE ENDINGS. Hello.....are you folks for real? There is no way that telltale can make a continuity out of it/ Either Kenny is dead or not, he cannot be both. This is common sense. you dont need Telltale to confirm what you know already...

Indeed he does say that around 2:17...
I want to see Clem as an adult but I dont think theyre going to go there just because of the comic canon.
I wouldn't like it at all if Clem is now suddenly 14 or so in the next season. I would feel cheated.
Well done with this thread Hazzer, this is the kind of shit telltale actually notices.
How come? Did you feel cheated when Clementine suddenly jumped to the age of 11 near the beginning of Season 2?
Thanks. I was surprised by the fact there are barely any threads like this so figured I'd take the time to share why Clementine is awesome and why she needs to continue her legacy.
I couldn't. When Clementine cries, i cry. Hell, i'm about to cry right now, just by looking at that picture..
I agree 100% with you. Clementine is the main character in the game, and when she dies, the story ends.
I don't want Clementine to become older. She's so adorable as she is. 1 month timeskip, not more.

Yup, that's me. I uploaded the track as soon as Amid the Ruins was released. :P
I sincerely hope you're wrong. :P I'm sure they're capable of tying up each ending nicely with a timeskip or something along those lines.
I doubt they are gonna pick a different character to play as in season 3. God help them if Clem isn't in season 3... it just wont be the same game to me if that happens...

They should make a time skip with AJ being 16 and Clem 27 and they would have an adventure like the last of us
i still like the third season to but season 4 got boring ( Excpect episode 8 that one was awesome )

Agreed. I have no issue with them moving on from Clementine's story as long as she gets some proper, satisfying closure.
Thank god they put in Clementine, apparently they were thinking of leaving her out because they assumed the players wouldn't be that emotionally attached. I bet telltale loves how wrong they were.
AJ should be the protagonist of season 3
Glad someone agrees.
Yep, it's a damn great thing that they did. Hopefully they make the right choice with Season 3 as well.

I don't think they would've kept Clem alive if they didn't want to see her again, so I'm sure at the very least she'd cameo in the next season.

really? Deductive reasoning and facts will not convince you to believe Clem is a goner? You need to hear them say it?
