What made it seem forced to me was that you couldn't outright say that you didn't like him. You can only say it to him in episode 2 if you burn the drawing of him and then it's completely ignored by the story and Clem is attached to him for no reason, and whenever someone said Kenny was losing it you could only give a half hearted maybe and the subject is dropped. And it irritates me because your "relationship" with Kenny cements plot points even if you don't like him. Mike, Arvo and Bonnie (Determinant) try to leave and don't ask you because they all think you're close to Kenny and Jane goes to crazy lengths to prove to you that Kenny is bad when I've always wanted to say that no, I don't like him. I'll leave, don't fake a baby's death.
He was an awesome character. I Sided with him a lot of the time, even if it wasn't always morally right. I disagree that his relationship wi… moreth Clementine was forced. Yeah, it wasn't as tight as her and Lee, but they were still pretty close in my game.
Taking morals out of the game, I didn't kill him because I wanted him to remain in the show/game. I also somewhat regret not staying with him at the end.
I got that in my playthrough too! But that's only if you sided with Kenny. But I view Lee as the surrogate father of Clem and I view Kenny as the Uncle of Clem
" i'm sure most people would want to put there family before anything else! "
In my playthough, Kenny said Lee and Clem are the only family he has left now. ( Dem feels!
You have a point there was little interaction between Clem and Kenny in season 1. Maybe off screen during the time-skip but we don't know fo… morer sure. The main reason why there was a connection in season 2 between Kenny and Clem was because they knew each other when the ZA all started. Clem was one of the last people to of known and met Katjaa and Duck so Kenny wanted to stay close to Clem, same goes for Clem Kenny was her last connection to Lee.
Kenny would have come with you, if you were realy 100% on his side, exept for this 2events. Here is a detailed list of all the things you can do for him in Season1 (From most important, to least important):
1:
Save Duck at the farm/ protect Duck at the Drugstore, Help Kenny to kill Larry, Put Ben out of his mysery
2:
Side with Kenny over Lilly, Give food/water to Duck (3times), Side with Kenny over Christa and Omid, Side with Kenny about his Boat plan, Don't fight Kenny in the train, Leave Lilly behind, Tell Kenny about your past, Take the supplies of the car, Tell Kenny that it isn't his fault that Shawn died, Help Kenny with Ducks death and the boy in the attic, Don't shoot the girl in Episode3, Side with Kenny over Ben
As you can see, there are tones of Situations were you can side with Kenny during Season1 and they all matter. Just some of them, matter more then others do.
I personally did everything Kenny´s way except leaving Lilly and dropping Ben and he still wouldn´t volunteer to come until I pulled the family card. I did help kill Larry. I don´t understand why he didn´t want to come at all.
Oh,I saved Duck, I helped Kenny, I didn´t kill Ben.
I sided with Kenny over Lilly, I gave food to both Kenny and Duck. Don´t really remember what i did in the Christa thing. Didn´t fight Kenny. Took Lilly. Told Kenny about my past and did comfort him about Shawn. I shot Duck for Kenny and didn´t shoot the girl.
I think it was really only the Lilly/Ben thing I didn´t side with him...maybe my file messed up?

It's somewhat of a Nick and Pete situation. Pete was Nick's uncle, but after Nick's family died, he was like a father for Nick. In my opinion, Kenny is Clem's new father figure.
I got that in my playthrough too! But that's only if you sided with Kenny. But I view Lee as the surrogate father of Clem and I view Kenny as the Uncle of Clem

Same here. Except I had Kenny shoot Fivel. I even purposely hide Lee's bite so I can make that trip to Vernon's with just Kenny and Ben and get that alternate bro-speech line, "Lee, you and Clementine are the only family I got left, I'm with you to the end." So for me as well, Kenny was a good friend.
Though the game unfortunately only shows his concern (alternate dialogue and animation) for Clem based mainly on Lee's and Kenny's relationship. If they had planned originally for Kenny to survive Season One (instead of him dying) then things might have been set up differently for Season 2. Instead it leaves players to associate Clem's relationships with Kenny based solely off his relationship with Lee (for good or bad). When really in my opinion they should have always have been two separate things and handled in that way.
Well My Lee did help keep Larry from coming back.
Though he did not help loot the station wagon, nor leave the girl to get eaten at the dru… moregstore.
He did euthanize Duck for Kenny, and later on, the boy in the attic.
He however did not allow Ben to die at Crawford.
And yet, even though My Lee did not agree with everything Kenny said or did, when Clementine was gone, Kenny jumped at the chance to help find her; even though he was unaware of Lee's bite.
So in my book, Kenny was a good friend.
I don't think I'd call Kenny Clementine's best friend.....
They almost never interacted in season one and it's clear that they didn't really get all that close. Kenny was majorly concerned only with his own family and didn't really bond with the others outside of that. Those two being happy to see each other really only came out of a sense of familiarity.
Which is why I rolled my eyes at Clem's "I wonder where I got that from" when Kenny says she's stubborn as a mule. Kenny hasn't been around long enough for her to get anything from him, and by the time he shows up in season two, Clementine is stronger and wiser and forming her own identity. Or rather, I'm forming her identity partially. And Kenny sure as hell is not an influence except to be as much not like him as I can make Clementine when it comes to survival tactics.
So yes, "best friend" is false. Even "guardian" is false. I feel as if Clementine doesn't need a guardian anymore and I wouldn't call anybody but Lee a guardian for her. If anything, Clementine was the one babysitting all of the others. Hell, she's Kenny's guardian not the other way around.

