Arvo A master manipulator has fooled many!

So here it is, i think a lot of people are being fooled by the innocent looking Ben like character, but don't let looks fool you, he is ebil.

What we know about this guy is that he told the Russians that the supplies were missing. Regardless of you choice, he will tell the Russians that you, your group stole the supplies.... Why would he do this? He obviously stole the supplies for himself, so if you don't steal the supplies with Jane, he takes them for himself and blames you later.

When Clementine shoots Arvo's sister, he gives Clementine the Evil Eye. At this point in time, that is when you know Arvo wants Clementine dead. Those eyes, Now captured, Arvo a smart Rooskie, knows he needs a strategy or he will die by Kenny's hands or abandonment. He devises a strategy to antagonize kenny, to fracture the group. Arvo saw how he could manipulate Mike/Bonnie and even Clementine into feeling sorry for him with his excessive crying and snotting. He pretends not to speak English as well as he does, when he was talking to clementine in episode four he spoke much more clear, then when he was captured.

It would be hard to believe Arvo did not know where the ice was thin/thick, the other Russians weighed as much as any of the others, and they went across the ice safely. Why is that? Because they probably never used the ice in the first place, or if they did they didn't go the way Arvo lead them. He used the crossing as a chance to escape. he knew someone would probably fall in the water, he nearly fell himself but he decided it was worth the risk, and we lost Luke because of it. This causes more drama, exactly what master manipulator Arvo wanted. He fiendishly plans to abandon the others and steal kenny's truck with the other cohorts.

Clementine awakened by the commotion, confronts the rest of the members. For some reason they trusted him with a gun, which was a terrible mistake. Arvo blames Clementine for his sister's death, and wants revenge. No matter what choice you make, if you decide to rat out Bonnie/Mike or let them go, Arvo points the gun at Clementine and shoots her aiming to kill her, nearly missing her heart by a few inches.

So all you people fooled by Arvo's manipulation. I understand, but i see him in a different light. A light where he knew what he needed to do to escape confinement, and get revenge on Clementine.

The only thing Telltale does correctly is perfectly displaying ways of manipulation.

    1) Carver and how he tried complimenting Clementine on how the others are weak and she is strong.

    2) Carver exchanging food & shelter for unconditional loyalty.

    3) Kenny berating anyone who does not agree with him. Basically, if you're trying to talk and they talk louder to put you down, that's manipulation.

    4) Jane hiding the baby.

    5) Arvo stealing supplies from his own group

    6) Carlos sheltering Sarah from the real world

One thing I don't agree with

He devises a strategy to antagonize kenny, to fracture the group. Arvo saw how he could manipulate Mike/Bonnie and even Clementine into feeling sorry for him with his excessive crying and snotting.

He lost his sister. I don't think anyone is in right in the head after suffering the loss of loved one. The only thing he did do, is steal from his own group, and shifted the blame on Clementine and Jane. Kenny, he just doesn't know how to think things through. It's his own fault. Stop trying to find excuses for Kenny.

I'm glad this piece of trash got roughed up. Buricko was a better person than this kid. If you look closely, he's right behind Clementine during the shootout and doesn't kill her or the baby. However, this parasite shoots her for no reason and attempts to leave a baby with no food.

  • Crazy George.... you're not so crazy after all!!!

  • Yes. This post has so much yes. While I didn't agree with Kenny nearly beating him to death initially, I kinda wish he had. I believe Mike and Bonnie gave Arvo the gun because if Kenny showed up, they told him to shoot Kenny. Not like they even cared what happened to AJ or Clem, Kenny for sure they didn't care for. God, this makes me dislike Mike and Bonnie and Arvo even more.

The only reason why I sympathized with him is because he offered supplies, which he wasn't lying about. And the group really needed supplies. He didn't cry on purpose, Kenny was being his usual self.

  • Yeah, it's up to debate if Mike or Bonnie game him the gun. We don't know that for sure, but Arvo was closest to it when he and Mike were talking, and if I were them I'd sure as hell have a gun readily available if I was stealing someone's supplies and car and leaving two kids to die. Mike didn't seem to try and take it away from him even though he tried to make the situation settle down after Clem and Arvo drew their guns.

  • Anything helps.. literally... anything. If the entire group got at least one scoop, that would've been much more helpful than killing Arvo and having nowhere to go without food.

  • Well I'll be damned. Nice thread dude. Now Arvo is super dead in my book. >:(

  • This!

It's why nobody died in the shoot-out. If Luke or Mike had died instead of being injured, then there never would've been any misguided Arvo sympathy. Plus the already naive, and idiotic idea of following him would have made even less sense (if that's possible). Funny how the nearby town from EP4 was forgotten in favor of following Arvo too.

I always wondered where he got the rifle. Stashed in the house, maybe?

  • The rifle popped outta nowhere because that's what garbage writers like Pierre Shorette like to do.

Guns seemed to do that or go missing through out the episode. Some how they only have one AK-47 even though they should have two after the gunfight, and nobody bothers picking up the shotgun? Just bad.

I don't know which parts (if any) Breckon or Shorette wrote separately in this episode or if it was always collaboration. Personally I liked Faith.

  • Yeah this was all pretty clear in retrospect, I don't understand people who still don't get that Arvo is a total scumbag who was trying to get you all killed.

  • He lost his sister. I don't think anyone is in right in the head after suffering the loss of loved one

Well you would be wrong, people are quite resilient when their own life is on the line.

he only thing he did do, is steal from his own group, and shifted the blame on Clementine and Jane

Did you miss all the other points i made , like trying to cause a escape situation with the stupid cross ice plan.

Stop trying to find excuses for Kenny.

This thread isn't about Kenny, its about Arvo. Please do not derail the conversation.
