Also he said both his parents have died. He grew up with Nick (correct me if i'm wrong) as well. So if it was true then probably someone else would have shouted it out at some tense moment when discussing him.
Everything was explained in "The Empire Strikes Back".

I remember reading that theory months ago some time after Episode 2 came out. Luke isn't related to him though, otherwise the characters would've brought it up and we'd of gotten a Star Wars moment :P

Yes, one of their points is that he ran away from the group and won't come back (episode 2). But he does so the theory is dead in the water.
