Why there might be a DLC on it's way

So...this is pure speculation, but...

Many probably remember the 'special statistics' from Season 1. It was basically a sum up of the most important facts about each main character (example Ben: You told him to tell Kenny the truth. He died in Crawford...etc)

This is missing for Season 2. Is it just a oversight? I don't think so. The Wolf Among Us also had these statistics, meaning that the story is done and there won't be a story DLC (imo).

Now, if they are missing for TWD: Season 2, then maybe that means there's something more to Clem's story before Season 3.

A story DLC which will tie up loose ends.

'Better To Sleep'?

EDIT: It is possible that this DLC is free, as it is necessary to have played it before Season 3.

'Better To Sleep' on the PS3 might have been a similar mistake as Mike still being determinant, and is actually the name of the DLC and not Episode 6.

  • Good point! And if there only is one ending they could start with Clem <3 in Season 3 again! :)

  • Yeah, that's what I thought. I think they still have plans for Clementine.

  • A DLC about what happened to Christa would be nice.

  • The only problem would be, that people who don't buy it will have a lack of story knowledge for Season 3. I hope TTG has some ideas.

  • True, but it is possible that it won't cost anything.

On Play Station Network, it says 'Episode 6: Better To Sleep' instead of 'Episode 5: No Going Back' (at least it did once).

I can see it being a free DLC, as it would be EA 2.0 to let us pay for story and I don't think Telltale is that far yet.

btw are you from Germany? I'm too :3 (if you are)

  • Yay mehr Deutsche :3

Gibt nicht so viele hier (aber schon ein paar)

    I am!

  • I honestly think she died.

But maybe we meet her again in the same DLC. Why not?

I just think it's more likely that Telltale will make a DLC which ties up loose ends.

I hope you're right, man. I really do. If about Clementine, it'd make a straight storyline for Season 3. End of this Clem-can't-be-protagonist-again-because-of-different-endings thing.

  • Well, Kenny came back too although (I think) most people thought he would be dead.

  • Perhaps she did.. It's quite possible, it is TWD after all. But even so, I'd like to see how that happened (considering she survived the attackers in S1), where did she end up, was she alone all this time, did she try to find Clementine or decided to go her on way, maybe we almost crossed paths but missed eachother by just minutes? Stuff like that.

    'I got lucky. Real lucky.'

    First of all,

The Wolf Among Us also had these statistics, meaning that the story is done and there won't be a story DLC (imo).

I reallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy hope thats not the case as I would love a DLC for Wolf (and Walking Dead season 1 got those stats and had 400 Days so I don't think that is accurate anyway).

I think Telltale didn't want to make special stats considering all the different endings, and I also don't think that they would make a DLC in which it is almost necessary to play it in order to understand how season 3 will begin, because thats not how a lot of DLC's work.

I do think Telltale will be bringing us a DLC in between now and s3, but like I said I don't think its going to be one that a big impact on season 3 in regards to how Clem's story starts out.

  • "better to sleep" is so stupid and makes me cringe

  • About the TWAU DLC, I meant a story DLC, not any FLC at all. I don't consider 400 Days a story DLC, for example.

And I think the DLC might be free/already part of the Season Pass.

First of all, The Wolf Among Us also had these statistics, meaning that the story is done and there won't be a story DLC (imo).

  • It still was on PSN, even though I can't see if it reads Episode 5 or 6

  • Well even if there will be a DLC, i wouldn't be all excited yet. We got a lot of waiting. But at least we no longer have to wait for episodes...for now.

  • It says episode 5, you can noticed its off just like the B

It still was on PSN, even though I can't see if it reads Episode 5 or 6

  • You know, Better to Sleep reminds of the flashback with Lee when he tells Clem to go to sleep.

  • It could be summarised for them in S3. It's what he don't want "Gee Clem, it sure is good you and so and so came here from wherever you were because of whatever mishap" But if there's a DLC explaining it, it's fair imo. Those who get it get the explaining, those who skip it get a summary in S3. Really Idk anyone whom would intentionally skip a TWDG ep if they want more TWDG

The only problem would be, that people who don't buy it will have a lack of story knowledge for Season 3. I hope TTG has some ideas.

  • At least it's a bit less cliche than "no going back". Neither are as awesome as "amid the ruinds" though.

  • I kind of wish they kept episode 5's title as "Better to Sleep". It sounds more creative and a lot more hopeless and dreary than "No Going Back". I could even see how it could have fit into the episode. Near the end of the episode it's just Clem and the baby left walking through the blizzard (maybe a friend or two) and it's just so cold and windy, and they all get so tired and worn out and end up just collapsing into the snow one by one. Kind of like "Oh, everyone has died, and I am so tired, there isn't much left to live for, might as well just fall asleep here in the wind and snow".

But maybe that would have been too depressing if everyone just slowly froze to death and gave up in the blizzard, hahaha

  • then "Better to sleep" is just unused title?

  • I agree with you. You've got a handsome air around you I simply cannot describe.

If Kenny can survive the alleyway, Christa can easily escape those scavengers.

  • Instead of a DLC, I think I would have preferred an extended cut of some kind (a la Mass Effect 3) to fill in more content and chance some scenes to improve the experience of Season 2.

  • When I first heard "Better to Sleep", I thought of Kenny's speech at Wellington when he tries to convince Clementine to stay. He says "Where you can just be a kid, for awhile. Where you can sleep at not without having a gun next to you."

Since Kenny is the only ending with a sleep reference, they probably changed it to remove any bias towards endings, or players thinking picking Kenny is canon.

I would like a dlc of something like this. I also had several ideas like one featuring Omid/Christa, Kenny's survival, Eddie story, Cabin Group escape, Carver building Howe's community. All these and the one in the OP would be cool.

  • ha, your username is a refrence to my favorite line of the whole game

then "Better to sleep" is just unused title?

  • Why there might be DLC on the way:

Because most games these games have DLC.

    /theendnomorespeculationneeded

  • Telltale Games already makes us pay for the story. $4.99 per episode or season pass XD

True, but it is possible that it won't cost anything. On Play Station Network, it says 'Episode 6: Better To Sleep' instead of 'Episode 5

  • the platinum trophy on PS3 for one hundred percent completion isnt there yet so maybe they are waiting for that?
