Even as a joke, that actually sounds like an awesome backstory idea. It reminded me of a certain thing in TWAU that I can't say here in case anyone hasn't played it
No no no, you have it all wrong. Jane is Jaime. The real Jane never left her sister to die on that rooftop. She died to protect her. Jaime, … moreunable to cope with the guilt of causing her older sister's death, took on Jane's personality as her own in order to cope with the psychological trauma. She's the person we know as "Jane." "Jane's" extreme pragmatism and willingness to abandon others comes from Jaime's belief that her sister should have left her behind rather than sacrifice herself to save her.
Remember when Jane said something about how her sister had this nice leather jacket that Clem could have used? Jane's jacket was leather. And remember Jane talking about giving her sister a "bad haircut" because she put some gum in there? Well take a look at Jane's head and tell me that's not a bad haircut. It all fits.
It's worth comparing the behavior of Ep3 Jane to Ep4 and Ep5 Jane. Ep3 Jane is practically a tabula rasa whose only defining characteristics… more seem to be a lack of humanity or true empathy. In Ep4 and Ep5 she begins to shape a personality to poison Clementine's relations with the group.
Compare Ep3 Jane's treatment of Troy to Ep5 Jane's reaction to knifing the Russian.
Ep3 Jane wouldn't give a fuck, but suddenly Ep5 Jane's distraught over the frailty of the human condition and needs to confide in Clem?
Hmmmmmmmm.
Yeah guys, I appreciate you bumping my thread so more people can see it but if you're not going to have a discussion related to Jane's psychopathy could you take it to tells?
All people lie about trivial things, yes. But it's when people lie about significant events(like a baby being dead), that it becomes near impossible to believe them even if they have told the truth before.
I always did find Jane's smile, and general indifference to shooting Troy in the dick/leaving him to get eaten by walkers pretty disturbing. She is a rather stoic and unfeeling person in her debut, but whenever Clem was around she adapted this "misunderstood warrior with a tragic past" persona. It was such a drastic change from her original personality, it is possible that she's just afraid to get close to people again..but then I think of that infamous creepy smile and I'm not so sure. And as I said in a previous post, she knows how to fake emotions, and lie convincingly to reach her goal, who's to say she wasn't lying from the beginning?

No, i want him to leave because he has never ever, contributed with anything even close to positive on this forum. All he EVER!!! Does is cause heated discussions, and shit on Jane fans, thats it, why keep him around

Troy was obviously a sadist and his behavior toward Clem and Sarah when they came back from using the bathroom implied that he was a sexual predator. Is it really so hard for you to buy the idea that Troy did something to deserve it?

I'm afraid Jane just told us about her past, I don't think Clem asked to know everything. Yeah I get Jane liked Clem because she was a tough little survivor, but I feel Jane really forced herself on Clem with the whole, dead sister thing, and then later killed a man who never wronged me thing.
It was premeditated, she purposely hid AJ in the car with the intent to tell Kenny(and Clem) that she lost AJ to the walkers. She predicted how Kenny would react, because unlike Jane, Kenny is an open book. With this in mind, she created a story that would set Kenny off, putting her in a good light in Clem's eyes, while also giving her a good excuse to get rid of Kenny. There is no getting around this, it is a fact.

No problem, Bud. It's true, I used to rely on Flog to deal with this kind of crap, But now that he/she's gone, We need a new Flog.
Telltalemaster is the hero the forums deserve, Not the one it needs right now.
How do we know Jane was harmed by Troy? All I think they really baited us with was Jane and Troy might've had a sexual relationship (no strings attatched as Jane was just using him) we don't know if Jane was harmed by Troy in the same manner that Troy treated Clementine. And besides, she had to kill Troy so that the group could escape, same as how she killed the Russian dude before he shot Kenny and possibly others. Her personality did a 180 in my opinion.
You mean like the complete 180 of the entire Cabin group? One night they want to put a bullet through your head and they don't trust you, the next morning it's all 'sorry' and 'please look after my daughter and 'she's just a little girl.'

I don't think that comment implied he was a sexual predator, I think that was just Troy being an asshole(as usual) and fucking around with the hostages. I don't think anyone deserves to be shot in the dick. Maybe Carver, but even then it kinda seems like overkill.:/

You don't know what premeditated means, do you? Premeditation requires time and planning. She didn't have time to think it through or plan it. It was a spur of the moment choice.