Only reactions I remember the two having in S1 were her seeing him crush Larry's head and him ordering her to get inside the train. Yeah, they were always total BFFs.
Well people need to learn to accept the opinions of others.
Not everyone is going to see everything their way.
That's not how life works.
The world doesn't revolve around one particular individual.
In order to have good relationships with others, everyone needs to express their opinions in a mature, tactful and respectful way.
While showing respect for the opinions, and feelings of others.
How do we learn to do that?
For one thing, by having a humble view of ourselves, after all we're just people, who flaws like everyone else.
That includes everyone, including me.
And the second way, is by spending a lot of time in the company of others, as that's how good social skills are developed.
Isolating oneself is never a good thing, though granted there are times when we do need time alone.
However by making it a point to socialize as much as possible, in all kinds of situations, is how a person develops the social-savvy that is needed to have good, healthy relationships with others.
And in turn, they'll be happy for doing so.
Kenny hasnt gotten along with anyone, its hard to consider him a friend of Clementine.
The few exceptions are Katjaa, Sarita and possibly Walter. In S1, there was just no reason to like him except for a few moments in Ep.1. In S2, they seemed to cater the story to spots where Kenny's brashness and experience were well suited, his defiance to Carver, helping deliver the baby, dealing with the Russians and Arvo. Though through it all, Kenny was still Kenny, so he still just argues with everyone and assumes hes right and that everyone should do what he says and acts like an asshole. He alienates everyone he speaks to. If it werent for having known him in S1, in S2, I might have been split on Kenny and had a reasonably hard time with his fate.
I helped him everytime because i like his idea too, in season 2 if he accept not to have an eye because of clem safety , excuse him for everthing she said. The only two things i do against him was in s1 when i fight with him because i tap the wrong line,by mistake. And lost the temper , but i said sorry to him after. In s2 i was so exciting of him .He became my favourite character in s2 and secon after lee in s1 because he saved lee at the end of s1e1.I killed larry because i hated him and he tried too,but you don't mention that.
Well, I always loved watching some good cartoons we had back then (not that they´re all bad today, honestly). I also recall collecting Pokemon cards and stuff. What´d you do?
Kenny was broken inside, when his family died and then Sarita. It was too much for him. In my opinion, everyone would get crisis when someone loses his family or people you love. The cool thing about Kenny is that he never gives up. Kenny keep getting together with Clementine. Kenny is a true friend, a family for Clementine. Kenny and Clementine, both are like family.
The fact is: Kenny is always faithful to Clementine.
I honestly don't see Kenny getting out of this alive. He's just one of those characters who will be with you, almost to the end.
There is nothing bad to say about him in the next episode. He saves Clementine from a beating. He helps develop the plan to get them out of there. His revenge on Carver is justifiable.
Actually he tried to rambo his way out of the truck, putting everyone else at risk. And when they managed to get the walkie talkie, Kenny forces you to take it, even though Mike proposes he takes it and you can agree with him on that. So Kenny is the one who put Clementine in danger.

Clementine's fine. Bonnie helped Clementine in this moment where Clementine freezes. But that does not Bonnie better later she gives Kenny blame that Luke is dead. Arvo is to blame for everything!

Are you playing the game on the Xbox360? The safe files are fucked up there! ;D
Nope,I´m not. But I´ve had a friend that had problems in the PC so I might have had some problems too.
Thank you, by the way!
100% with you on that.
Don't mention it, us Forum members must stick together! (And don't fight over every little detail, like some other people intent to)

I to had Lee hide it from the group, cause I was afraid they'd possibly turn on him.
Just to be clear.
Only reactions I remember the two having in S1 were her seeing him crush Larry's head and him ordering her to get inside the train. Yeah, they were always total BFFs.
Groovy. ;p
Pull the lever, Kronk!
Wrong lever!
Kenny's like a grizzly bear. You don't want to be near him when he's having a tantrum, but damn, it's good to have him on your side.

Classic Disney hilarity. Children of the mid to late 90's rejoice!
Born in 92 here!
'96. The world was a much different place.
Could say I'm biased, but it was probably better.

Beating Arvo is more important to Kenny than saving Clementines life. Is this what true friends and family does?
I was a gamer even before the decade ended. My Dreamcast and PS2 were my pride and joy. I grew up with the Crash, Sonic, and Sly Cooper series.
