How about this, for a new playable character for Season 3?

edited September 2014 in The Walking Dead

We play as a character, who's the leader of a group in Season 3, who's discovers from the doctor in the group early in the game, that he's terminally ill.
Say he has lung cancer, from smoking.
As you play as this character, and as the season progresses, he becomes weaker, making it harder to deal with walkers, as well as other issues that come up, that require him to be active, like making supply runs, keeping order in the group, etc.

And the question constantly being, "How will you spend the time you have left?
Will you be kind and patient, and put the needs of the group above your own?
Or will you become a self-serving, self-preserving son of a bitch, especially when the group discovers a hospital in the area that is set up to treat cancer, and that can get power re-established to it?

NOTICE: I kind of got this idea, from what happened with Lee in episode 5 of Season 1.
After he was bit by the walker, he had to decide how he was going to spend the time he had left.
Now unfortunately, the writers made that decision for us.
But I was wondering, suppose the player had to make that choice themself?
What would they do?

That's my idea, for both a PC character, and a possible story for Season 3.
What do you think?
And if you have any ideas of your own, please feel free to share them.

  • Nope.

It could be interesting, but nope.

Clem is love, Clem is life.

  • before this i was 100% Clem, but this actually seems like a kinda interesting plot though, but im pretty sure Telltale aint gonna use your idea, so maybe you should make a textbased game instead, or ask someone else to use your story in their game

    .

  • Sorry but Clem Till The End. I started this Journey with Clem back in season one now let me finish it with her.

  • I'm gonna sound like a broken record, but I would love a new protagonist.

  • Maybe for DLC

If Clem "isn't" the main character in the next game a lot of people won't buy it. "I" still would at least try the first episode, but I know many people would lose interest.

  • Yeah, and it'd be called Breaking Dead.

It's okay. I wouldn't mind seeing it happen too.

  • Im not ready to let go of Clem just yet, I think she needs 1 more season.

  • Nah, Clem. I want Clem.

  • I love Clem. If she's gonna be S3 protagonist, I'm perfectly okay with it.

  • Playing as a dying person is dull, no time left is my least favourite for this reason

  • I wanna have Clem again.

  • If I get to pick my next character his name is going to be Johnny "Bell" Fartmancer, a professional bottom-based ventriloquist who can distract walkers with his melodious ass-anthems and cheeky wind blasts.

"..." will be replaced with a variety of buttsound. Silence is not a valid option.

  • Did you just call Lee dull?

I never saw Lee as a character I was just me, apart from the odd scene for example the one where Christa asked who else liked history.

Same with clementine, she was more or less dead the minute I took control, i was me just female and a kid now
