Kenny and Luke, teaming up? - Poll
Imagine if the story played out like this : Jane never came back,
Bonnie drowned instead of Luke, Mike still left with Arvo, Kenny
and Luke arrived Wellington and Clementine is allowed to stay
there with AJ.
What would be the aftermath? Kenny and Luke stays together or
split up? In the final episode of season 2, they seemed not to hate
each other's guts anymore since the campfire scene.
Maybe Kenny trust Luke after all and Luke doesn't think Kenny is
such a bad man, considering he plead for Clementine's safety.

I personally think they've settled things up. Kenny is a difficult
guy to deal with, but I don't think Luke would just leave him
after a proof that he's not that bad of a guy.
Kenny also probably don't wanna be alone again and won't
turn down the opportunity to develop a friendship with Luke.
EDIT : Kenny and Luke wouldn't have a confrontation like Kenny and Jane. Luke wouldn't hide the baby.

Luke wouldn't hide AJ and get Kenny all fired up. Also, Luke wasn't really adamant about going to any specific place, so he would probably end up at Wellington with Kenny, AJ and Clementine.
There wouldn't be any confrontation between them
I thought of writing a fanfiction (No romance stuff lol) about this.
I just wondered if it was a good idea.
I think they were perfectly capable of forming a duo. I don´t think for one second Luke would pull something like Jane, It just wasn´t in his personality? Bicker? Surely they would, but I don´t think they´d actually cause a shitstorm over their differences enough to part ways.
Why are you asking other people if your idea is a good idea? That is why it is called fan fiction. Because you are the fan and you are writing out a story you thought of using the piece of fiction or what ever. In a fan fiction, I could make Carver a completely cool nice guy, I could make Kenny die a stupid pointless death, and I could make Clementine an evil person who killed Lee in cold blood after shooting the stranger. Would anyone think these would be good ideas for a story? No! But it doesn't matter, because it's my work, my fanfiction
I think they'll always have tiny disagreements since they're such polar opposites, but I think they would have eventually been able to prioritize Clem and AJ. Luke, as well as Kenny, cared a lot for both of them ("As long as he's safe" comes to mind from Luke if he's the one who saves the baby).
Clem, AJ, Luke, and Kenny would have been one of my dream endings.
Hmm, I think they'd probably stay together for a while in an ending where Clem and AJ stay at Wellington. They have no one else, after all, and they seemed to have set aside their pretty trivial differences in episode 5. But it's guaranteed that Kenny, in depression after having to leave Clem and AJ, would eventually pop off one too many times and Luke would end up parting ways with him.
The only way I think they'd permanently stay in the same group is if Clem and AJ went with them. And even then I think that eventually Luke would try to convince Clem to take AJ and come with him away from Kenny. Unless Kenny cleans up his act, which quite honestly isn't all that believable.
I was curious if people were interested by the idea.
I think there could've been two possible outcomes. One outcome might've where after a bumpy road of disagreements, they finally saw eye to eye and eventually got along to work together as a team to keep Clem and AJ safe, which if Lee and Kenny can do that, then so can he and Luke. So they might've all made it up to Wellington fine and dandy. There might be some disagreements time to time, but I could seen it possible them working as a team, whether or not Clem and AJ stayed at Wellington or went with them.
;_; Like this beautiful cheesy picture:
Damn you tumblr, hitting me in the feels...
The other outcome however would be darker, say where Kenny is losing it a bit about getting them to Wellington, that it brings up the same issue where they don't have a enough baby formula to go searching around for Wellington and Luke might think it better to turn back like Jane did. I doubt Luke would've ever provoked Kenny as Jane did however, more likely if it came down to it Luke might have tried to get Clem and the baby away if he thought Kenny was beyond reasoning or having failed to convince Kenny to turn around [especially if that bad blood had kept building between them throughout the episode]. It establishes Luke views Kenny as broken in Episode 4, so if he really believed that, it's possible getting his dead's friend baby and the kid he's been looking out for away from that guy might be the only option he has left, thus, Kenny really wouldn't have liked that.
I doubt also Luke would've hidden the baby, unless it was put it somewhere out of the blizzard while looking for Clem if they got separated. So the whole thing with Kenny showing up could've been a 'papa bear getting mad at somebody trying to take his kids away' and Luke just being in a defence state of 'just let us go' and Kenny refusing to and attacking Luke until he fesses up where the baby is o_o as that honest trailer quotes "you know, typical best friend stuff!"
So though I do think it's possible both Kenny and Luke could've become best buds in the long run, it would've all depended on Kenny's state of mind and the circumstances involved.
I think it would've been cool if the ending played out like that, except at the end Kenny pleads for them to let Luke into Wellington too since he's injured, and asks him to take care of Clem and AJ, because he can't trust himself to do it and thinks they're all safer in Wellington, then we're given the final choice of staying at Wellington with Luke or leaving with Kenny.
That being said though, if both Luke and Kenny weren't allowed into Wellington and were left alone together, I think they would've finally reached a compromise. They don't really have anyone else, and although they do bump heads a lot, because they do have different ways of thinking and dealing with things, I don't think they'd become aggressive towards each other, maybe they'd have a few small arguments, but it wouldn't escalate to the Jane level fight. It would depend on Kenny's state of mind at the time though, because in the ending where you leave him after he kills Jane, he really wants to be left on his own because he thinks he's a danger to Clem and AJ... and if he's with Luke, I don't know how he'd feel about worrying about his safety. I'd think they'd both try to look for another safe place for themselves, but I'm not sure if they'd stay together in the long-run if Kenny decides he wants to go off on his own. I think they were starting to be friends in episode 5 though, and if they do team up, they usually get things done, so they'd work great as a team.
Pshh, Luke isn't crazy like Jane and he's really humane(sometimes too humane), but I think they'd balance each other out. Luke would never push Kenny too far, he'll defend himself, but he'll go along with most of what Kenny says. Also based on Kenny's reaction to Luke's death Kenny never really hated Luke. They both care about Clem and the baby so it'd be an awesome duo to me and even if they were to split up it wouldn't involve murder!
As much as I love Luke and I love Kenny, and I really wish they both could've survived... I still think they'd split after getting Clementine to Wellington. They were working together because of Clem IMO, they argued about who she would go with in EP. 2, and they only really stuck together for the sake of Clem and later AJ. So, I think they would've split up. Especially with how Luke talks about Kenny in EP. 4, even if they seem to resolve things in EP. 5, Luke wouldn't be able to stick it out with Kenny. Kenny is too quick to act without thinking about things, and Luke is more considerate and soft. They'd make a bad team, I mean, Luke walked off from Kenny because he was so frustrated with him, and this was the first time they had to work together at the Ski Lodge.
But considering all of Kenny's ex lovers were kinder and softer individuals, Luke isn't that different from the people who usually balance Kenny out.
I AM NOT SHIPPING KENNY AND LUKE WHEN I SAY THIS.
But, still, nope. Luke would probably leave Kenny and Kenny wouldn't give a dam.