Kenny is a vampire and he leeches life out of others as he kills them and this keeps him going. We can see this multiple times over the game… more.
* Larry. He kills Larry without hesitation, just showing how he needs to kill humans
* Katjaa. He probably shot Katjaa himself because Duck just wasnt big & live enough to satisfy his hunger.
* Ben. This is the longest time he hasnt killed anyone and he was so desperate that even Lee killing someone was good enough for him
* If you denied the kill from Kenny, later Ben falls to his demise and after Kenny realizes Ben is still alive, He had to take advantage of the situation and go shoot him personally.
* Walter. As a proper christian he hates gay people and killing the guard in order to get walter dead was just part of his brilliant plan
* Alvin. After Walter died, he wanted more and tried to take Carver out. Unfortunately he misses, but Carver rectifies the situation by shooting… [view original content]
There is no need to be insulting. She did have time to think up a plan, while she was separated from Clem and Kenny in the storm. From where the truck crashed, it was about a mile walk to the rest stop if I'm not mistaken. Plenty of time to think of a plan if you ask me.

I'm sure working together we can all get to the bottom of this mystery.
What amusement park in Virginia would Jane and her supposed sister go to "every summer" anyway? Why did she say they went to it "in Virginia"? Repeated interstate travel to get to an amusement park in Virginia? Florida maybe, but this Virginia business seems fishy. Did she fabricate this by seeing a Virginia license plate like Clem saw a North Carolina plate in Episode 1? It's likely she would see one, as they're right by the border to Virginia...and they were searching a car just a moment before...
Carver was a sadist, sure, but he was a sadist with principles. Troy was a mindless sadist. Nothing he did served any purpose beyond entertainment. Imagine if Troy had the intelligence and the ambition to take Carver's place.
"Overzealous, is that the word?" - Carver
"If it means I'll slap the shit out of her..." - Troy

Think about it this way - you were just arguing and you're angry, you just crashed a truck and you're shaken, now you're holding a baby and defenseless being tailed by walkers - how clearly are you thinking? How much time do you have to really consider your options? Making a rational choice under those conditions is very difficult.

Sadism is not an on or off thing. A sadist enjoys inflicting pain on people - period. Troy consistently enjoys inflicting pain on people - it's a part of who he is. Jane shot Troy. She didn't stop to revel in it. She didn't stop to watch him squirm. She shot him and left. One act does not equal sadism.
It does not take 10 minutes to walk a mile. Especially given the fact that they were walking much slower due to the snow storm. Not only is that plenty of time to think rationally, it is also enough time to concoct a plan to create the illusion that a baby is dead to set off Kenny who is in the way of what Jane wants, his predictably explosive reaction giving her the perfect cover for killing him, while also still giving her the appearance of a saint.
Ten minutes is not enough time for premeditation.

Lee was stalling for Lilly, waiting for her to kill. Jane was stalling for herself. The only difference between the two situations is the fa… morect that in the Lee one, he isn't the one to pull the trigger.
Ben lied for a good bit of time about the bandits. He was capable of it, but he didn't exactly like it.
You have a fair point with Jane's impulsiveness. I admit I was wrong there.
Not only Clementine, but Luke as well. Jane was genuinely in pain over Luke's death, as shown by her reaction it initially and her recount of it later. Jane spoke a good bit about how she didn't like becoming attached to people, but she does it naturally. She became naturally attached to Clementine, and then naturally attached to Luke. She did show sympathy and understanding for the actions of Mike, Bonnie, and Arvo, saying that she "can't really blame them" considering the shoddy state of the group. If Jane only cared about herself and Clem, and nobody else,… [view original content]
I don't have a screenshot of the scene, but that creepy as hell smile Jane had on her face sure made it look like she was enjoying what she was about to do. I'm sure she would have watched if it weren't for the walkers. She didn't have to shoot him in the dick, she could have shot him in the chest, or she could have just killed him which would be just as good of a distraction. But she didn't. She shot him in the dick, that is sadistic.

There wasn't anything inherently untrustworthy about them. They treated Clem like a threat because she was a threat. You can be wary of people without demonizing them.
Sadistic or not, if Jane was merciful with taking out Troy she would've shot Troy somewhere where it would have killed him immediately. She shot him in a place where he'd not die immediately, but the Walkers were certain to get him. She wanted him to suffer. Now, I'm not saying she is a sadist, but she wanted Troy to suffer. (And personally I wanted to see him suffer to for being such an asshole, because that's just karma IMO.)

It's quite obvious Jane lied because she want's to use that for her advancement on manipulating Clementine. Thank god her endings are non-canon.
Troy harmed her, russian guy didnt. It was against her own moral values to kill someone who didnt wrong her in some way.

It's never that black and white. The circumstances must always be taken into account. She was under duress and it wasn't premeditated.

Seems legit![:p :p](https://community.telltale.com/resources/emoji/tongue.png)

You're not grasping the point of this argument and making weirdly false equivocations with "deceit" so let me help you get back on track.
You say things like "Jane was genuinely in pain".
Reflect on Jane's deceptions to both Troy and Kenny/Clem and ask yourself this question:
How can you tell?
