What would a Canon Clementine be like? Opinions Needed

What is the real Clementine like? In Season 1 she's a quiet, hard to read, little girl whom has lost her parents. She can be a bit mischievous as evidenced by teasing Duck with the bug on his pillow. She's also perceived to be a mature girl through the entire series, but still acting like a innocent child in certain events.

In Season 2, it's obvious the events of Season 1 have changed her. She appears to be much more hardened and even a bit numb to the world around her. The events of Season 2 seem to further destroy her innocence.

But my question is, in Season 1 we had a more defined and clear view of who Clementine is, as well as being able to influence her through Lee's words and actions. But we could still see Clementine as a mature, and strong little girl who was always wanting to do the right thing.

In Season 2, who is Clementine? We are able to take control of her, and control almost her every action. So, this time around, we don't have such a defined understanding of who Clementine really is? Some of us play Clementine in the sense that she is us and we ourselves have been dropped into the world itself. And some of us play in the sense that we're playing as an 11 year old girl in the apocalypse and are trying to guide her through it.

So, my question is, who is the real Clementine?

Is she the harsh / darker girl we can play as?

Is she the more kind hearted and peace-making girl?

Or is she the indifferent and survivalist girl we can make her?

What is the real Clementine like?

The reason I ask, is because I want to write a Walking Dead Game fan fiction following the end of Season 2. So, going off my own ending I can make a few assumptions, but I still want the opinion from the community, what do y'all think the real Clementine is like?

  • That's a good way of looking at it. :) Thank you for the opinion. :)

I think Clementine is a hardened girl holding onto the little humanity she has left. We can play her as humane or a survivor but it only effects her actions, not her emotions.

  • Silent Clem is canon Clem. Silent Clem goes the Wellington

  • Clemenmime.

  • I guess more specifics is what I'm kinda thinking of, like, if she'd be nice to strangers/open to getting into a group again etc. But I understand what you're saying. :) Thanks for the feedback! :)

  • Well... the thing is that there's no true canon, you influence their decisions and the outcomes are your canon. Just because Clementine was different in Season 1 doesn't mean her character can't fully change and still be canon.

  • Well, in my game, she's pretty tough and brave, but she still keeps her humanity and tries to do what she thinks is right.
